QNMF: Ghost Ensemble

May 17 // 8pm Ghost Ensemble seeks to create experiential music. We see the greatest music as a transcendent bridge between worlds; such music is naturally experienced sensually and intuitively rather than intellectually. Thus, rather than focusing on a particular time period or genre, we look toward the essence of the music’s effect. Curating the full atmosphere of each event, Ghost Ensemble explores both traditional and non-traditional venues to expand the musical experience; the familiar becomes unfamiliar through musical transcendence, while unexpected and unexplored places become a new layer of beauty. For the Queens New Music Festival, Ghost Ensemble will be joined by cellist Meaghan Burke and conductor David Bloom. (see Fri. QNMF for details)
