EDITOR’S LETTER

MOMENTS IN THE FLOW What an exciting journey this is! When I first took on the assignment of being not only the Publisher, but also the Editor-in-Chief of Life in the Overflow Magazine, I never thought that I would be looking back, 7 years in retrospect. I am humbled by how God’s fingerprint remains on each issue, and since the first June 2010 issue, growth is apparent. Within my own self, I didn’t think that I could wear the many hats that it took to get this magazine out of my head and in print! It took trial and error and a lot of late nights and early mornings to bring each issue to pass. Along the way, I have met some wonderful people in business, church, ministry and other industries that are living their lives poured out. They are fulfilling their God plan for their lives. It is stories and testimonies like those that keep me moving forward in the overflow. In this issue, we connect with a few dynamic women in the Kingdom of God. Christian Recording artist Tracy Neal gets in the flow and talks about her new music and how worship has brought restoration in her life. We also talk to Ros Harrison of Beauty for Ashes Ministry about her recent event to empower women.. Be sure to also check out 6 Ways to Know You are Not Fulfilling Your Purpose by author D’Andrea Bolden; Women With Vision: What Do You See? by ShaDonna McPhaul and more.

Thank you for getting in the flow with me and staying in the flow with me! I look forward to celebrating you in the future!

6 Ways to Know You Are NOT Fulfilling Your Purpose

F.L.O.W. FAITH

Contributed by D’Andrea Bolden

Everyone wants to know who they “are” and they want to know the purpose for their life. Unfortunately our modern society has many people driven by their careers and money instead of pursuing a purpose driven life. Your purpose in life is usually something that comes naturally, something you enjoy and something that many times you would do for free.

There are a number of way to recognize you are not fulfilling your purpose but I only included 6 in this particular blog post.

1. Constant Feeling of Dissatisfaction With Life A purposeless life will leave you constantly feeling empty, down and unfulfilled. The earth is filled with people who are miserable on their jobs and in life because they know that their life Purpose is not to be confused with a hobby or your favorite past serves a greater purpose but they just are not sure what that great time because your God ordained purpose will not only bring you purpose is.... fulfillment but will also help advance the Kingdom of God. Our true purpose will not only be beneficial to self but will also be a III John 1:2 - Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest blessing and a help to many others. If the very thing you feel is prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. your purpose does not advance God’s Kingdom and help others it is self-ambition and the desire for personal gain. 2. Always mimicking and copying others in hopes to obtain the same/similar result We were all created to bring glory to God in one way or another. Social media has made it very easy for people to keep up with A tractor, bike boat, and a car are all modes of transportation but people of interest especially those we deem successful. One of the they serve different purposes. When comparing them you can down falls to this is that many people try to be a carbon copy of see their purpose based on their limitations and their advantages. someone else in order to attempt the same level of success of the A car does not belong in the water it was not created for that it person they are copying. This many times leaves people broke, belongs on the road. And you can not use a boat to plow a field disappointed, and angry because they did not achieve their quest but you would instead use a tractor. Just like these 4 modes of to do and achieve the same as someone else. Too many people transportation all serve different yet specific purposes the same is have wasted their time trying to fulfill someone else’s purpose true when it comes to God’s people. If God can create each and instead of their own. everyone of us with unique DNA and fingerprints certainly he did not fall short or miss the mark in giving us all a unique purpose. Psalm 139:14 - I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for right well. good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. 3. Lacking Direction in life Not knowing your purpose in life leaves you with a lot of unJeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, answered questions. Many times unanswered questions allows saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you people to become a victim of life taking whatever comes their an expected end. way. Out of desperation for answers to the questions of life many Ephesians 1:11 - In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, people seek out psychics, mediums, palm readers and the like being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh when they should be seeking their Heavenly Father. If my car all things after the counsel of his own will: breaks down I take it back to the place it came from and since we all came from God as we are His creation that is who we should Isaiah 43:7 - [Even] every one that is called by my name: for I seek when we need answers concerning our lives. have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. Proverbs 16:9 - A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps. Ephesians 2:10 - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

