2015-2016 PRESIDENT'S GOODBYE Everything has to end eventually. I knew that by the end of the last session at District Convention, my term as President would be over. Thank you for making an impact in my Key Club journey. There is no doubt that there were plenty of problems and mistakes made throughout this term, but if I had the opportunity to go back and redo it, I wouldn’t change a thing because every ounce of effort resulted in this phenomenal year, IP PRESIDENT to now, to the end of an amazing term I could never forget. Although I wasn’t able to get to know all of you super well, you still made a difference. Seeing you guys at every meeting and signing up for events makes me jump with joy. I remember when I was a project coordinator my freshman and sophomore year and when five members coming to my event made me SUPER excited, just because it wasn’t only one person signing up -myself. But this year, I was blessed to see the overwhelming amount of members serving at each event. So thank you Leland Key Clubbers, we did it. Together, we served over 3400 hours, raised over $400 for PTP, saved over 270 lives of mothers and their babies from MNT, and raised $900 for the club. There is no amount of “thank you”s that could ever express the infinitive amount of gratitude I have towards every officer, advisor, and most importantly, member. My term has been fun, but now, I am proud to officially welcome our newly installed 2016-2017 Executives into office. I have faith that they will bring the club to new heights. Signing Out, Tiana Nguyen

Well hello there. My name is Eugene Kim, and I am Leland Key Club's 2016 Bulletin Board Editor. I am grateful for being able to work in this position as well as providing service to our club. The first night I walked into the general session and saw all of the spirit, kindness, and positivity, made me realize what a great club I'm a part of and I can't wait for moments like these to come in the future! Shaida Taghavi, Member A few of my favorite DCON moments were attending seminars with my friends, cheering for my LTG, Anna Pham, and club at General Session 3, dancing at Governor's Ball, and making sure DCON was a successful event by being a SAA Captain. Jalyn Vo, Member

PAST EVENTS At this event, Leland Key Club made a difference in that we helped the set up the Book Sale at Almaden Library. Some of us crushed boxes, creating more space for them to be held, and others helped organize books into different areas of the room. Leland Key Club was extremely efficient with time, and prevented the other volunteers at the Almaden library from hassling over more work. Martin Nguyen, Member

At the event, there were kids who came to see what the event is and then it got bigger and bigger. The lady who coordinated this event did not expect this Kids Bike Rodeo would be a huge event with lots of kids waiting in line. However, I was glad to see her smile after how the event went so great! Also, I loved how kids were just smiling after finishing the bike course especially because we helped to create that smile. Layla Yun, Project Coordinator

MNT 101

The Eliminate Project raises funds to immunize 129 million mothers and their future babies from Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT). Sixty thousand babies every year will never grow up, make their mothers laugh, or dream about the future due to MNT. That means that one baby dies every 11 minutes. But with simply $1.80, you can save lives of a mother and her babies.Together, we can turn promises of lives into funding, funding into vaccines, and vaccines into lives saved and futures protected.
