APOLLO BEACH MARINE YOUTH CONSERVATION CENTER & SUNCOAST FISH POND
Bandes Construction and FleischmanGarcia were retained to design and construct the Suncoast Youth Conservation Center with accompanying fish pond. The 6,000 sq. ft. center features a metal building with masonry walls, metal roof, wood ramps and walkways, and crushed concrete access road. It also includes all utilities, sidewalks planting irrigation, site grading, extensive fill requirements, manatee viewing dock and a unique turtle elevator. This project serves as a fully-functioning animal hospital in a marine evironment. The Suncoast Fish Pond was added as an enhancement. PASCO COUNTY UTILITIES ADMINISTRATION AND OPERATIONS FACILITY
FleischmanGarcia was retained by Pasco County to design a two-story, 50,000 sq. ft. customer serviceoriented facility. The facility provides space for the administrative and various operational functions of the Pasco County Utilities Services Branch. It was designed as an environmentally friendly, low maintenance, highly energy efficient building with an extensive communication infrastructure. PASCO COUNTY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DATA CENTER
FleischmanGarcia was retained by Pasco County to design a new 24,500 sq. ft., tilt-wall facility to accommodate the staff, equipment, infrastructure and related systems operated by the Information Technology Department of Pasco County Government. In the event of a major storm, this facility will be able to continue daily IT operations uninterrupted while offering a safe, liveable environment for staff for several days, if necessary. A fully hardened building envelope, equipped with kitchens, restrooms, lockers, showers, sleeping spaces, conference rooms and breakout spaces is provided. An emergency generator to provide backup power and all exterior mechanical units are protected from hurricane force winds. SEMINOLE HEIGHTS PUBLIC LIBRARY FleischmanGarcia and Bandes Construction were retained by Hillsborough County to design and construct the new Seminole Heights Library, located on the site of the former 6,000 sq. ft. library in historic Seminole Heights district. The two-story, 20,000 sq. ft. facility was designed to be architecturally compatible to the historic structures in the neighborhood, such as the historic Hillsborough High School, the Seminole Heights Garden Club, and the prevalent bungalow homes. The new library features brick, cast stone details, a standing seam metal roof, an entry porch, and a second floor balcony/terrace overlooking Central Avenue with an arched truss above. The Library has three Community meeting rooms, Friends of the Seminole Heights Library room and cafe, library staff workroom and lounge, and public restrooms on the first floor. A two-story lobby allows people entering the building to see the activity in the library on the second floor. Both a grand staircase and dual elevators will provide convenient access to the library above. PROGRESS VILLAGE RECREATION CENTER AT LARRY SANDERS COMPLEX
Bandes Construction was retained to construct a new, 9,600 sq. ft. one-story multipurpose gymnasium building built next to an existing recreation building, together with technical site requirements. Exterior awnings, roadwork, drainage, sports floors and other athletic finish components were utilized in order to provide recreational services for a urban area in the City of Tampa. CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER’S RESUME Jeremy Brown As Field Project Manager, Mr. Brown offers very strong experience in retail construction with his exceptional management skills from the project bid phase to closeout. Mr. Brown’s history at Bandes Construction has been successful with completion of retail stores, car dealerships and restaurants while following strict plans and specs that exceeded owner expectations.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE PROGRESS VILLAGE RECREATION CENTER AT LARRY SANDERS COMPLEX Tampa, FL Jeremy is currently working as project manager for a 15,000 S.F. one-story recreation building which includes a 7,000 S.F. multipurpose gymnasium. The Progress Village Recreation Center is a $2.3m project.

RUSKIN AREA RECREATION CENTER Tampa, FL Jeremy is currently working as project manager for a 9,600 S.F. one-story multipurpose gymnasium building to be constructed adjacent to an existing building. Project scope is for site improvements at $1.7m. EAST COUNTY REGIONAL SERVICE CENTER Tampa, FL Jeremy recently finished a year-long, ground-up, two-story building with major utility, storm drainage, and sitework, along with a large parking lot. We were required to relocate a gas main and complete extensive drainage work during the first month of construction. The new facility sits on the same site as the old facility, which is located on a prominent corner in Plant City. THREE WAWA PROJECTS Tampa, St. Pete, Wesley Chapel Jeremy has been servicing Wawa as an organization since their arrival into Florida approximately four years ago. Since then, he has completed four ground-up gas and food-service oriented convenience stores with highly technical requirements. The MEP and gas line requirements in these facilities are tremendous, and the construction schedule necessitates extensive coordination with Wawa’s internal vendors.

PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT’S RESUME Tony Pattakos Mr. Pattakos has a strong, practical, common-sense method of construction with highly relevant trade experience. His excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail make him an asset on all types of commercial projects. Mr. Pattakos works in conjunction with the project manager on quality control during design and construction, and he coordinates day-to-day scheduling. He is also responsible for project closeout. Mr. Pattakos has proven success with on-time, quality delivery of commercial projects.

Hillsborough County Water Resources Services, Tampa This project was constructed under the County’s sustainable green building design initiative, and is the main complex for Hillsborough County’s water resources department. It consists of a two-story administration building of 34,000 SF constructed of “tilt-up” concrete walls and a metal roof system. A 46,000 SF preengineered maintenance building houses an extensive maintenance operation for the department including a monorail hoist system and jib cranes. Bellamy Elementary School, Tampa This three phased interior renovation cost over $3 million and spanned the entire campus of nearly 70,000,000 SF. It took place in three phases, during which an entirely new IT system was installed, requiring close coordination with the low voltage subcontractor. The first and second phases consisted of a full ceiling replacement, HVAC unit relocation, all new casework, and flooring. Phase 3 consisted of administration renovation and cafeteria replacement, including new restrooms. All of it took place while students were occupying the facility. BankUnited Sarasota Southside Tony was the lead superintendent for a major renovation of this high-end retail branch, which included a full building gut, wall reconstruction, new MEP’s, and extensive coordination of bank vendors. Imported finishes and custom exterior steel element rounded out the aesthetic. Progress Village Sports Complex, Tampa FL This 120-acre sports facility is a landmark in the city of Tampa, with full site development and parking was constructed for over 500 vehicles. The opening ceremony for the facility included local politicians and representatives from the Tampa Bay Rays

ARCHITECT’S RESUME Kevin Smith, AIA, LEED®AP Kevin is a principal and senior vice president of FleischmanGarcia with more than 34 years of experience. Kevin received his bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and his Master of Arts in Industrial Design from Purdue University. Over his 34 years with FleischmanGarcia, Kevin has developed an expertise in health and wellness facilities that range from simple county park playgrounds to state-of-theart gymnastics facilities catering to Olympic hopefuls. Kevin has special expertise in buildings with alternative energy systems and sustainable design and received his LEED Professional Accreditation in October of 2007.
