We usually study the birth of Christ at Advent as a single, glorious event. Everything about the Advent story pulls at our emotions: the young virgin who was willing to do whatever God wanted of her; the betrothed husband who put aside cultural traditions to humbly be used by God; the quiet, humble birth in a borrowed stable; and the glorious proclamation of the birth by an army of God’s angels to the shepherds nearby. It’s a wonderful story.

But the story of Advent is so much more than that. Advent is one part of God’s amazing plan for His people. -is Advent season, rejoice in the birth of God’s Son as you also look at the bigger picture––God’s plan to bring salvation and restoration through His Son––by taking a journey from the cradle to the crown.
