You will complete 600 hours of work placement to complete the HNC and 800 hours to complete the HND. During the course, you will complete units such as early years curriculum, play and learning and creating safe environments in early years.

Nathan completed our level 3 Extended Diploma in I.T, achieving triple distinction. He then progressed onto a higher apprenticeship in IT which led to him gaining a HND in Computing & Systems Development. After completing a level 3 Extended Diploma at Warrington Collegiate, I chose to progress onto the HNC/D here because of the high standards in teaching. HNC/D • Part-time/Full-time Working closely with local creative industries, you will develop your practice in acting or dance. This programme offers students a broad training in a variety of acting and dance principles. For dance, this includes: choreography, jazz, urban and action research. For acting this includes: text based theatre, rehearsal technique and action research. Our Performing Arts department has produced work for a National Theatre Festival, Culture Warrington and the U:Dance festival.

It will give you the opportunity to develop theoretical understanding of the barriers that affect sport performance and how to broaden participation in sport. You will also be given the opportunity to plan and deliver coaching sessions.

Association of Accounting Technician Level 4 • Part-time/Full-time Gaining an AAT qualification could open up a world of opportunities for you. Accounting Technicians can be found in all industries including the public sector, private sector and independent accountancy practices.
What qualifications do I need?
You would normally be expected to have completed the level 3 diploma course. If you have several years accountancy experience at managerial level you may be able to proceed directly on to the level 4 diploma, following a successful interview and completion of both the AAT online skills check and an initial assessment.
What can I do after the course?
Many of our students progress on to professional accountancy courses such as CIMA or ACCA. The level 4 diploma qualification grants exemptions from the majority of the foundation units on the professional courses. Alternatively, you could choose to go on and study for a degree in an accounting or finance related subject. To qualify as a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (MAAT), it is necessary to complete AAT levels 3 & 4 and to have completed 3 years accounting or financial work experience.

This course is designed for you if you are currently working in a human resources role. It is also suitable for you if you are hoping to change career or for line managers or team leaders who need further knowledge of the human resources activities in an organisation. Learners who have been in a general supervisory role have found the course extremely beneficial in the past.
The course is for you if you are seeking to develop a career in HR Management and you are currently working at the level of human resources adviser or manager.

What qualifications do I need?
You will be individually assessed by the course tutor.
A level 3/4 qualification in HR or management, or alternatively a degree in any subject. An interview with the course leader is essential and it is advantageous to be working in HR or have access to a HR department to help with the assessment process.

On completion of this course you will gain associate membership of the CIPD. The next stage would be to go onto the CIPD level 5 intermediate course.
This qualification is an entry qualification often helping students to access employment in HR roles. 36

The course will enable you to become a student member of the CIPD and once you have successfully completed your studies, you will be able to apply to become an associate member of the Institute. You may be able to progress onto the CIPD level 7.
You can choose to complete 2 more units to top up your certificate to a diploma. This is a separate course run at Warrington Collegiate.

Level 5 • Part-time The course is designed for you if you are seeking to develop a career in Learning & Development and/or HR, and are currently carrying out the role of Learning & Development manager or HR adviser.
What qualifications do I need? At least a level 3/4 qualification in one of the following: • Learning & Development, or • Human Resources, or • Management, or • A degree or equivalent work experience An interview with the course leader is essential. It is advantageous to be working in Learning & Development /HR or have access to an Learning & Development /HR department to help with the assessment process.

Registration onto the course will enable you to become a student member of the CIPD and once you have successfully completed your studies you will be able to apply to become an associate member of the Institute. You may be able to progress onto the CIPD level 7.

This introductory course is for you if you wish to develop an understanding of counselling theory, as well as developing a range of counselling skills. The course will introduce you to three models of counselling and will equip you with the listening and communication skills you need for both the work environment and personal life.
This informative course will advance your counselling skills, personal development and further knowledge on counselling theory and ethical principles.
What qualifications do I need? There are no formal entry requirements to study this course, although you will need to demonstrate that you have the necessary ability and commitment to successfully complete the course. What can I do after the course? After successfully completing the level 2 course, you can progress onto the level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills. To study the level 4 Counselling Diploma, you need to have successfully completed the level 3 Counselling Certificate. What can I do after the course? The level 3 award is a short introductory course which prepares new entrants for teaching in the lifelong learning sector. If teaching, tutoring or training is part of your remit, you may be required to progress to a further qualification appropriate to your role.
This is an ‘in service’ qualification designed for those working or wishing to work as a teacher/ trainer in England. It may be possible for preservice teachers/trainers (defined as those who are not formally contracted as teachers/ trainers) to also complete this qualification. It is preferred that all learners, whether pre-service or in-service, have access to teaching on either a paid or voluntary basis.

English is the entry qualification for study & life
GCSE English Language
Most universities ask for a GCSE in English Language and/or GCSE maths at grade C or above (grade 4 under the new grading system), in addition to a level 3 qualification.
GCSE English Language is assessed in two exams at the end of the academic year, usually in June. The course is split into two main areas of study:
We want to ensure that every single one of our students has the qualifications they need to go on to the degree or career of their choice. If you do not already have GCSE English and/ or maths at grade C or above (grade 4 under the new grading system), you will be able to work towards this alongside your qualification. This will be discussed with you during your admissions interview. We have a number of courses available for students to help them reach their full potential in English and maths.
Component 1:
20th century reading and creative writing;

19th and 21st century non-fiction reading and transactional/persuasive writing. Both components assess reading and writing skills. You will be assessed on your ability prior to enrolling on this course. This course is designed as an introduction to, and preparation for, GCSE English. It includes aspects of English that you need to know about in order to be best prepared for a GCSE English course. You will have the opportunity to practice reading, writing, speaking and listening skills across a range of tasks and topics.
