AGRICULTURE IN MILANO
In the past decade, policy in favour og strengthening the role of urban agriculture implemented by Milanese institutions and the numerous initiatives that have been promoted has also brought benefits to the maintenance of agricultural heritage. Restoration and recovery actions that followed the agrarian contract renewal avoided collapse of tangible agricultural heritage; the confirmation of agricultural heritage; the confirmation of agricultural land in urban planning allowed farmers to maintain a good quality of open spaces for citizen and perpetuate the original link between agricultural buildings and their fields, namely, the historical landscape system. The municipal support for network creation among farmers reinforced their role in the society and encouraged their involvement in the transmission of traditional agricultural techniques. Citizens increased the sense of community through revival of agricultural celebrations and the involvement in horticultural activities. The effects of the policies towards agricultural heritage are analysed on a sample of historiacl farmsteads and agricultural fields owned by Milan municipality.

CLUSTERS - MIND MILANO SITE
Taking a good look into the area where MIND is concentrated, we map the different agricultural functions and try to create a hierarchy amongst it. In the maps, there are shown agricultural sites, new green areas and existing green areas. The functions of these lands differentiate from one location to another, where commercial is ranked as the main one, followed by parks, green land, transports, residential, services and hospital.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
BRING BACK THE FIELDS IN-BETWEEN THE BUILT
WHY?
In the city of Milan, an area of lifeless land fill within concrete, is thought to be successfully restored into a greenery where nature and people harmoniously share the meeting of fresh water and fresh air. The process tends to demonstrate the success of form following the ecological processes to produce a designed ecotone that speeds up the natural process of rehabilitation. So many years of ruthless development has left this site a mess of desctruction in terms of landscape. Lately, it is decided to make dramatic changes and we try to design a demonstration project. What we dealing of in this site, is related to medium scale of the whole site. The design objectives are to rehabilitate the earth and access; public accessibility with natural restoration integrated.
