Mimar Environmental Graphic Design was selected to provide signage services for the Capital Rail Constructors. Mimarch will be developing all directional, identity, informational and regulatory signs for six stations. Five stations are at grade stations along the Dulles Parkway and one aerial station will connect with Dulles Airport. The new line-Silver Line will take passengers from Virginia to DC and all the way to Largo Town Center in Maryland, where they can connect to Amtrak at Union Station and at New Carrollton Station. Mimar Environmental Graphic Design performed wayfinding and sign design for rehabilitation of the Orange/Blue line signage to include the third line-Silver.

Mimarch has provided wayfinding and signage services to WMATA for rehabilitation of signs on the Orange/Blue Line. WMATA has found that passengers find the directional messages on the iconic pylon signs to be confusing. New vault wall signs are being installed that include end destination names and station ahead lists to aid in wayfinding. Other signs are being revised using current Sign Design Guidelines. MAI has been involved in developing new methods for implementing the addition of the Silver Line to the Orange/Blue lines. This contract involves rehabilitating signage for 16 stations along the Orange/Blue DC’s Metro.

BWI AIRPORT TERMINAL E EXPANSION Baltimore, MD

Baltimore Washington Airport is in the process of expanding the terminal E for international travel. Mimar Environmental Graphic Design assessed which signs needed to be added, replaced, or moved to best guide visitors through that particular part of the airport. Site visits were conducted along with coordination with other disciplines to insure the accuracy of the wayfinding directional signage.

THE UNIVERSITIES AT SHADY GROVE - EXTERIOR Rockville, MD

Mimarch Environmental Graphic Design worked with The Universities at Shady Grove to update the signage on campus to reflect the addition of a new building. The new signage included pedestrian and vehicular directional signs; four monument identification signs; and building signage. Many of the designs features removable panels to accommodate further growth of the campus.

The Baltimore MTA signs had remained unchanged for 40 years and were oriented more for vehicular traffic rather than for passengers. Mimarch has developed high image signs BUS to used downtown to catch attention. A versatile family of signs NObeSTOPPING STOP has been developed for multiple situations. The new sign system is also utilizing a Bus Tracker system which will STOPPING enable passengers to call MTA andNO determine when the next bus will arrive.

The 134,000 SF building was built with 35 labs for faculty-led research groups. Working directly with Portnoy Levine Design Associates, a coordinated interior sign system was

developed to integrate with the interior finishes. The design Â Â Â criteria guidelines required that an engravable material be utilized, so that the system can be maintained by the university sign shop. Scope of services included a wayfinding analysis of the 4 story building, developing directional signs to coordinate with adjacent campus buildings and room identification signs.
