A STYLE AND DYNAMIC

5 Imagine that you walk into a Marriott but, it doesn’t look like any other you’ve seen. After your first step inside you feel your body filling with color and joy, with a whole new Marriott vibe. A young but classic vibe, with a unique personality that emerged from the design of the best hostels around the world. This vibe keeps you on the move and inspires you to explore the rest of the hostel, in this process you find your room, where a perfectly balanced space awaits. Once inside you focus your sight on the wall, at an eye catching mural full of textures, colors and shapes. As you keep looking, you notice something different, a set of contours inside the wall that lead you to do something you’ve never done, peel of a part of the wall, and as you do, a chair begins to materialize, a small and light object, which adds the perfect touch to your room. But it doesn’t stop there, this concept translates to the room next to you, and helps you to connect with the people living the same experience. We know that what makes a hostel unique is the experience of chairing with others. UPTI gives you this insight, you can move it around and is relax, recline, sit and enjoy with different people, who once were strangers and now your best of pals. UPTI allows you to create spaces where you will share your trip and create memories, where you all can play, drink, rest, work or just take a perfect selfie to share.

WHERE DID THE IDEA COME FROM? When we think about the hotel – hostel fusion, an explosion of ideas, concepts and experiences come to mind, traveling becomes more than special, an illusion that everyone is looking for, a place where you can get the perfect picture, where you will find your other half, or perhaps just a place were you will be able to really relax and disconnect your self. With UPTI we try to connect it all, to give millennial’s that place an object were they can travel and live an experience in every corner, including their very own room, and eliminate that constant FOMO that we all seem to have.

ADDED VALUE With UPTI there is no such thing as “just a chair” it will always be more that that, it will be a game, an experience and more. It’s an object that creates a bond between the guest and the hostel by giving them the choice of how, where and who to use it with. On the other hand, we created an alliance with local artists who are willing to design the different mural where the UPTI chair “hides”. The fact that the artist are local, embodies the very principle of hostels, to capture the essence of the place you’re at.

UP + BRAND AREA

ILUSION The name UPTI is born by the combination of the words “up” and “illusion” blended together to make a fun, short and easy to say name, qualities we believe shares with the chair itself it being an easy, fun and ready too use chair and most of all a chair thought as an experience. On the other hand, we wanted a name that reflected the idea that the chair was “up in the wall” hidden in a painting or mural given the optical illusion that it wasn’t there.

13 Los colores e ilusiones que tienen las sillas causan sensación, generan espacios únicos, espacios creados por ti y tus nuevos amigos, mezclando y cambiando el espacio a medida que se va uniendo un amigo más. El ambiente que construyes se comienza a tornar en ese lugar donde vas a jugar, comer, descansar, admirar y disfrutar de compañía, el lugar para una foto perfecta, una foto que logre demostrar lo que viviste en ese lugar y las memorias que siempre llevarás contigo.
