Set in Imperial Russia at a time when superstitious people believe in the possibility of magic, Northern Ballet’s new adaptation of this classic fairytale sees heartbreak turn to joy as the unstoppable power of young love conquers all. A beautiful summer’s day turns into tragedy. Devastated by the loss of her father, and excluded by her cruel stepmother and sisters, Cinderella finds solace on the frozen lake where she first sees her Prince Charming. As romance blossoms, a magical encounter in a market place changes Cinderella’s destiny. Journey through elegant Russia, with breathtaking winter scenes and opulent ballrooms created by Duncan Hayler (Beauty & the Beast, A Midsummer Night’s Dream). With a new score from Phillip Feeney, played live by Northern Ballet Sinfonia, you will not want to miss this unforgettable ballet. Cinderella is the fifth addition to Northern Ballet’s repertoire of highly successful family ballets which already includes The Nutcracker, Peter Pan, A Christmas Carol and Beauty & the Beast. Don’t miss your chance to see another World Première at Leeds Grand Theatre this Christmas.

‘His richest and most surprising show yet... I’m left speechless, the only thing to say about it: GO.’ SUNDAY EXPRESS

Direct from the West End, the acknowledged master of psychological illusion returns to the stage with his latest show, Derren Brown: Infamous, demonstrating once again why Derren is one of the world’s most renowned live performers; a dark manipulator of magic and mind control. For Infamous, a more ‘personal’ show, Derren is re-united with his close collaborator and friend, actor/writer Andy Nyman. Derren says ‘Now we’ve joined forces again, we’re very eager to make this show feel different. There was something of a template we followed with all the shows, which worked very well. It’s rather exciting and scary leaving that behind. This one should certainly have a different tone, and will mix things up a bit for those who have seen the others on TV or live’. Infamous is Derren’s sixth show since 2003. Watched by an estimated audience of over 2 million people, he has won two prestigious Olivier Awards, for Something Wicked This Way Comes (2006) and Svengali (2012) and confesses that touring is still his favourite thing to do.

A fascinating, compelling and entertaining evening with Ray Mears. Recognised worldwide as an authority on bushcraft and survival, Ray acquired his unique skills through his work in some of the world’s most uninhabitable and harshest environments.

Purple Van Man is a hilarious new stand up show from Sean Lock, the most fertile comic mind in Britain. We all know what white van man thinks about the world we live in but it’s time to hear a different voice, Purple Van Man’s voice. Filled with gags, opinions, deft observations and some silly voices this is Sean Lock doing what he does best, spouting inspired jibber jabber as he crosses the country in his purple van. He will make you laugh like a drunken horse.

Don’t miss this compelling theatre show in which Ray shares stories from over thirty years surviving the wilderness and its colourful wildlife.

Bill Bailey: Qualmpeddler

Milton Jones: On The Road

Bill Bailey had Doubts about the modern world, but these have now grown into Qualms. He will be channelling these feelings of Unease and Apprehension with the help of Religious Dubstep, his folk bouzouki, Horntallica, a re-appraisal of some of the world’s greatest works of art and perhaps a dub version of Downton Abbey. This show has the all classic Bill Bailey elements, trademark musical mash-ups, multi-lingual riffs, films, philosophizing and silliness.

Milton Jones is back on the road with another tour, this time imaginatively entitled On The Road. If you like the stuff he’s done on Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo or in any of the nine radio series he’s done for Radio 4 then this is the show for you. Hundreds of his celebrated one-liners, plus pictures he drew. Clever, surreal but mainly just stupid stupid stupid. He’s won awards you know.
