A mug is for Life not just for Lochearnhead!

The West Highlands It has come to the attention of the Station Master’s office that poor little mugs are being abandoned around the station after just one drink!

Warm sunshine mainly north and west; gusty southeasterly wind

If you find a mug around the station please pick it up and show that it can by loved by taking it back to the dining room and washing it up.

How Windy? Southerly, in the range 25 to 35mph gusts up to 45mph.

This poor little mug had to spend the night out in the cold before he was rescued, please help prevent another mug from suffering this fate!

How Wet? Bursts of heavy rain and thunderstorms from time to time.

Cloud on the hills? Cloud base will vary; lowest and most persistent Loch Lomond NP, where cloud may often be below 450m and rarely above 750m. Elsewhere, breaks may develop to higher summits, particularly N Lochaber, but still below 600m at times.

Scout Earns Bravery Award Scouts Alex C and Dan B where given the ‘Bravery Award’ by Patrols E & F for their outstanding effort in overcoming the challenges presented by the Vertical Rock Face before them while on the climbing and abseiling trip. Occasional glimpses of sunshine. Hazy throughout the day, and widely foggy across the hills, especially south.

Other Quotes included:  Great views.  Weather – Very nice!  Fun, exciting, Scary and challenging.  Isaac Snoozed in the sun.  Spiderman William.  Richard and Sam were awesome Climbers!

How Cold? o 9 C (at 900m) o 17 C (at Station)

Goodie and Hartley were very impressed with the effort from all the scouts.

The Advance Party Works Hard to Set up Station! A reliable inside source has informed us, that some of the leaders have not been as hard working as they would like us to believe. The Advanced party came up a day early to make sure the station was ready for your arrival, but 2 members of it spent most of their time playing in the local park! Goodies made a statement “but the swings were fun! WEEEEEEEEEE!” unfortunately Jackie was unavailable for comment!

Bottoms up down on Loch Earn

The Adventure of Two Shoes and Thunder Two teenage girls, greatly inspired by Bear Grylls, embark on a new adventure. Our expedition began right here on the luxurious Lochearnhead Station. The mission: to locate and obtain a twirl for Meerkat; double decker and fuses for Derrick, a newspaper for Apryl and stamps for Janet. Our time limit: two hours. Less than a minute in and we had met our first obstacle... STAIRS. There was only one thing for it, drop and roll! We launched ourselves into a new world of Scotland and set off on our hike into Lochearnhead Village. The Post Office was briskly located, mission accomplished? No – it’s closed on Sunday’s. Using the strength in our minds and muscles, we powered on and headed east past the mass array of lochodile nests and the sailing boats. Travelling for what felt like weeks we tortured ourselves to a state of breaking until suddenly.. FIVE AMAZING COLOURS! A new discovery was made. We bravely edged our nervous and sleepy bodies closer and could tell that we had found something truly special! Recycling Bins – textiles, paper and three colours of glass. We were fascinated with our findings and had to send communications back via carrier pigeons.

Sailing was great, the highlights where two small yachts capsizing and revising knots around a campfire that we built earlier on the bank.

Bless me I’m Just a Leader (network)

Our Journey continued to ‘The Place Beginning With A’, our hunger greatened with every step and the temptations of hallucinated oasis’ drove us deeper away from sanity. We were feeling disheartened by the emptiness of the wilderness until a quick chat with locals perked us up – they were funny white fluffy looking. They were very impressed with our attempt at their language and we were invited to join their Big Green Feast. We gratefully declined the offer and changed route. By now starvation had set in.

At the climbing venue Network member Joe was caught napping on the floor.

The Stuffing at Sunday dinner has had an unfortunate affect on the methane levels on station. Please do not light any naked flames on station. (Particularly not in the vicinity of the DC)

Luckily we didn’t have to travel far before reaching reality and knowing we were close to station. A new obstacle... ROAD. Joy was felt by all when Thunder revealed her pocket size zip wire. We zoomed over the dangerous territory and landed safely on the other side. All that was left was a hop, skip and jump before being back and revealing with great big grins that we failed the mission but were happy to go shopping somewhere, anywhere, anytime they needed. All this fun... in only 55 minutes! DO NOT TRY TO UNDERTAKE ANY OF OUR STUNTS. By Two Shoes
