Featuring the work of this year’s top UK graduates in the applied arts
Yn rhoi llwyfan i waith graddedigion celfyddydau cymhwysol mwyaf blaenllaw y DU eleni
LGAC have travelled the UK to select the cream of this year’s graduates in the applied arts, searching for those who are pushing the boundaries of applied art whilst maintaining and developing the traditions of their craft. These are the makers and designers destined to lead and shape the next generation of applied artists.
Mae CCLlG wedi teithio ar hyd a lled y DU i ddethol y goreuon o blith graddedigion y celfyddydau cymhwysol eleni, gan chwilio am y rheini sy’n gwthio ffiniau celfyddyd gymhwysol tra’n cynnal a datblygu traddodiadau eu crefft. Y rhain yw’r gwneuthurwyr a’r dylunwyr sydd yn yr arfaeth i arwain a ffurfio’r genhedlaeth nesaf o artistiaid cymhwysol.

Paper has been innovating for nearly two thousand years to meet mankind’s ever-changing needs. From its earliest days it has been essential for capturing and communicating creativity. As the world moves deeper into the digital age, electronic forms of mass communication are starting to take over from paper. However paper still lies at the very heart of applied art practice with a whole new generation of contemporary artists creating new ways of making full use of paper’s unique low cost, flexibility and reusability. Both printed papers and crisp fresh paper are used as inspiration and medium and these artist’s diverse offerings ensure that paper remain as natural, essential and precious as ever.
Mae papur wedi bod yn arloesi ers bron dwy fil o flynyddoedd er mwyn cwrdd ag anghenion cyfnewidiol dynion. Ers ei ddiwrnodau cynharaf, mae wedi bod yn hanfodol ar gyfer cipio a chyflwyno creadigrwydd. Wrth i’r byd symud yn ddyfnach i’r oed ddigidol, mae ffurfiau electronig ar gyfathrebu torfol yn dechrau disodli papur. Fodd bynnag mae papur yn parhau i fod yng nghanol ymarfer celf gymhwysol gyda chenhedlaeth newydd o artistiaid cyfoes yn creu ffyrdd newydd o wneud defnydd llawn o’i natur ailddefnyddiadwy, ei hyblygrwydd a’i bris isel unigryw. Defnyddir papurau argraffedig a phapur newydd, crimp fel ysbrydoliaeth a chyfrwng ac mae offrymau amrywiol yr artistiaid hyn yn sicrhau bod papur yn parhau i fod mor naturiol, hanfodol a gwerthfawr ag erioed.
Aidan Moesby – Tu Fewn
31.10.15 - 02.01.16
Aidan Moesby explores the weather and art through the intersection of his socially engaged art practice. The weather is a rich source of metaphor, it is a driver of philosophical thought and even bound into some revolutionary politics. Tu Fewn is an exciting new development opportunity to commission new high quality work by Disabled visual artists. In partnership Disability Arts Shropshire and Disability Arts Cymru.
Mae Aidan Moesby’n astudio’r tywydd a chelf trwy groestorri ei ymarfer celf sy’n ymgysylltu’n gymdeithasol. Mae’r tywydd yn ffynhonnell ffrwythlon o drosiadau, mae’n ysgogwr meddwl athronyddol ac mae ynghlwm wrth elfennau o wleidyddiaeth chwildroadol hyd yn oed. Mae Tu Fewn yn gyfle datblygu newydd cyffrous i gomisiynu gwaith newydd o ansawdd uchel gan artistiaid sy’n Anabl yn weledol. Mewn partneriaeth â Disability Arts Shropshire a Chelfyddydau Anabledd Cymru.
