THE ISLAND REBORN: Historically, the Zhoushan Islands in Zhejiang Province are rich in products, and marine fisheries have always been the leading local industry, driving local economic development. However, the data in recent years show that the fishing quantity and quality of the Zhoushan Islands fishery have decreased significantly, which has affected the income and social living standards of fishermen. Since the 21st century, the Zhoushan government has begun to promote the development of the tourism industry in order to increase the income of local residents, diversify income and explore a more eco-friendly economic development model. The site is located in the easternmost fishing village of Shengsi Island in the north of Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, China. The island’s natural depressions and proximity to the fishing ground made it one of the early migration destinations for fishermen from other islands. In 2018, the local township government collaborated with the China Academy of Art to paint different colors on the facades of local residents’ buildings, attracting tourists with the “East Sea Color Art Fishing Village”. I came here in 2020 and found that as time passed, the tourist attraction with a single color as its characteristics gradually declined, and there were still unresolved problems in the entire area: the natural surroundings of the entire village were good, but there was a lack of participation Facilities; due to the outflow of population, some sites of the fishery industry remain on the site, such as abandoned shipyards; the use of concrete infrastructure on the coastline in the early development process has damaged the ecological environment, etc. Therefore, I hope to intervene in the site by means of landscape planning/landscape design, reintegrate and plan the overall tourist visit route, and update the local node landscape to increase the attractiveness of the local tourism industry, create an eco-friendly island environment and improve the local Income.

The site was originally used as an abandoned ship repair site, and the ground was divided by several huge tracks. These historical tracks defined the basic appearance of the site: nature was roughly restricted by man-made objects. Based on these original historical dividing lines as the basic framework of the new heritage park, I designed it and divided it into a number of different zones, including the central amphitheater, planting, visitor center, observation deck, etc. Reuse the abandoned site as a park landscape node for tourists and residents.
The area formed by the intersection of the two directional tracks forms a circular amphitheater that hosts a variety of activities where people gather inward.

The landscape design includes an open-air circular theater and a viewing rest step facing the sea. , The resting bench on the gravel ground and the coastal planting area that fluctuates with the tide for people to visit and learn. The texture of the ground changes from land to sea as a whole to fragmentation.

The marina and harbor area is an area where the traffic is chaotic and the functions are mixed, but the landscape plan clarifies each area and enriches the experience on this side.
The pier is covered by a streamlined structure that extends from the top to the sea, and on this structure it offers a much different spatial experience compared to the original pier!
Section View A-A The original breakwater was landscaped to maintain the original height while providing an area where people can move around above the pier, looking out over the sea and leading to distant attractions. At the same time, it enriches the space for visitors to get on and off the passenger pier.
Section View B-B The jetty has been transformed into a small garden for people to use in good weather conditions on the sea, with a boardwalk and a viewing platform. As a newcomer to the area, they have to go through a tunnel after disembarking from the boat to actually access the area, making the beginning and end of their journey more ceremonial!
Marina Square The interface of the access to the breakwater landscape is opened up to form a gentle slope with small plazas at the side of the building, leading people up to view and discover through a linear paving form that extends from the slope to the road. At the same time, the most interesting structure in the area can be seen here: a concrete ice tower landscaped as an observation deck with a viewing platform.
EXPERIENTIAL MARINE FARMING This area includes reef signal islands, offshore floating island structures as a demonstration area for underwater aquaculture for visiting and sea pastures as a productive landscape.

EXPERIMENTAL ART CITY :BORDERLESS RAFTING “In the laterally constructed space of his picture, Picasso, through the compilation of larger and smaller forms, offers the limitless possibilities of alternative reading…” -----<Transparency> Colin Rowe Experimental urban design in the context of the technological age, revolving around the high-tech era we are living in and envisioning future scenarios. In addition to the traditional architectural content, we also pay attention to the means of expression. The aim is to use a series of architectural design methods such as macro-architecture and modules to place artistic experiments in their own time for comparison through an artistic critical perspective, and to select, condense and amplify the experimental effects through design feedback in order to create an impact and respond to the times.

The concept comes from the study of the two concepts of the Internet and heterotopia. The Internet and heterotopia both belong to a system that can be opened, closed and closed based on the real life, which is different from the real life scenes, and the Internet will have more heterotopian properties in the future: heterogeneity with the real life. Therefore, two concepts of "borderless" and "drift" are proposed. In a conventional city, people travel in a point-to-point manner, with a clear purpose and a lack of exploration. Therefore, the internal flow of the building should be different from the surrounding closed city streets, which are roaming, constantly opening up space and feeling without borders. In the architectural space, functions will inevitably be concentrated, and the people living in the space will have to experience sudden changes in the space, quickly switching between different spaces.

XIANGSHAN ART COMMUNE: THE GARDEN OF FRAGMENTS “More a form of cognitive mapping than a synoptic totality of the city fabric…such activities became known as drift, or the dream-like drift through the city”. -----<The Agency of Map: Speculation, Critique and Invention> James Corner The architectural part of the design was then designed for a course in 2017, and the corridor was originally designed to represent a random directional walking system interspersed into the standard building block, where outside space intervenes in a brutal way inside the building. In 2020 I reintroduced this project as a portfolio project, retaining the original architectural form and basic concept, and redesigning the site in a landscape manner based on the original architecture Six gardens inspired by the historical memory of the site are connected by a multi-layer corridor system. Everyone could choose their own route to move through the six gardens, build their very own impression and memory of the place, a dream-like drift through the gardens and through the history.

GARDEN CONCEPT: HISTORY BACK Research into the historical records of the area revealed that the landscape has changed dramatically from ancient times to the present, with the relationship between land and water changing and the nature of the land changing, so I chose six specific geographical features from different periods to inspire the design of each garden
BC 403
AD 220
In the Spring and Autumn period, this area was an ocean of water
沚 Islands
1127
Sediment accumulation and the appearance of base ponds
塘 Puddles

SITE PLAN There are six gardens with different themes between the buildings

垠
Shoals
塘
A riverbank-like boundary divides the site, with triangular blocks standing on the ground
Puddles Numerous pools of water on level ground
沚
Islands Earliest geographical feature with only part of the material exposed

ISLANDS
PUDDLES
Long, long ago, this was a stretch of water dotted with scattered islets where the states of Chu and Yue fought during the Spring and Autumn period.
As the sediment builds up, the waters begin to recede, depositing sandy beaches leaving basal ponds of various sizes

FARM LAND
SHOALS
As the river moved away, the land was developed by the feudal dynasties into farmland for cultivation, mainly of traditional Chinese crops such as rice
The Qiantang River shoreline shifts westwards and the west bank is adjacent to the mountains in this area, which are historically recorded as an important ferry port

FOREST
CITY
In the pre-infrastructure development period, agricultural land was abandoned and scattered trees grew up here as a vegetation derivative of the mountain across a river
In the post-2008 period, China's rapid property development has seen vast tracts of land being developed for residential or commercial centres and the rapid spread of cities, with views from nature becoming increasingly rare.

One island, two islands, three islands, the rest is the ocean
One pond two ponds, bare ground, planted with a tree
A great river flows northwards and two mountains rise from the flat earth
Don't forget where our food comes from
The pristine forest is the most valuable landscape
The landscape, divided by the urban interface, is displayed like an exhibit in a museum
