MY WELLBEING JOURNEY – YEAR

ENJOYING MY BEST SELF to share my positive feelings and attitudes

With your family, friends, classmates and teacher, enjoy doing the lessons and activities on your journey to grow everyone’s wellbeing. When you all work together special things can be achieved.

Strengths Weeks

There are four strengths weeks throughout the year and they are placed on the bottom of the right hand page for that week. You and your classmates can draw or describe how you could use one of the strengths below to build your wellbeing and healthy friendships. The order of these weeks are: Being a Leader, Perseverance (Trying Hard), Zest and Love of Learning. Download these activity sheets and award certificates from the Wellbeing Program/Individual Resources/Strengths Weeks or Wellbeing Awards sections of www.learningcurve.com.au

Getting Ready For School

WHY: by knowing how to organise your school bag every night, you will sleep well because you know that you are ready for school when you wake up.

HOW: pack your school books, fill your water bottle, make your lunch and have your uniform laid out for the morning. Being responsible for yourself by doing these things, will make you feel proud.

Tuned In

WHY: by learning how to totally tune in to what you are doing, you will feel really good about yourself.

HOW: focus on an activity that you enjoy, which stretches your skills, concentrate hard using your strengths to block out other things, and you will feel really connected to the activity and yourself. You may lose your sense of time.

Body Language and Messages

This Lesson: WHY: for you to understand that you send and receive most messages to and from other people, not through what you say, but through the way your face looks, the tone of your voice and how you move your body – called body language. Have fun in class, taking turns showing different types of body language, with the rest of the class trying to guess what your message is. You can describe, stick in pictures or draw how your face would look for each of them.
