a b o u t I graduated magna cum laude in February 2017 after five years of studying between Ferrara and Curitiba. In Brasil I developed my master thesis in urban planning, with a project that propose urban redevelopment strategies for the neighborhoods of Rebouças. Prado Velho e Jardim Botãnico in the horizon 2030. Architecture includes many different fields and disciplines from wich I would like to learn as much as they can offer. And this is why in the last years I worked at ARA Architecture in French Guiana and I did internships with both brazilian, portuguese and italian firms, where I developed projetcs in different scales, from interior to urban design.

ARA Architecture Aménagement. Cayenne. French Guiana location Matoury, French Guiana theme Urban regolatory plan team ARA, SECOTEM, BOTANIK PAYSAGE
The “Les mélodies de Morthium” subdivision project is being developed to establish the continuity of the village of Matoury within a rapidly expanding sector, located at the entrance to the city along the rn2. The operation is located on plot no. 132 of the AL section of the municipality’s cadastre. The subdivision of “Mélodies de Morthium” meets the significant need for housing , business premises and shops and offers a particularly attractive location near the center of Matoury. This operation will lead to the creation of approximately 61 dwellings promoting connections between the new reseditential area and the the municipality as well as providing a diversified habitat. The program provides a mix of uses : collective buildings, individual houses, offices and commercial premises. The plan includes: 1 commercial building of approximately 1000 m2, 3 office buildings and several business premises.

The central square connects the existing urban fabric to the new project. Parts of the forest are preserved in the square (and used as large gardeners with benches to sit in the shade) in a game of full and empty spaces, in the same way that in the preserved forest are inserted mineralized spaces used as play areas. To unite the mineral space of the square and the vegetal space of the forest, like an Ariadne’s thread, a serpentine strip of coloured cement is drawn on the ground, along which the whole urban furniture is grouped. It acts as a guiding thread from the city to the natural space and extends along the Morthium crique. Sport activities can be enjoyed under trees’ shade, in particular outdoor bodybuilding and children’s games. The project was designed with the aim of densifying as much as possible (following the program and the needs of the client) the area next to the existing building. The project has allowed to preserve, on the other hand, a large area of forest made available, and therefore “alive” for recreational activities.

The location of the 42-unit residence within a specific road and landscaping network in the city of Cayenne (Boulevard Mandela, Canal Laussat), at the entrance to the old center, makes it a very unique urban space. The organization of the entry axis of the “hyper center” city on which the project site is grafted, which is also a local artery of a new “center” district, will have to participate in the offer and the organization of rear quarters, mainly residential. The new composition of the project must therefore meet expectations of urban scales by dealing with the frontality on boulevard Mandela, but it must also announce the entrance to the neighborhood while maintaining porosities with the peripheral neighborhoods, both those located on the other side of the boulevard and those at the back in exclusively residential areas. Two main volumes meet the three urban requirements: frontality on Boulevard Mandela, support for East-West transversality and participation in the rear districts of the boulevard. A third lateral

Internship at Ufficio Progetti Architetti Associati Bertani & Vezzali. R.E. Italy location Sorbolo, R.E. theme School complex tutor Francesca Vezzali
During my internship at the architects associates bertani & vezzali, I participated in the design and preparation of the material for various public competitions. These include the competition for the innovative school of Sorbolo. (second classified). The call for tenders required the creation of a first and second level school with an adjoining sports center. The studio’s proposal sought to go beyond the simple request to create a school building, we proposed a real “cultural center, open not only to students but also to the whole community, outside of the purely class timetable. We therefore started with an urban proposal, through the creation of a large pedestrian and cycle path that connects the school with the neighborhoods. The sports center is open to the population for the most diverse disciplines. The school is organized on two levels: the common areas on the first floor and the classrooms on the second. The prefabricated wooden structure and the careful study of natural ventilation make this building environmentally sustainable.

During the internship at the Gres Panaria Group, the Love Tiles division, I was involved, in collaboration with the Marketing Department, of the drafting of the project for the renovation of the Aveiro showroom. A first part consists in the creation of four environments in which the materials of the new Marble collection, inspired by marble, are proposed. The basic idea is to create spaces connected to each other by the concept of “home, thus proposing an entrance, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The second part, however, contains the proposal for a larger space where a small apartment was recreated, using the materials of the latest collections, Core, Arena, Tree and Marble again. The themes of these are cement and wood, major protagonists of interior design in the current scenario.

