JULY - AUGUST 2024
Thorne,

Join the Summer Reading Challenge and Beat Summer Learning Loss

By joining the Summer Reading Challenge and reading 15 minutes each day and completing activities with Lambton County Library, kids can maintain their reading and math skills throughout the summer. Adults can be good role models for the children in their household by participating alongside their children, and also logging their reading in the Adult Summer Reading Challenge.

Sign Up Now for the Summer Reading Challenge

Everyone can participate – kids, teens, and adults! Register online at Lambton.Beanstack.org or at any Lambton County Library. Once registered, participants aged 0-17 can pick up an English or French kit, while supplies last, at their local library. Each kit contains a canvas tote bag, painting supplies, and an activity book. One lucky winner in each age category will find a Golden Ticket hidden inside their kit, redeemable for a special prize.

Community Reading Goal

Last year’s participants in our Summer Reading Challenge surpassed our Community Reading goal by reading 33,630 books! Building on this success, we have set a goal for our community to read 40,000 books during this year’s six-week Summer Reading Challenge. Track your reading in Beanstack or with the help from a library team member to contribute to our goal.

The Summer Reading Challenge runs from Tuesday, July 2 to Sunday, August 11, and incentivizes people of all ages to read and take part in free activities and games for a chance to win prizes. Visit lclibrary.ca/SRC for more information.
