True Crime Case: Edward Theodore Gein

Edward Theodore Gein, infamously dubbed the Butcher of Plainfield or the Plainfield Ghoul, was an American murderer and body snatcher whose heinous acts sent shockwaves through the nation. Gein’s chilling crimes unfolded in the quiet town of Plainfield, Wisconsin, in 1957, catapulting him into the realm of infamous notoriety.
The discovery of his macabre collection, meticulously crafted from exhumed corpses obtained from local graveyards, horrified the public. Utilizing bones and skin, Gein fashioned grotesque trophies and keepsakes, further revealing the depths of his depravity. Disturbingly, Gein also confessed to the murders of two women: the respected tavern owner, Mary Hogan, in 1954, and the unsuspecting hardware store owner, Bernice Worden, in 1957.
