Hiking brings us so close to these precious sights. As a certified Wanderhotel hiking hotel, our greatest wish is to share this incredible experience with our guests. Together with our hiking guides, we organise hikes in the surrounding area five times per week. The tour programme offers all manner of leisurely to challenging walks, fulfilling every possible wish and tempting you out to explore the Dolomites on the winter walking trails. Snowshoes are of invaluable
assistance as the high-mountains tempt us ever-upwards. Up beyond the tree line and in complete unison with nature, the hiking experience becomes ever more intense. All the experts agree: The holiday region of the Drei Zinnen is one of the best in the Alps. With a total of 110 kilometres of ski slopes, the mountains are in full view in all their unparalleled glory, setting a magnificent backdrop for outstanding cuisine at the mountain huts with their endless regional specialities. The Leitlhof is committed to protecting the climate with schemes and measures targeted towards preserving the breathtaking landscape. The owners of the Leitlhof have been dedicated to protection of the environment and to sustainability for many years. They were among the first to take the opportunity to offer holidays that do not impact on the climate. The greatest sources of CO2 emissions in a hotel are electricity, heating and laundry services. In addition to reducing these emissions, the Leitlhof also takes other measures to help protect the climate: the hotel’s thermal energy system produces heat and electricity with wood from its own forests. When selecting craftsmen or products for the hotel, we prefer to use local suppliers, both to avoid long journeys and to generate wealth in our community. The Hotel Leitlhof practises strict waste separation, in order to recycle as much as possible. All our detergents are environmentally friendly. The entire company culture is based on environmentally sustainable principles.
Much more than a “machine” How is energy produced from wood? What’s the best way to run a thermal energy system? The expert for such questions is Stephan, the proprietor of the Leitlhof. The thermal energy system is his responsibility, and he knows it better than anyone else. Guests who are interested can visit his “kingdom”, and it often amazes them: for example, did you know that with this system CO2 emissions have been reduced from 120 kg per guest per night to only 12 kg?

Traceability of Leitlhof Luxury Board ingredients is an integral part of our sustainable farming philosophy. In addition to a hotel garden with vegetables, berries and herbs, Stephan now manages the hotel’s very own herd of cattle.
Aberdeen Angus Cattle Long bodies and broad shoulders: A herd of purebred Aberdeen Black Angus cattle have now made their home in the Pustertal Valley. This breed of cattle is also famed for their strong muscles and outstanding bone structure. The robust animals are very
much at home on the herbpacked Alpine meadows around the Mühlmann family’s farm. Having our own herd of cattle means that we can guarantee traceability of the beef we use in our gourmet cuisine.

The untreated wood used for the high-quality furnishings and floors is almost entirely sourced from local forests. The clay plaster on the walls gives the room a pleasant atmosphere. The pure cotton bedding encourages sound sleep, and the silver quartzite from Val di Vizze, a natural local stone, also adds some stylish touches.
Different types of room to meet every need: but the common feature is the owners’ love of nature. The window looks out onto spectacular natural scenery. Our “Dolomiti” half board solution includes a generous breakfast buffet with fresh local products and an afternoon snack between 3.00 and 5.00 p.m. with freshly baked pastries and energy snacks. The world of children Younger guests can have fun in our kids room. During the holiday period, children aged 3 upward can be looked after between 7.30 pm. and 10 p.m. by our activity leaders.
Spa The wellness zone at the Leitlhof covers 2,000 m², and includes an area for adults only. Guests may also make use of the wellness facilities on their day of departure. • Start your journey into our world of wellness by putting on the soft bathrobe and slippers provided in the spa bag in your room. Towels for the sauna and swimming-pool are available by the salt bath, the Turkish bath, and the Finnish and herbal saunas. • Eight times a week, we invite you to enjoy our aromatic sauna infusions in our saunas in birch and pine-wood huts in the garden. With an extra payment, you can also use our hay steam bath. • Fresh fruit, herbal teas and fruit juices will boost your energy after using the sauna, the emotional showers or the Kneipp path.
• Treat yourself to a well-deserved rest on one of the water beds or comfortable loungers in our scenic relaxation room on the first floor, with views of the beautiful mountains around San Candido. • Keep in shape by doing exercises in our bright fitness room.
Green Holiday For some years now, our hotel has been classified as a climate neutral business. We promote green holidays because we want to respect and conserve the extraordinary natural landscape of South Tyrol. How do we do that? Among other things, we offer a free shuttle service for our guests, an electric car charging station, and a free Holidaypass, allowing you to use all public transport in South Tyrol. But our most important contribution is our wood-fuelled thermal energy system, which has enabled us to reduce CO2 emissions per guest from 120 kg to approx. 12 kg.
Ski Shuttle The free daily Ski Shuttle takes our guests to the lift stations in the Alta Pusteria ski area. Comfortable, safe and environmentally friendly.
