Style Profile Candice Lake 1. While answering these questions, where are you based & what is on your to-do list? I am based in London and have just completed New York and London Fashion week and am packing to go to Paris tomorrow to shoot more images for Vogue UK, Vogue Australia, Harpers Bazaar Australia, GLamour UK and get ready for the Rue du Mail FW 2011 show, where I look after International Commercial Sales... so I am VERY BUSY this month! On my to do list... currently the list is LONG! I have just sent off some portraits of the glamour editors for the magazine, I am retouching some portraits I shot for Harpers Bazaar Australia and I am preparing for a week of appointments with all the international buyers in the Rue du Mail atelier in Paris - so no sleep for me basically! 2. What are your plans for 2011? This year I plan to go on a nice weekend trip to the south of France once the fashion week madness is over! I would love to head back to Australia to cover Fashion week! The plan is to continue photographing portraits of incredibly inspiring people around the globe, continue to strengthen Rue du Mail's growth in the international markets, and I think it may be time to learn to cook! 3. What are you passionate about? I am passionate about the ocean, my boyfriend, coffee, shooting portraits, curiosity, London, Sydney, NY, beautiful light, my canon, the evolution of my garden. 4. What do you love most about LBB & Le Magazine? I love the wonderful Kath! I met her in London where I took a portrait of her for Glamour and I was so inspired by her energy and love of LBB. She spoke so passionately about he dedication to her customers and her designers and this passion is what I most love! 5. What are you looking forward to this Winter? I have just had a long London Winter. .. What is wonderful about winter is long lunches by the fire, wearing big hats and colourful coats, walks through mystical parks where you feel like you have the park to yourself and then... I love watching the trees change as spring nears. http://www.candicelake.com/

While answering these questions, where are you based & what is on your to-do list?

At the moment I am based in Willoughby, Sydney Australia. My to do list has grown in size for the next two months! I am putting together my first film piece from the launch of “ROCKPOOL” at the Ivy Pool. This will be an exciting piece for all consumers to have a close up view of the latest collection “ROCKPOOL”. I am moving to LA in April to expand the business in California, for this I am setting up the business to keep the manufacturing in Sydney. What are your plans for 2011? 2011 is going to be an exciting year for the brand. Moving to LA in April and expanding in the Californian market. We hope to come back to sydney leaving a strong following in the USA. The “ROCKPOOL” print will be brought out with new colour concepts. You can expect to see blue/purple/green shades, pinks with orange.

What are you passionate about?

My custom print “ROCKPOOL” is my passion. This print is something I have wanted to do for a long time now. I love colour and the ability to put colour concepts together in a classy, wearable way. In the summer I love to be by the water, sailing, wake boarding and the beach! In the winter time I love to snowboard. Snowboarding is another area that I would love to take the brand to. What do you love most about LBB & Le Magazine? Le Black Book is a great online store stocking a mix of new designer label’s and Australia’s leading designer label’s. Le Black Book is a great mix of what Australian fashion has to offer. Le Magazine is a great way for consumers to learn about the designers and what their collections have to offer. It is also great for consumers to read about where the designers started out and their inspirations for each collection.

What are you looking forward to this Winter?

This winter I will be in Sunny California. I will continue my designing in LA and continue introducing new prints for the label. NATALIE CHAPMAN is a trans-seasonal brand that styles well for winter so if your looking for a dress to style with tights and a cute leather jacket don’t miss out on the pistol dress and the jagger dress!!! They are my favourite pieces for winter!

Style Profile Natalie & Katie While answering these questions, where are you based & what is on your to-do list? I am a city girl through and through. I live in the city, I work in the city and I play in the city. Sydney’s CBD can be the most amazing yet destructive place to be. There are always homeless people roaming the streets and stressed pedestrians running past you in a hurry. It has become an aim of mine to make a change by bringing an element of new life and excitement back to this city. I have started to do exactly that with my co founder Katie Higgins with the induction of Champagne for Charity. What are your plans for 2011? Champagne for Charity is a women’s only society that hosts themed cocktail parties for women at up and coming restaurants and bars. Champagne for Charity donates all the money raised at these events to a variety of transparent charities. My personal plan for 2011 is to welcome new women and artistic talents into this society to help entertain and provide networking for working women based in Sydney.

What are you passionate about? I am passionate about having fun and giving people I believe in a leg up. Champagne for Charity offers talented Australian’s the opportunity to show their skills to others in the hope of driving them further business. If I can help someone I will. I am also passionate about my friends. I think every girl needs to make time for their girlfriends, and this is the perfect opportunity to do so. What do you love most about Le Black Book & Le Magazine? I love the success story behind Le Black Book and Le Magazine. Fashion may not be everything in life, but the inspiration it can give a girl is. I love that Le Black Book entertains women and gives them a platform to feel confident about how they look and dress. What are you looking forward to this Winter? I am looking forward to hosting a Champagne for Charity event where we can raise some money for keeping the homeless warm this winter. http://champagneforcharity.org/
