Happy Children's Day

Happy Children's Day

In 1954, the United Nations declared that there should be one day a year to celebrate and protect children who worked long and dangerous hours while asking for time for children to continue studying. However, the date varies depending on the country. Mexico (and many border cities in the southern United States) celebrates Children’s Day on April 30.

Schools celebrate their children (pre-school to elementary) on that day with various activities and festive events. There are no classes; even if they have to go to school, they celebrate there. Their family can go party with them too.

Some schools celebrate by letting children dress up as superheroes or as what they would like to be when they are adults.

If you have children in your house, celebrate with them. Childhood is so short! Our obligation as adults is to leave the best memories for our children so that they grow up healthy and self-confident.

DID YOU KNOW?

The United States celebrates Children’s Day on June 11, and International Children’s Day is on November 20.
