LEOPARDS AND LIONS! By Laurelie Rae with Leighton House

Before we start, make sure to prepare these: You will need the activity worksheets pencil eraser ink watercolour paint or watercolour pencils water cup paint brush black fineliner

Starting Your Project

Choose from the leopard or the lion and follow the instructions on the worksheets, I have chosen to use the blue ink to add to the leopard's fur. I am applying the ink in a thin even layer and letting it dry before I add the pattern on top. Be as creative as you like with the patterns you put on the leopard/ lion's fur!

While letting the first layer dry, paint in the flowers and their leaves and stems! You can also add the sun to the back of the lion/leopard by tracing and transferring if you like!

Concepts and Definitions

Now that the first layer is dry, you can add in the fur patterns from the worksheet or from the one's you have created.

Continue paint and add in the details on you artwork. I have painted my flowers in the traditional colours. But you can choose any colours you like!

Finishing Your Artwork! Finish up your artwork by choosing a border pattern from the worksheet or by creating your own! I have chosen the spiral pattern and I will apply that all the way around the rim of my plate. You can finish by cutting out the circle and placing it on a colourful piece of paper.
