Sparkling waters. World-class beaches. A life-support system for birds, fish and wildlife. An economic engine for Manitoba. A place where families connect and memories are made. Lake Winnipeg is the tenth largest freshwater lake in the world and a source of local pride. But it’s it also in trouble.

During the summer months, Quest Musique’s Music School is pleased to offer a variety of week long day camps, aimed at teaching students specific styles of music in a fun and relaxed environment. Our camp leaders are all Quest Music School staff with years of experience in their respective genres of music. While our music school offers lessons during the year, these camps are an excellent way to learn more about a specific genre of music. Students of all ages are welcome, regardless of experience. Vocalists and performers can gain experience through our musical theater and vocal ensemble camps, guitar players can chose between blues camp or rock camp, and songwriters can participate in a weeklong workshop dedicated to exploring the art of songwriting!

DAY TRIP DESTINATIONS 2014 | 15
Steinbach Corn Maze and Adventures is an amazing destination with much more to offer than just a maze. It is just a short 30 minute drive southeast of Winnipeg, just off the #52 highway near Steinbach. Indoor activities such as a netted air bouncer, mini maze and battery powered quads for young children, allows fun even when the weather isn’t cooperative. The games room also hosts an Olympic hockey net (used in the 2010 Vancouver Olympic run) a number of large air hockey and foosball tables, two arcade style competition shootout games, a 9 hole mini golf course and the Black Hole maze! Outside, you can explore tipis, nature trails, straw mazes, the play park and feed the animals. You can also experience the new corn cannon and see how many targets you can hit! There’s also 5 Go-Karts on a new fenced-in track, a giant, human foosball game (8 players) Hay rides and party rooms are available by reservation. Indoor BBQ`s and outdoor fire pits are available upon request. Steinbach Corn Maze and Adventures is an ideal destination for a school field trip. Teachers love the hands-on learning approach offered in the barn classrooms. Videos and exhibits allow to demonstrate how corn impacts our day- to-day life (i.e. food, fuel, clothing, and animal feed just to name a few). In a short period of time, this 4th generation historic farm has become a prime destination for school trips, team windups, corporate get-togethers, family outings and birthday parties. It offers a variety of activities for all ages to enjoy, rain or shine.

Oak Hammock Marsh and Quarry Park are the perfect Gateways to the Interlake. Both are located within close distance to Winnipeg and are the perfect entry points to explore this vast and beautiful region located between the two great lakes of Manitoba. Oak Hammock Marsh: one of North America’s birding hotspots! This 36 km2 Wildlife Management Area features a restored wetland which is home to 300 species of birds. Hundreds of thousands waterfowl can be seen daily during the migration season. Lure crops, artesian springs and some of Manitoba’s last remaining patches of tall-grass prairie can be explored with over 30 kilometers of hiking trails. The award-winning Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre is located on the edge of this wetland. Open year-round, the Interpretive Centre welcomes group tours and school visits for hands-on, curriculum based programs for all ages, including canoe excursions, snowshoe walks and many more. Whether you are visiting us with your school or youth group, celebrating a birthday, or looking for programs to enhance your visit, we will strive to provide you with a memorable experience. Located just minutes north of Winnipeg, the Interpretive Centre features wheelchair-accessible facilities including a 120-seat multimedia theatre, a scenic café, a gift shop, meeting rooms, rooftop observation deck, and interactive exhibits. Special events and workshops are scheduled throughout the year, and are designed to appeal to visitors of all ages. Our 80 acre park was developed in a former limestone quarry in the town of Stonewall just 25 kilometers north of Winnipeg. You’ll find baseball diamonds, a man-made lake, a campground, walking trails and the Quarry Park Heritage Arts Centre. Open year round, the Quarry Park Heritage Arts Centre is a “must visit” education destination. Come and Explore all that Stonewall Quarry Park has to Offer! The Centre offers several curriculum based program choices and hands-on learning experiences for various grade levels. These programs can be complimented with guided tours of the interactive exhibits, fossil hunting, or time at one of the park’s recreational areas. All programs include support materials so classes can follow up after their visit. Our spring through fall programs have geology based themes and in the winter months we offer a winter survival program suitable for all age groups. There are self guiding options also available. Here’s what one student had to say about their visit to the Park: “ I loved the quarry! It was interesting and exciting. Bad jokes, YES! Fun, YES! This park is a must. Lots of info and neat activities. Add on an interesting tour and presto, you have fun! The exhibits were cool and the people were helpful. I hope the people that come here next have fun too. But how could they not? From collecting fossils and learning the rock cycle you have one fun filled day!” -Alex Malabar For 30 years, Stonewall Quarry Park has been the destination for fun and learning. If you’re interested in seeing for yourself why so many schools visit us year after year, give us a call. Our professional staff will help design a day that meets the needs of your group.

Celebrating our 55th Anniversary this season, Holiday Mountain is a second generation Manitoba family business. With two double chairlifts and a carpet lift on the Bunny Hill, the Resort has something for everyone. Manitoba winters are cold, but whether you’re planning a family vacation or a group booking, we have everything you need for the best possible day in the snowy outdoors! Skiing & Snowboarding can be intimidating, to say the least. If it’s your first time, you might be terrified! If it’s been a while since you were last on the slopes, you still might be dreading the memorable moment when one ski goes left, the other goes right and suddenly… you’re in the splits. But really, we’re all beginners once. With our massive fleet of over 1000 sets of rentals, and a team that prides themselves in helping every single skier and snowboarder be the happiest, safest, and most comfortable they can be, you’ll be coasting down the Manitoba Mountains with ease and style! The quickest and safest way to improve your skills is through instruction and mileage. Ideally, you learn the right techniques and build on them. Lessons are available for all new skiers and boarders with a professional member of the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance or the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors. Within our School Program, beginner, intermediate and advanced lessons are offered to every student. The instructors will not only guild them through a safe skill progression, but ensure that they do not attempt to navigate any runs that are beyond their current ability level. Air Holiday Ziplines opened in 2013, Manitoba’s first Winter Ziplines. Ride the chairlift up and Zip down over the ski hill, no hiking required. At 1497 feet long, they are the province’s fastest & longest Ziplines. Professionally designed, engineered and installed, Air Holiday is certified by the Office of the Fire Commissioner and an approved activity for School Groups. With automatic, hands-free braking systems, rider assistance is not required. Simply lean back and enjoy the view of the beautiful Pembina Valley.
