ERZLICH WILLKOMMEN IN UNSEREM LOOKBOOK. Wir haben uns für die neue Saison dazu entschieden, Dir unser Portfolio in einem etwas anderen Format vorzustellen. Die Idee: Ein Magazin, das unsere
Stoffe nicht nur zeigt, sondern zugleich ihre Geschichten erzählt. Etwas, das Du gerne liest und das Dich mitnimmt auf die Reise zum Ursprung der Materialien, aus denen Du Deine Kollektionen fertigst. Geführt hat uns diese Reise insbesondere an zwei Orte. Im Wendland haben wir die Schafe unserer neuen Wollstoffe kennen und lieben gelernt – und gemerkt, wie gut und wichtig es ist, sich zu regionalen Strukturen und Möglichkeiten Gedanken zu machen. Im österreichischen Heiligenkreuz wiederum waren wir zu Besuch bei Lenzing, der Firma hinter unseren neuen Refibra™-Stoffen. Und auch hier haben wir etwas gelernt – nämlich, dass es manchmal gut und richtig sein kann, mit den »Großen« zusammenzuarbeiten. Ergänzt werden diese Geschichten durch Alles, was Du über unsere neuen Farben und Qualitäten wissen musst. Und natürlich findest Du auch nach wie vor eine Gesamtschau unseres Portfolios sowie einen kurzen Blick auf all das, was wir sonst noch tun, um Dich glücklich zu machen. Aber wir möchten nicht zuviel vorwegnehmen – sondern Dich hiermit zum Lesen und Stöbern einladen und Dir viel Freude mit unseren neuen Stoffen wünschen. WELCOME TO OUR LOOKBOOK! For the new season, we decided to introduce you to our portfolio in a slightly different format. The idea: A magazine that not only shows our fabrics, but also tells their stories. Something that you like to read and that takes you on a journey to the source of the materials of which your collections are being made. This journey took us to two wonderful places. In Wendland, we got to know and love the sheep of our new woolen fabrics – and realized how good and important it is to think about regional structures and possibilities. In Heiligenkreuz, Austria, we visited Lenzing, the company behind our new Refibra™ fabrics. And here, too, we have learned something – that sometimes it can be good and right to work with the »big ones«. These stories are complemented by everything you need to know about our new colors and qualities. And of course you will still find an overall view of our portfolio and a quick look at everything else we constantly do to make you happy. Aber wenn man diese Gegend einmal bereist und die Geschichten derer hört, die hier – so völlig entgegen dem Tempo unserer Zeit – ihre Träume wahr werden lassen, dann versteht man, dass das hier kein Niemandsland, sondern ein Sehnsuchtsort ist.

That is why they only shave their Gotland sheep twice a year and are collecting sheep‘s wool from the Ark region on the Elbe, which they then knit into yarn, thick wool and, for the first time, into cloth. For the Wendland area this is a great thing in two ways: on the one hand, elbwolle creates new jobs and also protects old sheep breeds. The fact that the journey from sheep to the finished fabric is only 900 kilometers long and that we were able to visit both the spinning mill in Brandenburg and the weaving mill in Bavaria makes the cooperation so important for us: It is the first regional project we have accompanied and built right from the beginning.
Ute und Marcel wollen es anders machen. Ihre 30 Gotlandschafe scheren sie deswegen nur zweimal im Jahr, dazu sammeln sie Schafwolle aus dem Gebiet der Arche-Region an der Elbe, die sie zu Strickgarn, dicker Wolle und nun erstmals auch zu Stoffen verarbeiten. Dem Wendland tut das gleich doppelt gut: elbwolle schafft einerseits neue Arbeitsplätze und schützt außerdem alte Schafrassen. Dass der Weg vom Schaf hin zum fertigen Stoff zusammengenommen gerade einmal 900 Kilometer lang ist und wir die Spinnerei in Brandenburg und die Weberei in Bayern bereits selbst besuchen konnten, macht die Kooperation für uns so wichtig: Es ist das erste regionale Projekt, das wir von Anfang an begleiten und mitaufbauen. Was sich wie eine schöne Utopie liest, ist tatsächlich Realität. Regionale Ressourcen nutzen, Infrastrukturen stärken, ökologische Düngemittel erzeugen – und ganz nebenbei noch den Rohstoff für einen unserer Lieblingsstoffe in dieser Saison liefern. Es versteht sich also eigentlich von selbst, dass elbwolle und Lebenskleidung eine Liebe auf den ersten Blick werden musste. Aus dieser Liebe entstanden sind
