INTRODUCTION CONFIDENTIALITY This guide is intended for the sole use of Liberty Skis Corporation sales representatives and exclusive distributors. The content in this guide is confidential and is not intended for redistribution. This guide is the property of Liberty Skis Corporation, and must be returned on demand.
FOR REPS AND DISTRIBUTORS Dear Reps and Distributors, We are pleased to provide you with this sales guide. As a rep or a distributor, the content within this document should assist you in your efforts to maximize your sales of Liberty Skis and related products. As always, Liberty Skis management is available to answer specific questions, or to assist you in your sales efforts. The information presented here should be considered a refresher course for your pitches, as all of you should have at least a basic grasp of this knowledge. We have also included a reprint of the recent SKIING Magazine article, for those of you that might not have it handy. Please read this document thoroughly, and do not hesitate to send us suggestions of content to be added to this guide. We are all extremely excited about this year’s line, and about your involvement. After two very successful shows in Las Vegas and Munich, and some extremely encouraging on-snow ski tests, we believe that you should all have a very successful season. Good luck! Sincerely, Liberty Skis Management (Jim, Dan, and Chris)

PROFESSIONALISM It should go without saying that Liberty Skis is a business, and we expect that all reps, distributors, employees, and management comport themselves in a professional manner, wherever they may be. You represent this company, and fair dealing, honesty, and good manners are expected of all who are affiliated with it. Just as you would like to have your questions and comments attended to in a timely manner, so do customers and Liberty Skis management. Please ensure that you return emails with 24 hours in all cases. If you do not have an answer to a question, respond nonetheless stating that you do not have the answer and the steps that you will be taking to secure it. There should be almost no instance when you cannot check your email and at least send a confirmation of receipt to the sender. If you intend to be out of communication for a period of time, please let Liberty Skis management know that. Prompt communication is one of the hallmarks of Liberty Skis, as we have a well-deserved reputation for customer service - you expect it of us and of customers, and they (and we) expect it of you. It is the preference of the company that you be seen in the eyes of your customers as problem solvers. In general, this means that when you have to be the bad guy, we’d like to help. This does not mean that you cannot or should not be firm with customers, but when a serious dispute or disagreement arises, please let us shoulder some of the load. As you will learn in the coming pages, we offer a lot to our customers, but they frequently need to be reminded of this; such reinforcement requires tact and indeed, professionalism. The old expression that you must tell customers what you are going to tell them, and then tell them, and then tell them what you have told them, is true in the ski business. Basically this means that you must continue to repeat the Liberty Skis message, again and again. How you deliver the messages will often determine how many new shops you can open and how many pair of skis you can sell. Be confident in the knowledge that if you were not a professional you would not be part of this team. Let the market see your professionalism and your success will grow.

HOW TO SELL LIBERTY SKIS THE BIG THREE 1.
Liberty Skis offers the largest dealer margins in winter sports - up to 63% for US shops
2.
Liberty Skis offers award-winning, super high-performance skis, made with environmentally-friendly bamboo cores
3.
Liberty Skis offers the best customer service in the business - every issue is handled personally
...BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE - Liberty Skis stands behind its products with an industry-leading, 3 year warranty. Shops appreciate that Liberty will handle any warranty hassle, but also that Liberty will allow the shop itself to validate warranty claims if they wish - Liberty Skis sells only to independent shops, turning them into a destination - Liberty Skis uses the highest quality components in our skis, called ‘the best skis ever made’ by Freeskier Magazine - Liberty is 100% wind-powered, and is the first ski company dedicated to being 100% carbon neutral
THE BIG THREE 1. BIGGEST DEALER MARGIN When Liberty Skis says it offers the biggest dealer margin in the business, it means a margin of up to 63% in the US, and a markup of 100% (including VAT) overseas. To a shop it means this, plain and simple: you will earn more money selling Liberty Skis than any other brand. Make them understand this, the buyer, owner, and shop kids, and you will have their business. This large margin also means that when the time for discounting rolls around (February 1), dealers can discount and still have a larger margin than all other brands. Everyone at your shops must know this and understand why it is the case.
2. AWARD-WINNING, HIGH-PERFORMANCE SKIS Liberty has won numerous awards for its skis, as well as accolades from the market and from magazine editors who have selected Liberty as their choice for the highest-performance, from the terrain park, to the half-pipe, to groomers, to the biggest off-piste lines. Liberty’s unique bamboo cores, give pop, life, light weight, and performance, as well as being environmentally friendly.
3.HIGHEST CLIENT SATISFACTION Liberty Skis has been acclaimed for its excellent customer service, which means less work for the ski shop.
Liberty headquarters answers every inquiry
personally, and Liberty is frequently cited in letters to editors of magazines and in the community of ski shops as the best by far in attention to the customer. Combine this with the world’s best skis, and you have the formula for happy customers.

...BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! Liberty Skis was the first company, and as of now, the only company to have bamboo cores in 100% of its skis. This is not just a marketing gimmick, this is important for 2 main reasons: 1) it yields a better performing product, and 2) it is part of Liberty Skis’ carbon-neutral philosophy. Liberty’s bamboo cores provide more pop and energy return than traditional skis, and its lower camber provides faster turn initiation. Selling Liberty Skis requires a commitment and effort, but such work will pay off with every new shop that is educated, with every new shop worker that is trained, and with every new customer who learns about Liberty. Since Liberty only sells to independent shops instead of big-box retailers, those shops can become a destination, and the exclusivity that you sell to these shops is genuine. Visit your shops and prospects frequently, scheduling and providing selling clinics. Your shops should look to you to help them sell, and will appreciate it, rewarding you with a re-order or a larger pre-season order. Liberty Skis uses the world’s highest quality components, resulting in what have been called the ‘best skis ever made,’ by Freeskier Magazine. Edges of steel from Austria, plastics from Germany, bamboo from China, inks from Switzerland, and adhesives from the U.S.A.
DAN SAYS: Tell dealers all of these things every time that you see them. Reinforcing our value proposition is the key to increasing sales
are hand-selected to work in concert, producing the final product. Prototyping is done in our headquarters near Vail, Colorado, and our assembly is done in our dedicated facility in Asia, reducing costs while maintaining quality for our customers. Whether it is race-quality bases, burly steel edges, the finest bamboo, or UHMW for our sidewalls, these expensive components do not result in increased costs for our customers, thanks to LIberty Skis’ extremely efficient cost structure. Liberty Skis is 100% wind-powered through the purchase of electricity offset wind credits, and is the first ski company dedicated to being 100% carbon neutral. This is not just a gimmick, it is good for our business. By using dense-pack shipping and recycled containers where possible, we save money for everyone involved in the production and purchase of Liberty Skis, while minimizing our environmental footprint. By using bamboo (and Liberty Skis was the first and remains the only ski company to use bamboo in 100% of its skis) we
reduce the impact on old-growth forests, and produce a better, higher-performing product. For Liberty, our philosophy and our demand for affordable performance are one in the same. Making the sale to a shop is only the first step. Train them, help them, drive traffic to their stores, increase their sell-through, and communicate constantly with them. You will justly be seen as the expert, and by helping them make more money, you will earn the right to ask for a re-order.

ONLINE VS. PHYSICAL SHOPS Frequently, you will be asked by your shops how we deal with online orders and inquiries. Rightfully so, many physical shops are concerned about online dealers seizing market share from them, and they are concerned about Liberty (and all of their suppliers) selling direct to consumers. You should be armed with the following comments, which should not only allay shops’ fears, but give them greater confidence that Liberty is, in fact, looking out for the shops’ best interests, because that will translate into success for Liberty.
SHOPATRON Liberty Skis does not sell product online, direct to consumers, but uses a service known as Shopatron to handle online demand. Shopatron is a company to which Liberty pays a fee so that our products can be ordered online from our site, yet fulfilled and a sale concluded, by our customer, a physical shop. As an example, a skier in Chicago visits the Liberty Skis site, and decides to purchase a pair of Helix (a wise choice) by clicking the ‘Buy Now’ button on the Liberty site. At that moment, the order is posted on Shopatron’s network, where all Liberty shops can see it (important: your shop must be signed up for Shopatron - it’s free for them). Within the first 24 hours, the closest physical shop to that customer has the priority for fulfilling that order. After 24 hours, any Liberty shop can fulfill it. After 48 hours, if no dealer has stock, Liberty Skis itself is the fulfiller of last resort. In Europe, due to VAT issues, each country where Shopatron operates will have its own page, linked to by the flags on the Liberty Skis global site as well as each distributor’s applicable site. Note that Shopatron is fairly new in Europe, and many fewer shops have enrolled there to-date. By using Shopatron, Liberty Skis not only avoids competing with dealers, we actually assist in driving additional traffic to our shops. In the 12 months ending April 1, 2009, approximately 100 Liberty orders were routed through Shopatron.
ONLINE SHOPS AND DISCOUNTING Unlike many other manufacturers, Liberty Skis has the same rules about discounting for online shops as it does for physical shops. As stated on our order forms and outline of terms, shops may not advertise a price below our minimum advertised price until February 1 of that model year. On occasion we have had online dealers run afoul of this, but when requested to do so, they returned to compliance with our policy.
EBAY AND AUCTION SITES Liberty Skis does not prohibit the use of auction sites, however any ‘Buy It Now’ price or other advertised price must not be below our minimum advertised price guideline until February 1 of that model year.
PRO-FORM Liberty Skis maintains a pro-form policy that requires strict compliance with industry standards. Professional ski instructors, ski patrol personnel, and other qualified professional skiers are afforded a reduced price on Liberty Skis products. Note that these sales are done exclusively through Liberty Skis HQ in concert with regional representatives.

