After a long period of depopulation, in 2006 the Nuto Revelli Foundation decided to acquire and recover it in order to create and make available to the community, schools and the general public a physical and dynamic place-witness of a double memory: that of the Resistance and that of rural mountain life.

A sustainable return to life, culture and work in the mountains.

Paraloup is today an open-air laboratory for a sustainable return to life, culture and work in the mountains, a return guided by an awareness and sensitivity to the historical memory of the people who inhabited this place, which hosted a very particular form of Resistance, a “Community Resistance,” and which today declines among its huts this vocation in its strongly hybrid, experimental and multidisciplinary nature.

The recovery of Paraloup has fostered not only the architectural restoration of the hamlet, but also the revalorization of the area, demonstrating the economic sustainability of an integrated system of activities (tourist-cultural, agro-sylvopastoral, artisan...) that starting from its central core reverberates throughout the surrounding area.
