Re: RFP 17-07 | Professional Architectural Services for Performing Arts Instructional Center at Cypress Creek Middle High School Dear Ms. Michelle Swingle and Distinguished Members of the Selection Committee: FleischmanGarcia Architecture is pleased to submit our qualifications to offer our professional architectural services to Pasco County State College for professional architectural services for the Performing Arts Instructional Center at Cypress Creek Middle High School. •

Experience: Our team’s successful past project experience working with various higher educational clients, specifically PHSC, make the FleischmanGarcia Team ideally suited for this project. Some of our satisfied higher educational clients include: • • • • •

Pasco-Hernando State College Hillsborough Community College St. Petersburg College (various campuses) Florida College Stetson University College of Law

• • • •

University of South Florida (Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota-Manatee campuses) Florida State University University of Florida State College of Florida

[FGA] have done a marvelous job of designing our facility and working with our staff. They are extremely professional and operate in a very timely and cooperative fashion... [Mr. Fleischman] and his associates work well within budget with very few change orders. They have been accommodating to our staff’s requests, including making design revisions when necessary. - Robert W. Judson, Jr., Ed. D., Former President, Pasco-Hernando Statge College •

Proven Team: Much care and thought has gone into the selection and assignment of appropriate staff and consultants for the Performing Arts Instructional Center at Cypress Creek Middle High School project. The Team’s personnel and subconsultants were selected not only because of their individual relevant experience, but also because of their availability and personal enthusiasm to “go the extra mile” in performing beyond reasonable expectations. All subscribe to open communication with and between Team members and the PHSC. They are all flexible, accommodating, responsive, and able to work long hours to improve the schedule. Toward that end, our staff and all Team members have all agreed to this level of commitment throughout the project.

Sustainability: FleischmanGarcia Team has successful experience with highly efficient LEED-certified projects. FleischmanGarcia was recently awarded Green Designer of the Year by the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of the US Green Building Council.

Our present and anticipated workload of projects under contract is below our capacity. The firm has 27 staff members in three offices, including nine architects and three LEED® accredited professionals. Our goal is to provide outstanding design and construction services that exceed your expectations. We trust the enclosed documentation will further highlight our exceptional qualifications for this project. We appreciate this opportunity to submit our credentials for your review and look forward to your favorable response. Respectfully,

August 14, 2017 Sol J. Fleischman Jr., AIA, NCARB Chairman and CEO

Out-of-Door Academy Fine Arts Center

FleischmanGarcia was retained to design the new Fine Arts Center for the Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota, Florida. The challenge was for FleischmanGarcia to design a “signature” building with a small footprint to fit on the designated parcel that not only met all programmatic requirements, but provided for future expansion. In addition, the building was to be constructed on a fully occupied campus with a limited construction staging area. FleischmanGarcia designed the Arts Center in strict accordance with the program, including a large expansion space, roughed in, on the second floor. In addition, the building seamlessly ties into the existing covered walkway of the adjacent gymnasium. The Arts Center premier space is a state-of-the-art black box theater. The theater incorporates the latest in sound and light systems, controls, ceiling walking grid, catwalks, etc., and is the premier black box theater in the United States. The 21,000 sq. ft., two-story Arts Center also features a scene shop, art classrooms, a ceramics classroom, graphics classroom, television production facilities, a band room, a choral room and a large, central angular art gallery that connects to a two-story lobby.

Bryan Glazer Family Jewish Community Center

FleischmanGarcia was selected by the Jewish Community Center to design the adaptive re-use of the existing Fort Homer Hesterly Armory, a 1930s vintage Art Deco style armory that was constructed under FDR’s New Deal, and opened in 1941. A new, modern grand entry was designed for the facility, which included an events center, theater, fitness center, gymnasium, aquatics center, locker rooms, and café. Further development of the site was done for parking and outdoor events.

University of Florida Martin H. Levin Advocacy Center

FleischmanGarcia Architecture was chosen by the University of Florida as the architect for the new, 19,476 sf. Martin H. Levin Advocacy Center at the Levin College of Law in Gainesville, Florida. Designed as a cornerstone of the northwest part of the campus, the building’s impressive, two-story lobby will become a highly visible landmark in the community. Containing state of the art technology, this new facility embodies the latest direction today’s sophisticated courtrooms are heading. From a complex audio video system, presentation of evidence is crucial. Each of the seven appointed moderators may view this evidence privately, select specific views, and even control by who and when the evidence is viewed. Because of the elaborate video displays, there isn’t a bad seat in the house. With multiple robotic cameras, and an integrated audio system, the room’s proceedings may be displayed, previewed, and even stored to be reviewed at a later date. The entire facility’s system controls are also modular, and may even be used remotely, through the local area network. Being a learning facility, the courtroom also doubles as a classroom, allowing students the opportunity of experiencing real-world courtroom experience, with the comforts of a hightech classroom. The project was granted LEED Gold certification.
