VOORWOORD
Le Guess Who? is een internationaal festival voor avontuurlijke en vernieuwende muziek in de binnenstad van Utrecht. De programmering richt zich op toonaangevende artiesten; acts die een drang hebben om de grenzen van genres op te zoeken en te verleggen. Het programma van Le Guess Who? 2015 was diverser en vooruitstrevender dan ooit. Het werd een editie met vele muzikale hoogtepunten en tientallen drukbezochte prachtlocaties in Utrecht. Tegelijkertijd was Le Guess Who? 2015 ook internationaler dan ooit. Een recordaantal bezoekers reisden af naar Utrecht: maar liefst 48% van de passe-partouthouders kwam uit het buitenland en reacties van de vele aanwezige pers waren niets dan positief. Ook de muziek kwam uit alle windstreken: hedendaagse componisten naast oude avantgardisten, luide drones tussen uiteenlopende jazz en traditionele ud-spelers samen met urgente popmuziek. Met deze uitgave kijken we terug op de negende editie van het festival, door middel van foto’s en kengetallen, maar vooral: de vele enthousiaste reacties die het festival opriep, bij zowel bezoekers en pers, als artiesten. Dit succes was alleen mogelijk dankzij het grootse enthousiasme van onze partners, waaronder de verschillende festivallocaties en hun medewerkers, de grenzeloze inzet van de vele vrijwilligers en de gepassioneerde toewijding van het geweldige Le Guess Who? team. Grote dank aan iedereen die heeft geholpen om Le Guess Who? tot zo’n internationaal succes te maken.
