Pretzel Day

Pretzel Day

In the United States, we celebrate NATIONAL PRETZEL DAY on April 26th ever since 2003.

Pretzels are one of the most popular snacks that are good for every occasion, including sporting events, snacking while shopping and of course, at the movie theaters.

Pretzels, a unique shaped boiled and baked bread, are said to be of religious origin. As early as the 7th century, the Catholic Church prohibited meat consumption so pretzels were the healthy choice of food instead.

Its twisted shape symbolized the union of two, as in matrimony, giving pretzels a romantic origin. In the United States, Germans in Pennsylvania introduced us this great snack and therefore in early 2000s, PRETZEL DAY was recognized as a special day to this delicious piece of bread.

Here at La Revista Binacional, we strongly recommend you to look out for local and franchised pretzel places that will celebrate NATIONAL PRETZEL DAY by giving pretzels for free. Make sure you remember that day!
