While you can’t go wrong baking them into flaky summer pies, stirring them into steel-cut oatmeal, or serving them sautéed with scoops of vanilla ice cream, they’re just as delicious in savory dishes. I like to add slices to grain salads, chop them up for salsa, or puree them into barbecue sauce. How sweet is that? — OPRAH
