SOCIO-CULTURAL INFRASTRUCTURES

Slow mountain mobility and Mountain Hubs

Starting from the fragmentation of the existing condition, the project aims to give an original value and a new economic meaning to the mountain mobility system. The definition of the five rings, differentiated by the type of infrastructure, activity, length, and difficulty, reorganizes the modenese part of Monte Cimone, giving it a new tourist-recreational attraction.

The five-ring system runs parallel to a points strategy. In it, three types of common, consolidated, and recognizable spatial configurations are identified, potentially capable of giving life to places of collective use, catalysts of a wider social and cultural resonance.

The three punctual places of the project are defined as Hubs, a concept that invites the observer to deconstruct the widespread paradigm that conceives the city and the mountains as two different and distant identities. In this case, the quality of the project is entrusted to the enhancement of the current spatial conformation, through simple and concrete interventions capable of generating a clear and effective response to places designed for the congregation of communities.
