Paper Plumeria Step-by-Step Guide
Created for Downtown Summerlin’s Mothers Day Celebration
Step 1: Cut the Petals
Download the Paper Plumeria Template. Cut each petal, making sure to cut within the solid line to avoid showing the black outline. Cut all 10 petals first so you have extras in case a petal was not cut with clean edges. Pro Tip: You may also color all of the petals first before cutting them. Experiment on different ways that works best for you.
Step 2: Color the petals
Once the petals are cut, color the bottom, pointy part using an upward stroke. You may use pastel or regular school crayon. The goal is to have a gradual coloring that goes from a dark shade to a lighter shade. Color from the pointy tip of the petal and gradually go up about a quarter of the way. Use yellow as shown below or any other fun color you’d like! Repeat the same process on all ve petals.
*Pro Tip! I prefer to use pastel which is an oil based art medium so I can easily blend it out or with another color that I choose.*

Step 3: Form the Petals
Once the petals are colored, use your fingers to gently curl each of the top portion of the petal using an outward motion as shown below. You may have to do multiple, outward strokes to get the desired curve. Repeat the same process on all five petals.
Step 4: Assemble the Flower
Once petals are curled, apply glue on the lower left portion of the rst petal. Attach the bottom right portion of the next petal over the first petal, with both tips touching at the center. Press and hold the area where the glue was applied to make sure the two petals adhere securely. Repeat the same process with the rest of the petals. Once all the petals are attached, gently cup the flower so it has a dip in the middle. Check each petal and reapply glue on areas that may have come off when the last petal was attached to close the gap of the flower. Tada! You have just created a paper plumeria for Mom!
*Pro Tip! A dual temperature glue gun in low setting is ideal for beginners and best to avoid burns.*
