Hello Winter & Hello new beginnings! It’s a new season here at Le Black Book & we are seriously excited. We’ve been hibernating a little bit lately while working to bring you a new, improved & inspiring new website. As you may have noticed, we have had a makeover fresh for the new season & have added some cool new features. WHAT ARE YOUR WARDROBE ESSENTIALS FOR AUTUMN? Unlimited supply of denim jeans, a scarf (preferably oversized), taupe ankle boots. WHERE WILL WE FIND YOU THIS AUTUMN? In bed all day with nothing but knee high socks on, streaming TV shows online. Haha jokes! I wished! Work in the city & Uni all Autumn! WHO IS ON YOUR CURRENT PLAYLIST? The Presets, Dizzee Rascal, The Naked & Famous - I just got back from Groovin The Moo and it was hectic! WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE AUTUMN SCENTS? Oohh this is a tough one. Torn between Flora by Gucci and Ralph by Ralph Lauren. SKIN SECRETS FOR THE COOLER MONTHS? It’s so tempting to just crawl into your warm blanket after a long day out, but no matter what you do, remember to remove all makeup & wash your face before bed! I’m totally guilty of this so I can’t say I’m the best role model.

POWER PRINT One of the biggest trends for Autumn/Winter 14 is the ever-versatile print. The season’s hottest prints are engineered to make a statement in the midst of the season’s otherwise nude color palate. Get in the mood to mix and match patterns or add a dash a color for a maximum impact look that will surely be a stunner.

WHITE-OUT As one of the trickier trends this season, wearing white all over requires not only cleanliness but absolute confidence. Seen on the likes of Elin Kling and Kate Moss, the trend is best worn top to toe. Wear it with monochrome accessories – black in particular – as they will dramatize the overall effect without detracting from it. Avoid brightly colored or multicolored accessories, as they will distract from the simplicity.

F I T- A N D - F L A R E One of the season’s most flattering trends is taking a page from the book of Old Hollywood glamour. Fit and flare skirts and dresses (also known as skater dresses) are a fabulous trend to try no matter what your body shape; this is a trend that looks becoming on everyone. Pencil skirts are always chic but when you want something a bit flirtier and more feminine, a little volume is in order. For those moments, thigh-grazing fit and flare skirts are a great option. When fall comes, follow Chanel’s lead and wear them with luxe, over-the-knee boots.

TA R TA N G I R L Tartan is back and this autumn/winter 2013 it is set to be huge. We saw the designers take on this trend all over the catwalks and now key pieces from this trend have started to hit the high street. Tartan can be worn on just about anything this season, but one must have item which you will need in your wardrobe is a tartan skirt. A tartan skirt is a wardrobe staple for this autumn/ winter 2014 and this is the one item you should add to your autumn wardrobe before anything else. Team yours up with tights, a pair of ankle boots and a chunky knit for a chic autumn look.
