Join us for an informative class led by Janet Greene, a passionate healthcare professional with over 10 years of experience in patient advocacy and wellness. You’ll gain a better understanding of Parkinson’s and learn strategies for managing symptoms through medication, medical procedures, and most importantly, an active and positive lifestyle. Janet will share her personal experience and provide insights on how you can take an active role in your own wellness, empowering both patients and caregivers. This class will provide valuable resources to help you live well today and for many years to come. This program will conclude with a light lunch.

Star Wars Spelling Bee

You may know Kenobi starts with a K or Wookiee has two E’s at the end, but how are you when it comes to spelling the hard Star Wars words? Compete against teams of up to 3 people to find out if the Force is with you. The winning team will receive a prize and serious bragging rights. You must pre-register your team to participate by contacting Susan or Megan at the library. Guests who come to watch the event don’t need to register.

Bring your camp chairs and join us as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of this classic family movie. When Scottie Smalls moves to a new neighborhood, he manages to make friends with a group of kids who play baseball at the sandlot. The new gang of friends finds themselves caught in many adventures, including getting a prized ball back from the menacing neighborhood dog. This movie is rated PG.

Paws on Adventure: A Journey into the World of Mushing and Sled Dogs

Join us for unforgettable stories of journeying through the rugged and awe-inspiring landscape of Alaska as Musher, Karen Land, and her trusted Alaskan Husky, Noggin, visit the library. Learn about the thrill of riding on the runners of a sled, and guiding a team of magnificent dogs across the vast Alaskan terrain.

As a three-time participant in the grueling 1000mile Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, Land has a wealth of knowledge to share. She has also competed in numerous sprint and endurance races. With her vast experience, Land will answer questions, from caring for a team of Alaskan Huskies to whether your dog has what it takes to be a sled dog.

The Rope Warrior

Guinness World Record Holder David Fisher, The Rope Warrior, will bring an entertaining and interactive jump rope show to our stage. His jump rope tricks, stunts, extraordinary speed and record-breaking jumps have been seen on over 100 national TV programs, including The Today Show, Good Morning America, The NBC Nightly News, SportsCenter, and CNN. His agility and skill have also won him the title of World’s Greatest Rope Jumper by Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!

Watch our veteran video tributes from past oral history projects, along with stories and pictures submitted by families who gave a voice to those who are no longer with us.

Author, Victor Edwards, will also join us at the event for a signing of his book, A Corpsman Story: A Journey Through the Valley of the Shadow of Death. The book tells of his experiences in Vietnam, the challenges of battle, and the mental and emotional roller coaster of grief and loss.

True Crime: Susan Marie Powell

Susan Marie Powell is an American missing person from West Valley City, Utah, whose disappearance and presumed murder, as well as the subsequent investigation and events, garnered national media attention. The Powell case is still an open cold case under investigation.
