Canva Workshop: Invitations

Bookmarked Book Club

Learn to create personalized invitations for any occasion, from elegant wedding invitations to vibrant birthday cards. We’ll guide you through Canva’s user-friendly interface, as you learn how to customize templates, incorporate images, and add special touches that reflect your unique style.

It’s National Alfred Hitchcock Day! Celebrate by joining us for a marathon of the legendary “Master of Suspense,” in Alfred Hitchcock Presents. This Emmy Award-winning murder-mystery series includes stellar guest stars and stories of terror with mind-boggling twists and devious thrills.

Five attendees are selected for a month-long writing retreat at a remote estate, where they must complete an entire novel from scratch, and the best one will receive a seven-figure publishing deal. But then the women begin to die.

Quilt Show

Saturday, March 9th • 10am-2pm Location: Auditorium NO REGISTRATION Exhibit a quilt of your own or stop in to see the ones on display. Members of quilt clubs will be here to demonstrate quilting techniques, and offer useful quilting tips. See our website on how to enter a quilt and for more information.

Boys in the Band: Alabama Tribute Band Thursday, March 21st • 6-7:30pm Location: Auditorium NO REGISTRATION

In 1969 three cousins in Fort Payne, Alabama, joined their talents to create Down Home country music. Young Country became Wild Country who played for seven years as the house band in Myrtle Beach, SC, at a beachside bar called The Bowery. There they would change their name to Alabama, hit it big with their first number one record Tennessee River, and the rest is history. Boys in the Band also hail from Fort Payne, Alabama, and aim to give the Alabama experience to lifelong fans, and introduce the younger generations to the magic of Alabama’s timeless music. The Alabama Tribute show is a high-energy show with note for note renditions of Alabama’s live performances over their fifty-year reign as the greatest country music group of all time. There will never be another Alabama, but Boys in the Band aims to keep sharing the music and showmanship made famous by their small-town heroes.

True Crime: Keddie Cabin Murders Movie Matinee: Coal Miner’s Daughter Wednesday, March 20th • 1-3pm Location: Auditorium NO REGISTRATION

An amazing true story based on the book by Loretta Lynn. The adaptation, with its incredible cast, resulted in a remarkable tale of a rousing love affair and a woman’s triumph in making her name in the world. This movie is rated PG.

The Keddie murders are an unsolved quadruple homicide that occurred over the night of April 11– 12, 1981 in Keddie, California, United States. The victims were Glenna Susan “Sue” Sharp, daughter Tina Louise Sharp, son John Steven Sharp, and John’s friend Dana Hall Wingate.

Amelia Earhart, one of the first female pilots, rocked the skies by being the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean and zip across the entire United States – talk about girl power! We’ll have a fun afternoon learning all about Amelia’s amazing accomplishments, making a fun craft, and celebrating all of the awesome achievements of women in history!

Homeschool History Fair

Monday, March 11th • 9am-12pm Location: Auditorium NO REGISTRATION Love history? The Homeschool History Fair is the place for you! There will be four grade categories. K-2, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th, and 9th -12th. There will be three winners within each category, with the overall winner taking home the BIG TROPHY! The history fair set up is from 9-10am. Judging will begin at 10am. Participants must be present for judging. The awards ceremony will begin at 12pm. A Homeschool History Fair entry form can be downloaded from the library website, or can be picked up in the children’s department. Entry forms may be turned in the morning of the History Fair.

Kentucky Living History

Thursday, March 7th • 1pm and 6pm Location: Auditorium NO REGISTRATION Listen, laugh, and learn with Kentucky Shakespeare! Journey through time with the actors as they uncover the impressive history of Kentucky! During this interactive show, we’ll meet some famous Kentuckians and learn about their amazing contributions to our nation.
