YEAR 2 MY WELLBEING JOURNAL UNDERSTANDING ME Dear parents and teachers, depending on students’ level of reading skills, you may have to assist them by explaining what’s involved in the lessons. There are no rights or wrongs, just learning experiences to develop their self-awareness, their self-regulation, impulse control and understanding of themselves. Empathy is introduced also.

FRIENDSHIPS WEEKS These occur throughout the journal every 12 weeks. Encourage the children to draw or describe how they could use one of the four strengths, gratitude, teamwork, kindness and leadership to build friendships with classmates and other students. Make a Strengths Wall in the classroom for children to draw or describe things that they or classmates did to show the strength. Also, at home, encourage families to make a Strengths Wall on the fridge, to participate as well.
