Web Lockers What are Sub-directories?

Sub-Directories Uploading Files

Creating a Sub-directory

The easiest organization for Web Lockers is to put your files into sub-directories. A sub-directory is a folder within your main Home Directory. It is best if you can create the subdirectories first.

After you select your main directory, you will select Click here to add a directory at the top of the page. Naming the Sub Directory To begin, click the directory where you would like to place the file you want to upload (Most often your Home Directory).

Adding Files to Sub-directory

You will then give your Sub-directory a Name and an optional Description. Then click Create Directory. Managing Files

After you create your sub-directory, it will appear at the bottom under Opened Directory.

To add a file to that directory, you will need to click the title of your new directory.

Once files have been uploaded to a directory, you have the option to: Download Selected Files: Download the selected file to your computer for editing or saving. (If you make changes, you will have to upload the edited file again). Copy Selected Files: You can copy the file to other directories (a different sub-directory or class).

You can then Browse for your file and click Upload to add it to your sub-directory.

Delete Selected Files: This will remove the file from the opened directory.

Web Lockers Assigning an Assignment

Assigning Assignments Grading Assignments

Selecting Course After selecting Copy Selected Files, the following window will open. You will need to select the check box for the class or classes you want to give the assignment to and select Copy Files to Selected Folders.

After you have uploaded your file, you can then select the check box next to that assignment and select Copy Selected Files. Notification to grade Grading Assignment When you select Homework from the left navigation bar, you will see a list of the assignments that have been turned in. To view the assignment, you need to click the name of the file. You will then get the option to open/save the file. Once you have viewed the assignment, you can grade it. To grade the assignment, you need to select Make Assessment. Make Assessment will only appear after the assignment has been turned in.

After a student has turned an assignment in, you will see a red asterisk (*) next to homework on the left navigation.

After you select the Make Assessment option, the following window will appear. You can then grade the assignment and give the student a message about their assignment. When finished, click Send. After the assignment has been graded, it will disappear from your Homework directory and appear in your Graded Assignments directory.
