As we kick off another exciting year, we’re thrilled to offer a diverse array of programs and activities designed to bring our community closer together, encourage active living, and foster personal enrichment. MASON HERITAGE DAY

Take a step back in time at Leander’s Mason Homestead! Join the Parks and Recreation Department along with the Leander Historical Preservation Commission and the Williamson Museum for this free community event for all ages. Enjoy food and fun while learning about the fascinating history of the region. Bring the whole family for pioneer demonstrations of roping, branding, candle making, planting, and more!

SPRING FLING

Join us for a magical day for all ages featuring bounce houses, photo ops with the Easter Bunny, and even real unicorns you can ride! Experience the fun doing crafts and bubbles, and don’t miss the Children’s Entrepreneur Market, where young entrepreneurs (ages 5-17) showcase their talents with unique crafts and treats. It’s a day full of wonder and fun for the whole family!

SPRING FAMILY CAMPOUT

Enjoy a night under the stars at Devine Lake Park! Friday night includes fun yard games, fishing, hot dog cookout, s’mores, and movie on the big screen. After setting up tents and camping out, wake up in the morning to a hot breakfast prepared by our amazing folks in the Parks Department.

KITE FESTIVAL

Kick off the summer with our annual Kite Festival at Devine Lake Park. This is a free community event for all ages. Activities include kite flying, food vendors, and lots of high-flying fun! Bring your own kite or bring the family to watch other kites soar.

In collaboration with the Leander Public Arts and Culture Commission, the City of Leander commemorates Juneteenth with a block party at Robin Bledsoe Park. This free, family-friendly event is jam-packed with musical performances, food and craft vendors, and a fun zone.

LIBERTY FEST

NATIONAL TROPICAL FRUIT DAY

Celebrate with a taste of the tropics and a free drum fitness class! Enjoy a delicious selection of complimentary tropical fruits and join us for an energetic drum fitness session to get your body moving. CARDBOARD REGATTA

The Cardboard Regatta is a fun and creative event where participants design, build, and race boats made entirely of cardboard and tape! This thrilling competition challenges teams to test their engineering skills and creativity while navigating their handmade vessels across the pool. All ages are welcome to participate in or attend the first cardboard boat race at Bledsoe Pool. We will have music, games, awards and prizes during the event.

*Pre-registration is needed for the event due to needing a minimum of 5 boats to participate.

CRYSTAL FALLS GOLF CLUB

Crystal Falls Golf Club is an 18-hole municipal golf course located in Leander, Texas. Our mission is to offer an unrivaled golf experience while consistently providing exemplary customer service and an exceptional value to our guests. We honor the game of golf by upholding its grand traditions and values while embracing the progress and innovation that shape the future of this great sport. Recognized as one of the top amateur events in the state of Texas, Crystal Falls Golf Club is home to the annual Hill Country Amateur and Junior Amateur Championships. Kinderdance

Campers come together for guided dance, tumbling, story time and crafts.

Camp Curiosity

Each camp day is an immersive, hands-on approach to art and science. Art projects include drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture while science projects allow participants to learn about the world around them.

Sticky Fingers Cooking

For aspiring bakers who love to get their hands sticky in the kitchen. Learn the basics of scratch baking from pies to calzones. Young chefs will enjoy creating sweet and savory baked goods.

Snapology

Snapology of Leander is a highly rated kid’s enrichment program that focuses on science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) concepts. Children engage in hands-on activities using LEGO bricks, robotics kits, technology and other materials with Snapology’s trained instructors to explore the world of STEAM. Karate

Matsumura Seito Shorin-Ryu is a very old, very traditional style of Okinawan Karate. It’s not sport Karate, and tournament competition is not emphasized. Although it is effective for self-defense, the primary objective of our class is preservation of the original Martial art, and development of the individual practitioner through training.

Splash Into Summer

Little Splashers

Little splashers is a block of time reserved for pre-school age children. Tot docks will be placed at the shallow end of the pool and lifejackets will be available to help with water exploration. Preschool age children and their parents/guardians come out and enjoy exclusive access to the pool. All pool rules and fees are still in place.

