ECONOMIC SESSION 2024

The 2024 Economic Outlook session was held on January 11, 2024, at 35 Adeola Hopewell, Victoria Island. The session was handled expertly by Chinwe Egwim, Johnson Chukwu, Odiri Oginni and Bongo Adi, five renowned economists. Together, they dissected the prevalent situation in Nigeria and made projections based on the data available. The key drivers of the Nigerian economy in 2024 will be in unconventional non-oil sectors such as waste management, professional and administrative services, technical services, scientific services, and real estate. However, firms in the transportation, storage, food and mining sectors are expected to have a challenging year due to inflation and prevalent government policies. Commodities of focus for the year include maize, cocoa, wheat, Brent crude, Bonny Light, and gold.