LIBERTY GENOME

CHANGE WHAT IS POSSIBLE
The Genome is a game changer. It is a refinement of the ultra-fat powder ski with full tip and tail rocker and a center section with camber and sidecut. It carves like a shorter, stiffer ski on the hardpack, but has incredible float in the deep, with progressively softer rockered tips and tails. The tips and tails have also been elongated for a shallower angle of attack, leading to an incredibly smooth and effortless ride. At 141mm under foot and with a slightly stiffer tail section, the Genome allows a more centered and athletic stance when riding or landing big drops.
Want to smooth out
mixed conditions? Smear turns down a big face? Land switch in bottomless powder? The Genome will change what is possible on skis. FEATURES: HRC 48 Edges - Our new, specially treated HRC 48 edges feature a new wider profile with larger anchors for greater durability and longer life. Cab 4 - Cab Forward Stance - Our name for a progressive, more centered stance needed for spinning or riding switch 78 Degree Sidewalls - Creates increased edge grip with UHMW damping from our 78 degree angle. This sidewall construction is tough and affords the best combination of edge grip and turning ease that we have found. FRP - Fiber Reinforced Polymer - We use mats of this dense material under the binding area to increase screw retention and add rigidity. Bamboo - Laminated bamboo gives tremendous rebound and energy while being environmentally friendly. UHMW Sidewalls - Rugged and repairable sidewall material with a layer of rubber above and below for smooth riding and durability. UHMW is tougher than ABS and can be repaired if you manage to gouge a hole in it. ISO - New co-extruded polyamide material is the best sublimated topsheet available. P-Tex 2000 - Fast and durable sintered base from the industry leaders. Liberty Hard Core - Liberty Core with the addition of extra quadaxial fiber to increase torsional rigidity for our wider skis.
This is ideal for the greater
forces and higher speeds that our wider skis encounter.

With elongated tips and tails and mini
rocker we call Fat Head technology, the DH will change how you view powder and mixed conditions anywhere it snows.
Opening to rave reviews last
year, the Double Helix is now available in both a 190 cm and 182 cm length. We kept the signature Liberty bamboo laminate core to keep things light and powerful, while adding a quadaxial fiberglass layer for torsional rigidity at high speed. At 121mm underfoot, these skis have massive floatation but are surprisingly agile, making for a truly unique riding experience. AWARD-WINNING VERSATILITY The award-winning Helix line is back. Handcrafted as a utility ski for big mountains, the Helix has redefined versatility in a fat ski. Skiers from the Coast Range to the Rockies have made the Helix their daily driver because of its ability to handle everything from tight chutes and tree runs to wide open bowls.
The Helix rips groomers with ease
thanks to quadaxial glass and our new Durathane sidewall layer, and has Fat Head technology (mini rocker in the tip and tail) to smooth out mixed conditions and rise to the top of deep powder.
Our trade-
mark bamboo laminate core and sintered P-Tex 2000 base keeps it all light and fast. At 105mm underfoot, the Helix hits the sweet spot for big mountain performance and aggressive powder riding. LIBERTY LTE LIBERTY TEAM EDITION Liberty is proud to introduce the Liberty Team Edition, or LTE.
We worked
closely with our team members to design a ski that absolutely slays everything from park and pipe to all-mountain progressive riding. Our pros are very hard on their equipment, and demanding when it comes to performance. We responded by introducing a rugged urethane layer above the sidewall to smooth out impacts while retaining a lively feel and protecting the topsheet from chips. We refined the flex pattern with more stiffness in the center of the core for better edge hold in a wide range of conditions, while leaving the tips and tails slightly softer for easy turn initiation and absorption of terrain features. The LTE also features the Liberty Team Core, crack-resistant HRC 44 edges, and a backprinted, co-extruded topsheet for greater durability.