During the two months of training at Luiz Volpato Arquitetura, the main project was the world volleyball arena, held in Curitiba in July 2017. I dealt mainly with executive drawings regarding the disposition of entries and exits, both for the public and for the teams, TV and newspapers, and the same for the seats of the stands and for the specific technical rooms. Inside the technical rooms I have carried out the revision of lighting and ventilation systems adapted to the needs of the event. At the project level, I am mainly occupied by the restaurant, which is being built slowly, with the design of a green false ceiling and lighting system.

downtown area revitalization
Internship Institute for Research and Urban Planning of Curitiba (IPPUC) location Curitiba Brasil theme Urban planning tutor Cèlia Bim
The project we developed during my internship at IPPUC approaches the downtown area revitalization. It has a concept of rethinking the city design, in contrast with the homogeneus landscape. The area was related to a place of great pedestrian circulation, near the public transportation station at Rui Barbosa Square, the traditional XV of November Street, the Emiliano Perneta, Desembargador Westephalen and Voluntario da Patria Streets. These area has only small and low property value buildings with the exeption on the “Museum of Contemporary Art”. Using Master Plan tools, such as Consortium Urban Operation and/or Land Readjustment, we decided the demolition of all the old buildings, and the criation of a new pedestrian square. We recovered the lost surface with the demolitions by creating three new multi-purpose blocks. We also bring the artworks to the urban spaces.

Curitiba. Brasil Urban Letizia Soncini Marianna Sgarbanti
Curitiba is the main city hall of the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba and capital of the state of Paraná, in the southeastern part of Brazil. In the 1971 the visionary engineer and architect Jamie Lerner becomes Curitiba’s major. His main goal was to build a city that growns and develops depending on its citizens. Curitiba today is worldwide known as the Susteinable City. But reality is very different from what propaganda proclaims. ‘Tracados Verdes’ is a regeneration that starts from the inter-built spaces, abandoned or underused areas, forgets of forgotten cities and pushes. Reorganization of empty buildings and the integration of missing services. New pedestrian and cycling routes, buses preferred for buses, neighborhood spaces, equipped parks, cultural and innovation poles and a greater impetus to local trade are some of the strategies for transforming public spaces, benefiting the neighborhoods in their entirety.

Following a specific analysis of mobility macro-themes, open spaces and built spaces, we came to the elaboration of factual states that represented thecurrent situation of the study area. From these, intervention scenarios have been proposed over a period of about fifteen years. Each scenario corresponds to the intervention strategies applicable in the various situations highlighted in the project area.
For some particularly critical areas, their refunctionalism has been proposed. As a central point for this urban regeneration in becoming there is the creation of a green circuit. The triangle formed by the neighborhoods Rebouรงas Prado Velho and Jardim Botanico presents a variety of abandoned or underused open spaces, whose recovery from life to this new urban attraction.
We have selected as the model the linear park that is created by the closure of Rua Conselheiro Laurindo and alongside the Rua Joao Negrao, subjected also to the latter with modifications such as the introduction of a preferential lane for buses. Among other things, this polluted stretch shows the integration between reclaimed spaces and changes to the public transport system and to the mobile mobility.

As shown in the schemes within the new green spaces, two paths have been created, a more linear sporting one, and one with more diversified entertainment. 1) For the sporting route we have thought of inserting a children’s playground, sports fields, soccer, basketball, volleyball and tennis; Skatepark for skating and skateboarding, and outdoor gyms. 2) The entertainment route includes rest areas, pie-inc spaces, small event spaces, and areas dedicated to temporary art exhibitions. Finally, the missing servicemen are introduced, such as bus stops integrated with bike-sharing, refreshments, a large sports center and biodiversity greenhouse linked to the river reclamation and regeneration process. The latter can be used as a space related to environmental education and river condition monitoring. The regeneration process of the park extends to the residential fabric by recovering empty spaces, introducing urban gardens and new community activities. In conclusion, we can say that Green Tracados is part of programs to encourage alternative mobility and environmental recovery. We are aware of the fact that today we need to begin to give strength to these policies and to make the population aware of the urgent need to change our way of life beyond the possibilities of plants. Our project is therefore an attempt to create a model within the city of Curitiba for its future sustainable development.