Sensory Swim Time

Sensory Swim Time is a block of time specifically designed to provide a safe, supportive space where individuals can enjoy the benefits of water activities, such as relaxation, improved motor skills, and enhanced sensory integration, in a way that meets their unique needs. Children with sensory needs, caregivers and families come out and enjoy exclusive access to the pool. All pool rules and fees are still in place.

Dog Days of Summer

Bring your four-legged friends for some fun in the sun at Robin Bledsoe Pool. This day is all about dogs and the last day you can dip your feet in the pool for summer. Games, prizes and fun for all the 2 and 4 legged participants. All dogs must have proof of up-todate vaccinations, including a current rabies shot for entrance to the event.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Course

Gain essential skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies. This comprehensive course also teaches professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Review Course

This recertification course allows currently certified American Red Cross Lifeguards to review and update their knowledge and skills in a formal setting to maintain their certification.

Pool Passes can be purchased online at CivicRec (starting March 1) or at the Robin Bledsoe Pool during normal public swim hours (starting May 24).

Pass holders will be required to show ID upon entry into the pool.

This course teaches students to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. It meets OSHA workplace and other regulatory requirements. Upon successful completion, students receive a valid 2-year digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED.

Rent Pool Cabana

You can reserve the pool cabana online at CivicRec or in person at Bledsoe Pool.

Time slots are 12: 00 pm - 1:50 pm, 2:00 pm - 3:50 pm, and 4:00 pm - 5:50 pm at $20 per time frame for residents / $27 per time frame for non-residents.

For private facility rentals, you will need to fill out a rental form and check CivicRec for availability.

AQUATICS

Swim Lessons

Premier Recreation is proud to partner with the City of Leander to offer Starfish Aquatics Swim Lessons at the Robin Bledsoe Pool. Premier Recreation is an independent authorized provider of Starfish Swimming. Starfish Swimming is a nationally recognized swimming curriculum developed by the Starfish Aquatics Institute (SAI). Students participate in experiential learning activities that allow them to explore the water in a creative and comfortable environment. Correct swimming techniques are taught from the beginning, providing an easy transition to swim teams. Our swim instructors will communicate your child’s progress regularly.

What level should I register for?

WHITE

Student is not comfortable in water. Will not put face in water. Main Goal is to get child comfortable in the pool.

RED

Child is comfortable with water in his/her face.

Child will enter water with or with out assistance comfortably. Can not float or move in water independently.

YELLOW

Child is not afraid of the water and can float.

Child can jump into water and return to surface unassisted.

BLUE

Child can swim under water or on surface at least 3 yards. Can take a breath and continue forward motion or change direction.

GREEN

Child can swim with rotary arms and side breaths for at least 10 yards, and tread water for at least 15 seconds.

STROKE SCHOOL

Child can swim freestyle with alternating breaths for 25 yards, can tread water for 60 seconds.

ATHLETICS

ADULT COED KICKBALL LEAGUE

This league is a team registration where captains will register their team. League play is 10 v 10 (5 girls, 5 guys) with rosters carrying up to 20 people. Our league follows TAAF and local league rules. Teams can expect to play a 7- game regular season with a playoff week following the end of regular season. Playoffs will only consist of the top 4 teams from regular season standings. Individual players can apply to be a free agent at https://teamsideline.com/sites/Leander/ home.

YOUTH SOFTBALL CAMPS

YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMPS

Our basketball camps, led by ATX Future Coach, Terry Smothers, are designed to get your player moving and excited for a more competitive look into the game of basketball. Campers will focus on footwork / agility, scoring moves, ball handling, defensive techniques, etc. Athletes will also enjoy competitive and fun games that are catered to their age group and skill level.

YOUTH BASEBALL & SOFTBALL FALL LEAGUE

Leander Youth Baseball & Softball Alliance offers baseball for ages 3 – 14 and softball for ages 5 – 14. Our goal at LYBSA is to give every player the skillset they need to be successful. We strive to make each season competitive, fun, and developmental for every athlete. Our baseball and softball are both independent from an affiliation/charter. Baseball follows Centex rules, and our Softball league follows Pony rules.