CARBON-NEUTRAL PHILOSOPHY
...for Liberty Skis, where we use wind power for 100% of our electricity, through offsets of purchased wind credits. Liberty Skis was the first and is the only ski company dedicated to being carbon neutral forever. In addition, all materials used in ski production are weighed and compared to the weight of the finished skis, allowing us to monitor and reduce waste. Part of Liberty Skis’ philosophy is to use lowvolume packaging, providing a dense pack of skis to our distributors, minimizing shipping waste. 95% of Liberty's product is shipped by sea, rather than by air, dramatically reducing carbon waste. Liberty Skis is proud to have the ski industry's longest warranty of 3 years, showing the company’s faith in the durability of its product and its materials, and also its commitment to Liberty’s customers. All packaging material used by Liberty is either 100% reused boxes or is new boxes, made significantly from post-consumer, recycled material. Liberty packages skis in reusable bags as opposed to the typical shrink wrap, and is exploring soy-based materials for future packaging.

WARRANTY Liberty Skis offers the longest, most comprehensive warranty in the ski business: three years for failure under normal use. You will encounter shops that consider this a great asset, but also shops that consider it a potential liability. Here is why (and here is how to deal with it). It should be obvious why shops would consider this program to be a great asset. If one of their customers has an equipment failure through normal use, it is Liberty Skis (or that country’s authorized distributor) that will replace the product directly, should the shop wish us to handle the situation in this manner. No problems are created for the shop, and they keep a happy customer. On occasion you will encounter a shop that takes the position that a ski has a natural life of less than three years, and with our generous warranty, we deprive the shop of the chance to sell a replacement pair to that customer. In addition, certain unsavory customers might intentionally damage their Liberty Skis close to the end of their useful life in order to claim a warranty replacement. In these cases we allow the shops themselves to be the party that authorizes the replacement. Simply, if the shop agrees that the customer’s case should be covered under warranty (and it is within the three year period), we will fulfill it. Note that the three year warranty is based on model year, rather than date purchased, in order to keep record keeping to a minimum. Thus the models listed to the right are under warranty until September 1, when a new model is officially released, at which time the oldest model year ceases coverage. Note that Liberty Skis does NOT consider damage to skis caused by urban use (including but not limited to handrails, concrete steps, etc.) or excessive park use to be covered under warranty. As always, please direct any warranty questions that you might have to Liberty Skis management.

Liberty Skis warrants to the original, retail purchaser our products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of three (3) years from the effective date of manufacture. The effective date of manufacture is September 1 of the model year in which the product was produced. Product purchased from a non-authorized Liberty Dealer or from any other source, will not be covered under this warranty. Proof of purchase (e.g. receipt of purchase from authorized Liberty dealer) must accompany claim. Liberty Skis’s obligation under this limited warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of any product or parts thereof, which shall be deemed to be defective, in Liberty's sole and final judgment. Under no circumstances shall Liberty Skis be held liable for death or injuries to persons, damage to property, or for incidental, contingent or consequential damages or expenses arising from the use of Liberty Skis products. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from accident, abuse, negligence, impact, repairs or alterations outside of our facility, improper mounting of bindings, or any manner inconsistent with the intended use of the product, and is subject to specific terms and limitations as specified in this document. Specifically, our warranty does not cover: a) impact damage caused by rails, boxes, rocks, stumps, any other man made objects, or any other contact with a surface other than snow, b) scratches, chips, cosmetic blemishes or indentations on the topsheet, sidewalls, edges or bases, and/or c) damage to the product caused by adjustment or removal of bindings, including binding mountings pulled out of the product. Liberty Skis dealers are not authorized to make warranty evaluations and Liberty Skis is not bound by any statements made by such dealers. Products returned for warranty service shall be inspected by Liberty Skis. If the problem is judged by Liberty Skis to be due to a factory defect, we will repair, or replace (with an identical or reasonably equivalent product) the product at our expense, or we may elect to refund the purchase price. The purchaser is responsible for binding removal, remounting, and shipping charges to Liberty Skis. If Liberty determines that there is no defect resulting from causes within the scope of this warranty, storage and/or return of the product will be at the customer’s expense.
