A selection of dazzling designs I am delighted to present the August Fine Jewels and Timepieces auction, featuring a selection of beautiful and collectable jewellery for discerning connoisseurs and jewellery enthusiasts alike. Included is a fine assortment of precious gems, coloured diamonds, antique, vintage, and bespoke designs by international and Australian designers, sure to impress both wearers and observers. A diamond necklace by Belgian jewellery designer Casa Gi (Lot 75) is wonderful example of contemporary glamour. Set throughout with over 30 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds in two-tone gold; it is an ultimate statement piece. Also leading the auction is an exquisite Geublin certified Colombian emerald (Lot 203). Flanked by high quality diamonds and set in platinum, this ring would make for a special acquisition for a collector of rare and important coloured gemstones. A selection of Cartier pieces are presented, dating from the 1970s with a rare retro gold collar (Lot 66) through to the 1990s with two examples of the now iconic Pantherè design bangle (Lot 65 and Lot 67). Timeless Cartier design is embodied in the understated claw-set solitaire diamond ring (Lot 69).

Important Australian makers also feature throughout the auction, including collectable pieces by 19th Century maker Thomas Gaunt & Co (Lots 90 & 91). Both are testament to the exquisite craftsmanship and meticulous attention of T. Gaunt designs. By contemporary Australian designers we see exceptional South Sea pearl pieces by Paspaley and Kailis. With a focus on wearability and high-level craftsmanship, highlights include an iconic ‘Lavalier’ pendant by Paspaley (Lot 11) and the truly versatile ‘Miss Versatility’ strand by Kailis (Lot 175). Of particular significance is the collection of vintage and contemporary timepieces by important international makers. Leading the collection is a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Everose watch (Lot 263), presenting in exceptional condition in 18ct pink gold. For collectors of vintage and classic watches, a gold Patek Philippe wristwatch presented in the original box with Swiss certification dated 1952, is sure to appeal.