ACTIVE ADULT PROGRAM (55+)

The Active Adults Program by the Leander Parks and Recreation Department serves the 55+ community in Leander and surrounding areas with recreation and leisure activities, National Day celebrations, educational talks, fitness classes, special events, and day trips. All programs are subject to change.

MEMBERSHIP

Participants must become a member before attending any trips or activities. Membership is $25 per person, per year regardless of residency. Create an online account, become a member, and register for classes, events, and trips at www. leandertx.gov/fun.

Step 1: Create CivicRec Account

•Navigate to www.leandertx.gov/fun

•Select “log in/create account” in the top left corner

•Click on the blue “create your LPARD account” button

•Fill out the account information

•Proceed through the steps

Step 2: Purchase a Membership

•Navigate to www.leandertx.gov/fun

•In the top left corner, select “log in/create account”

•Log in with the information you submitted when creating your account.

•On the top right, select the orange “Active Adult Program (55+)” tab

•Click on “Membership - AAP”

•Make sure the box next to your name is checked (bottom right corner).

•Select “add to cart”

•Select “checkout”

•Proceed through the steps

Once this is completed, you are able to sign up for classes, events, and/or trips.

Step 3: Sign Up for Classes, Events, & Trips

Now that you have purchased a membership, you are welcome to attend all program activities.

•Navigate to www.leandertx.gov/fun

•Log in with your account information

•Click on the orange Active Adult Program (55+) tab in the top right

•Click on either the “Classes and Events - AAP” or “Trips - AAP” button. It will drop down with the options.

•Select the activity you want to attend.

•Click the green “add to cart” button

•Repeat this process for everything you would like to sign up for. You can add multiple activities to your cart.

•Click on the cart in the top right and checkout

Day trips depart from the Leander Activity Center. Admission fees, meals, and other costs are paid for by the member unless otherwise noted.

Exciting news for our active adult community! Our new Senior Activity Center, opening soon, offers a vibrant space for individuals 55+ to stay active and engaged. With multipurpose rooms for various programming, a game room, fitness center, and Meals on Wheels services, the center provides a space designed to support wellness, social connection, and healthy lifestyles.

Lakewood Park is a beautiful 125-acre park with amenities such as a large field, playground, skate park, dog park, lake, fishing piers, kayak launch, trail, splash park, pavilions, basketball courts, volleyball courts, rentals, and more.

Benbrook Ranch Park

1100 Halsey Drive

Home of the Leander Youth Baseball and Softball Alliance, this park spans 46.5 acres and features four baseball fields, soccer fields, four batting cages, a pavilion, hike and bike trails, a skate park, disc golf course, and a playscape.

Mason Homestead

1101 South Bagdad Road

Located on land donated in 2005, the 1860s-era restored farm house is the heart of Homestead.

It serves as a center for meetings, training, family reunions, and anniversary parties.

Devine Lake Park

This 45.5-acre park is truly a unique site, with hundreds of heritage-aged oak trees. This park offers a group pavilion, nine acres, a playground, walking trails, and a lake for fishing, wildlife observation, and non-motorized boating.

Northcreek Ranch Park

Located in a central neighborhood, this park features a pavilion and offers a quiet atmosphere. Amenities include a basketball goal, water fountain, and picnic tables for family gatherings.

Leander’s newest addition is a 65.7-acre park that offers a stocked fishing lake, fishing pier, canoe/ kayak launching area, pavilion, playground, grills, and paved walking trails.

Robin Bledsoe Park is a 16-acre park that features multiple amenities including sports fields, swimming pool, splash pad, basketball court, fitness court, pavilion, amphitheater, and walking trail.

Mason Creek Park

This charming park is located in the Mason Creek North subdivision and features a pavilion, water fountain, and picnic tables for small gatherings.

Veterans Park

Located directly behind the Mason Homestead, Veterans Park is a special area for reflection. The 3.33-acre park includes an amphitheater and several memorials honoring all U.S. military service members.
