Revise There is no ‘right way’ to revise; everyone is different, so try out different methods. Just as long as you choose the method that enables you to gain a solid grasp of key facts and consolidate your knowledge. Here are some tips you might find useful.

How to Study Make a revision plan. Plan your time carefully, assigning more time to subjects and topics you find difficult. Plan time off for activities which can be done out in the fresh air. Take a 5 or 10 minute break every hour. Keep yourself more alert by changing revision methods during a session. If you find it heavy going, change from one subject to another at ‘break’ time. Find a quiet place to study and make sure you are sitting comfortably. The Library may not be best for you! Everyone is different! You can still fit in time to exercise and relax for a bit; just plan your time accordingly.

Top Tip Don’t panic; think about what you can achieve, not what you can’t. Positive thinking is important!

Revising Make the best use of your time. Revise often; try and do a little every day. Make sure you have all materials to hand. Avoid studying in an area where there will be distractions. Use course notes and expand these – don’t just rely on these! Work through past question papers. Create memory aids such as diagrams or images. Write key facts/notes out and display these around the house. Write ideas and facts on to cards to use as ‘prompts’. Use different colours to emphasize points and make them stand out. Keep your revision notes organised. If you have a question or need to clarify something, contact your department. Share revision notes and go through questions with your peers.

Top Tip Set goals each day and try to do more than this to make yourself feel you’ve done more than you thought you would.
