Urbanistic Project

The following work, developed in the course of TPI-III, involves a set of surveys, studies and analyzes of the region recognized as initial training area of the city of Bauru which houses an entire rail, commercial and historic complex. Here, we intend to draw up guidelines for solution of the demands identified in the intervention area. We see that already in the 1970s there was untying the railroad as a centrality and a non division of land planning. in fact, this model persisted and today we find the same problems that cause a great demand for transport, green areas, socializing space, urban mobility, accessibility, housing, work, education, health, leisure, among others. However, it is possible to realize that the underutilized railway, and the poor essential services (water, sewage, electricity, etc.) are real opportunities for a current urban planning.

Urbanistic directives 1 – Creation of a park in an empty area of Bauru’s train area, with landscape, urbanistic and architectonic values 2 – Creation of highways and streets in inferior levels in the boards of the park, embracing the train area. 3 – Transposition of the cargo train trails out of the urban area and revitalization the passengers train. 4 – Creation of multimodal terminals. 5 – Creation of bus lines and bus stops in the park area. 6 – Creation of bicycle path in the urban and park area. 7 – Creation of permeable areas and areas of flooding in the park, with water drainage area. 8 – Revitalization of preservation areas. 9 – Revitalization of the hydric system of the neighborhoods. 10 – Increasing of plantation of native trees in arid areas. 11 – Integration of the landscape of the park with the neighborhood. 12 – Increase the identification of the neighborhood with landscape attributes (color of the trees). 13 – Creation of public urban equipment in empty areas of the urban area. 14 – Removal of physical barriers from the borders of the train area. 15 – Increase the importance of Rodrigues Alves Avenue in the urban area. 16 – Installation of urban necessities in the urban area. 17 – Incentive of construction of houses in downtown, and preservation of the existents one. 18 - Increase the social housing in abandoned constructions of the downtown area and in the border of the park. 19 – Incentive to social diversity in the intervention area. 20 – Incentive to creation of cultural buildings in the park and neighborhood area. 21 – Incentive to nightlife in the area. 22 – Creation of schools and health posts following the neighborhood necessity. 23 – Creation of parking buildings in the urban area. 24 – Recovery of the historical sites in accordance with the Venice Latter. 25 – Utilization of some historical buildings as public spaces for cultural and educational propose in the park area. 26 – Give privilege to the pedestrian.

O Gradiente

Project in Layers:

(midterm)

The Gradiente is a building which shape is essentially based on the lighting. The skin covering the entire building consists of triangular oppenings for solar incision. Depending on the need of sun, more leaked is the structure, creating a gradient on the facade, that goes from the Greenhouse to the Grocery Store. The Space will be used as a rental space, and the placement of the spaces will be based on functions. The site of the construction comes almost as a necessity. The site is placed between Morisson and Federal, in Denver, and has direct contact with Alameda, which allows an incredible access. The size of the site is big and inserted in the zoning area for business, which allows to create a big project with quality. In addition, the site has contact with five bus lines, which possibilities the harmony with the public transportation.

O Gradiente

Following up with O Gradiente from the midterm, this final project for Studio V had a focus in flexibility and structural logic. The work premises was how to create more possibility and profit on the space that we had, using our program of a grocery store, green house and restaurant, and from this premise the entire project raised. Starting from the flexibility of the space that was solved with the wall and flor system using modular systems that are able to create several different formations inside the space, passing by the structural system using the same modular system of the roof and floor with truss and beans. At the end, O Gradiente was a great project and very appreciated by the professor, students, architects, and designers that came to judge the projects.
