Blue Water Highway comes from the working class, coastal town background that has informed the work of so many classic American musicians. They take their name from the roadway that links their hometown of Lake Jackson, Texas to Galveston, where the cops, the teachers, and the chemical plant workers travel to work hard and to play hard, blowing off steam, dancing to their favorite bands. Blue Water Highway’s music is the soundtrack for their lives.

Read & Recommend

September 1st - 30th

All Month Long Location: Teen Space NO REGISTRATION

Twenty years after the attacks, with terrorism still a threat today, the events of 9/11 and its aftermath remind us that we may never be able to prevent all the actions of people intent on harming others, but we do have control over how we respond to such events. Whether by volunteering in our local communities, serving our nation in the military, caring for the sick, or through other efforts, all of us can help build the world in which we want to live. As we witness history unfolding in our own time, the ways we choose to respond—both large and small—can demonstrate the best of human nature after even the worst of days.

Read a book and recommend a book. If you have discovered a new favorite book or author, feel free to share it with your peers. Fill out the recommendation form and stick it on the board. Be sure to take a look at what books other people have recommended…you may find a new favorite!

This 9/11 Memorial & Museum curated exhibition reflects the core pillars of commemoration, education, and inspiration as we prepare to observe the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
