A level Art involves more than just your drawing or painting skills.

It’s about learning to work creatively and experimentally to develop your ideas in a variety of mediums.

On this course, you will improve your technical skills with brushes, pens, pencils and less conventional media. More importantly, you will develop an appreciation of the visual world around you.

You will look at the creative process and how to pursue your own ideas, integrating and building upon other people’s work to push the boundaries of the materials you are working with.

Assessment will be via coursework, timed assessments, practical work and personal study. For timed assessments, the exam board will set a general area such as “Exploration and Discovery” around which you will base a project, creating work under timed conditions.