The project area is located in the neighborhood of Santa Croce, north of Reggio Emilia. The project area is behind the central station of the city, but it is isolated and poorly connected to the center of this city. This isolation, linked to lack of services and public spaces, has made the neighborhood a fate of “ghetto. The intervention takes place on four different themes: 1.The road as the fulcrum of retraining was firstly put to the service of pedestrians, going to delimit a 30km zone that would turn it into a big square; 2. The residential front integrated with commercial services 3. the creation of a great compassion that brings together new social services 4. redesigning public green.

The teme of the intervention is the design of a campus of innovation in the context of the industrial area of Padova. Not only does work functions come up as startup and coworking areas, but also various types of recreational services and areas. The area is also connected with a new park, designed to the side, in irder to allow more leisure for workers, who are offered the opportunity to live within the campus. The walls are the chosen elements for giving uniformity to the intervention. They are not just dead surfaces, but they become the connection between the varios buildings. Palazzo Tassoni is a Reinassence palace in Ferrara, built in the middle XV century and Tassoni’s family house until 1858. Since that day many activities took place in this building and damaged its historical heritage. Palazzo Tassoni was acquired by Ferrara University in the late ‘90s. Part of the building was restores and now is the Design department but the other part is still abandoned and spoilt. Our Restoration tryed to theoretically complete this restoration in order to think about the future integration with the university. The process of restoration of the complex starts with an in-depth historical analysis, continues with the study of the degradation affecting the building and concludes with the proposal of solutions to these criticalities and with a new project of re-vitalization. The proposal for the “Galleria delle Muse“ is the criation of a library for student and the entire population of Ferrara.

The project of the multifunctional tower is located north of Reggio Emilia, along the A1 motorway (Autostrada del sole). On the opposite side of the project area, since 2008, the high-speed station, Mediopadana, has been built by the architect Santiago Calatrava. The station is characterized by a sense of movement achieved through a sequence of vertical elements that develop along a sinusoidal line parallel to the motorway. The project tower becomes a dynamic, distinctive element, that does not go against the Santiago Calatrava station, but enters into a silent dialogue with it and denounces the presence of the city on the horizon. This monolithic element becomes a point of reference for motorists and travelers.

The design idea is basically based on three themes: memory, protection and visions. These are realized through the striking stone wall recalling the material of which pre-existence is composed; The evocative slope of the roof covering protection from cold winds coming from the north; The tall south facing windows framing the mountain landscape. The lightweight, newly constructed wooden structure is based on stone pre-existence, with it being engraved, supported, played, in order to create compositional harmony and an interesting combination of materials that insert this building into the Trentino landscape .

CASTELLO DEL GESSO Wine label
location Reggio Emilia theme Commission tutor Francesca Vezzali The “Castello del Gesso”, of which only the ruins remain, is part of the Castle of Matilde di Canossa circuit, and is close to it that are the vineyards from which this wine originates. The owner’s request had been the creation of a modern style label that recalled the geography of the Emilia territory. This label was born with a square shape, strongly marked by the sinuous white lines that are a clear reference to the hills worked by man. The result is an elegant and delicate graphic, but that, with its play of full and empty, draws the attention of the buyer and remains in his memory.

Accademia della mandorla Academy for the well being of the body and mind l oc at io n Reggio Emilia theme Commission tu t o r Francesca Vezzali
This project starts with the creation of the logo for an Academy of wellness of body and spirit, which includes courses in yoga, qi gong and meditation. The oriental derivation of these practices has led us first to choose the name of “Academy of Almond, while the almond is a symbol of birth and resurrection. Starting from the shape of the almond we have created a mandala, also belonging to oriental symbolism, which recall, in its contrast of black and white colors, the yin and yang. We then dealt with the marketing and diffusion of the courses of this academy, of which the brochure below, is nothing but an example.

Competition of idea for a firm’s logo
location Marche theme Competition team Letizia Soncini
Lisa Pellati
The competition was organized by the Marche Group for the realization of the logo for their architecture, systems and structures firm. The idea of the logo stems from the desire to create a simple and attractive image. We therefore started from the shape of the trinagulum, symbol par excellence of harmony and balance. The request, moreover, to be able to decline it in different fields has led to the development of what is the final result: three triangles of different colors that overlap, create a game of transparencies. This can be easily declined in the three areas: green for architecture, yellow for plant engineering and red for structures. In the digital versione the three colors also identify in wich section you are: if you are in the architectural pages the red trinagolo will be lit and the other two will be gray and so for the other sections.
