STUDS & SPI

IKES

THE STUDDED FASHION TREND KICKED OFF last year, when SARAH JESSICA PARKER strolled through the STREETS OF NEW YORK wearing THAT incredible studded belt. Whether you’re a total prepster or a rock ‘n roll diva, there’s no denying that studs are a must-have this season. They add instant flair to everything from jeans to sandals, and lend a slight edginess to even the fussiest of fabrics. There are so many ways to put your own spin on the studded fashion trend. When Carrie Bradshaw did it, she paired it with a floral dress, which gave the dress a tougher, edgier side.

FLUORO THE FACT THAT FLURO, THE FASHION OF THE 80s, IS RETURNING TO THE FASHION SCENE means its time to add some nostalgic, yet bold bright colours to your style! Time to go to the future from the past… or back to the future. Either way – Fluro fashion is back and we can’t see it disappearing anytime soon! So forget the neutrals and get those Cyan bright blues, lime greens, yellows, hot pinks and oranges.

your next European Summer I strongly recommend Malta as the must visit destination. Malta has everything you t and more. There’s the rich history, the beautiful beaches and the night life. My first trip to Malta was love at first t & 10 days wasn’t enough.

GETTING THERE

¡¡¡

AIR : Malta is well connected to Europe and North Africa. All flights arrive at and depart from Malta International Airport (MLA; 2124 9600; www.maltairport.com) at Luqa, 8km south of Valletta. The Maltese national airline is AIR MALTA (code KM; 2169 0890; www.airmalta.com ; Misrah- il-Helsien, Valletta).

*

Malta, in the heart of the Mediterranean, is a melting pot of civilisations with a history stretching back thousands of years. The country has been inhabited since around 5200 BC and a significant prehistoric civilisation existed on the islands prior to the arrival of the Phoenicians who named the main island Malat , meaning safe haven. The best thing about Malta is that it is still a secret amongst many so you are able to enjoy without being overcrowded and feeling like a tourist. Watch out for the pastizzis in Malta – they are incredibly addictive and became a daily breakfast ritual. Malta is filled with restaurants and every night you will find a new favourite. Celebrities that have been spotted recently in Malta include Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt & James Blunt. Malta is very close to many other popular island destinations so it’s perfect for hopping around during your next European summer. Malta is somewhere I know I’ll visit every couple of years as I have fond memories of my time there and always will. It is a complete haven away from the hustle and bustle of a busy city based lifestyle.
