CAPSULE COLLECTION [ The MixTape ] BA FASHION YEAR 3 : SEMESTER 2 E19CA/CB COURSE TEAM : Justine Head, Jill Martin, Chantelle Morton, Nigel Buckner, Fouad E Georges
My collection titled ‘The Mixtape’, as the name implies, is a compilation of my favourite ideas, bringing together the best of me from my last project, and pushing it further beyond my imagination. This collection is inspired by rounded shapes, and influenced by the works of artists like; Magdalena Abakanowicz’s Embryology, Yayoi Kusama’s polka dots, Alexander Calder’s kinetic sculpture and most of all the mysterious crop circles in Britain. The rounded shapes will be incorporated in my design features, to accentuate and exaggerate intricate parts of the feminine contour, revelling with different geometrical silhouette. This concept is brought to life by the use of denim, wool and cotton fabrics, in beautiful contrasting shades of grey. The collection is for the intrepid woman, who is ready for adventure and bold enough to appear bizarre, projecting her feminine power through the prodigious silhouette which adorns her…

FASHION DESIGN FOR A COMMERCIAL CONTEXT BA FASHION YEAR 3 : SEMESTER 2 E19CC PROJECT TITLE : DIVERSITY COURSE TEAM : Justine Head, Jill Martin, Chantelle Morton, Nigel Buckner, Fouad E Georges
The society in general is stereotypical regarding body, image and identity, and the fashion industry is one of its major influences. As humans we are diverse in all aspects of life and as such, should celebrate whatever category we find ourselves be it age, gender, size, race or physical challenges. This collection celebrates size in the feminine context, and it is inspired by geometry which encompasses all aspects of life as everything falls between a certain shape or definite size. The collection also aims to project the beauty of the curvy ladies, which ordinarily are less considered in the fashion industry’s standard of body image and identity.

BA FASHION YEAR 3 : SEMESTER 1 E19FT & E19FM PROJECT TITLE : RE - RE - RE COLLECTION : NSIBIDI COURSE TEAM : Justine Head, Jill Martin, Chantelle Morton, Nigel Buckner, Fouad E Georges
Nsibidi is a collection inspired by African historical heritage, particularly the cultural history of the Calabar people, influenced by geometry and abstraction. The Nsibidi script which was invented by the members of the Ekpe masquerade secret society, uses abstract symbols to communicate covertly. This was further transformed into tattoos, geometrical wax printed fabrics and other artistic inceptions which is similar to the works of artist like Klaus Moje and Sonia Delaunay. As an altruistic person, I spend time thinking about and researching innovative ways to beautify the female silhouette creatively. This concept is brought to life by the use of cotton twill fabrics, wool and denim as well as African wax printed fabrics to achieve the desired contour. Incorporating vibrant contrasting colours like flame red, indigo and burgundy to accentuate intricate details and design features, revelling with different geometrical silhouettes. The collection is for the intrepid woman who is ready for adventure and bold enough to appear bizarre, projecting her feminine power through the prodigious silhouette which adorns her‌
