Max and Freddy have found a new home, and they’re taking to it like they’ve stumbled upon an equine Elysium. The two former Montreal calèche 6 & % the carriage-towing business to live out the rest of their days in comfort at A Horse Tale Rescue (AHT) in VaudreuilDorion. With the ban on horse-drawn carriages in the Old Port of Montreal com & 1 lot of horses that are suddenly in need of new homes, and AHT is happy to be able to provide that for this spirited pair. While the ban has brought out strong voices both for and against, AHT Execu% ' 6 ; % for the debate – a herd now grown to 12 rescued horses is more than enough to keep him occupied. “We’re not here to pass judgement or 6 & > ; “we’re just here for the horses. It there’s a horse that needs our help, we want people to know our door is open.â€? The B & 0 % many horses over the years, including a couple of other former calèche horses and one horse named Maggie who came to them completely emaciated because her teeth don’t line up and she wasn’t able to eat properly with the feed she

All four ĂŽle-Perrot municipalities join forces for new arena project John Jantak The Journal

L’Île-Perrot, Notre-Dame-de-l’ÎlePerrot (NDIP), Pincourt, and TerrasseVaudreuil have teamed up and jointly applied for grants from the federal and provincial governments to build a new hockey arena that will be located in Pincourt, just metres away from the previous arena project that has sat vacant for roughly 20 years. The news was announced in a joint press release that was issued by all four % = !‘+ Pincourt Mayor Yvan Cardinal said the island’s mayors are all united in their desire to have a dedicated arena to serve the needs of all ĂŽle-Perrot residents. Romano Gramegna June 15, 1929 – January 24, 2020 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Romano Gramegna at age 90 on January 24 at home in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec. Beloved husband of 69 years to his wife Maria (Florio), proud father to Marcello Gramegna (Norm Eelnurme), Marisa Gramegna (Wayne Rose), Anita Gramegna (Alain Lavigne), Franca Gramegna (Chris Wichlacz), and his granddaughters Katrine Lavigne (Marc Antoine Ross), Genevieve Lavigne (Richard Jayasuriya), Amber Wichlacz and Kristiina Eelnurme. He was predeceased by his parents Alessandro and Teresa Gramegna and sisters, Angela, Dina and Pia. He has many relatives in Italy and Switzerland that he loved dearly. Viewing will be Friday, January 31, from 2-5 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. at F. Aubry & Fils located at 434 Main Road, Hudson, Quebec J0P 1H0. The funeral services will be on Saturday, February 1 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church located at 413 Main Road, Hudson, Quebec in Canada, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the St. Anne’s Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. 16
