The University of Leeds Human Rights Journal is a multidisciplinary publication created by students with the aim of providing a platform for ambitious undergraduates to publish their academic and creative work on the theme of human rights. It was founded in 2012 and is the first journal of its kind in the UK.
This year, our In Focus theme is Transition. As humans, our lives have been (and continue to be) characterised by transitions: the transition of something as simple as the seasons, the transition of empires to democracies, from war to post-war, the list goes on. Thus, this year, we are welcoming submissions that deal with this ever-present topic.
Volume IX of the Leeds Human Rights Journal aims to provide a global commentary on the protests of marginalised and exploited peoples, and includes the work of creatives to further comment on human rights and to illuminate advocacy.