3. Lacking Direction in life Not knowing your purpose in life leaves you with a lot of unanswered questions. Many times unanswered questions allows people to become a victim of life taking whatever comes their way. Out of desperation for answers to the questions of life many people seek out psychics, mediums, palm readers and the like when they should be seeking their Heavenly Father. If my car breaks down I take it back to the place it came from and since we all came from God as we are His creation that is who we should seek when we need answers concerning our lives. Proverbs 16:9 - A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps. 4. Lack of plans, goals When you know your purpose you understand that your goals, plans and objectives will focus on fulfilling your purpose in the earth. When you know why you were created and what you are supposed to be doing you will not waste your time with an abundance of things that have nothing to do with your purpose. Being busy and walking in purpose are totally different concepts. In fact you can be heading nowhere fast while being extremely busy but never fulfilling your purpose. Purpose will get you to a fruitful place and guide you towards your destiny. Proverbs 29:18 - Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. 5. No Vision Purpose brings vision to your life. People without purpose will lack vision and many times they are miserable and have a tendency to get angry and envious of those who have vision and that know their purpose. Habakkuk 2:2 - And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 6. Being a Busy Body Individuals who are not fulfilling their purpose and that have no vision tend to spend a lot of their time meddling in other men’s affairs. No vision, no goals and or purpose centered objectives usually leaves people with excess time on their hands. Too much time with no purpose for their time can be a pitfall for people to gravitate towards negativity. Excess of drama, gossiping, backbiting, envy, jealousy and the like show a lack of identified purpose in a person’s life. Ultimately a person that lacks purpose also lacks intimacy with our Heavenly Father. Those that have a relationship with God will discover their God ordained purpose. I Timothy 5:13 - And withal they learn [to be] idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. 2 Thessalonians 3:11 - For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. 1 Thessalonians 4:11 - And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 1 Peter 4:15 - But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or [as] a thief, or [as] an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. Ultimately a person that lacks purpose also lacks intimacy with our Heavenly Father. Those that have a relationship with God will discover their God ordained purpose.

Prophetic Winds Encounter hosted by Prophetess Teresa Williams and TSW Ministries (Milwaukee, WI) Walking into the venue hosted at the Comfort Suites in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was peaceful, and quietly worship music filled the background as the speakers arrived. Guest speakers from the region were Prophetess Shanica Bell (Life in the Overflow Ministries); Pastor Brenda Nelson (New Outlook Ministries); Pastor Catherine Richards (Kingdom Sight Ministries), and Apostle Toyiann Bracy (Total Life Center Ministry) psalmist for the event. The anointing of God was ushered in by Apostle Toyiann Bracy with a pure, authentic prophetic worship. A powerful praise dance by Sister Marilyn, then the speakers ministered and worship followed again with the call for prayer. Breaking through to another level in worship, the glory of God swept through and moved through each soul in attendance. A measure of deliverance was poured out in the overflow. M O T H E R S: WHERE ARE THEY?

The truth of the matter is that, church mothering starts at home....

If you grew up in the church, then you are familiar with the ‘church mother’. She may not be your mother, but she was everyone’s mother at church. You know the church mother, she sits on the front pew dressed in all white, including a big white hat. She keeps an attentive eye, much like a watchman on many things happening inside the church and for the most part, her mothering role is just that. The church mother is the one that will pull you to the side and tell you to spit out your chewing gum when the ushers didn’t catch you, stop running in church or talking during the Word; she is even the one that will keep a watchful eye on the young ladies in the church. In the movies she is depicted as a gossiper, the one that keeps the young girls in line by addressing their attire and the lengths of the hems of their dresses. She is also the one that sees Jezebel coming from a mile away. Church mothers. Where are they now? In the churches of today, you rarely see that front pew occupied by the women in all white. Is it that the grandmothers of today are far too young or not seasoned enough to mother in the church? Have all the church mothers gone on to Glory? Why does it seem that this role has been retired in the church? There has been a shift, where the church mother numbers dwindled and the numbers of spiritual mothers have increased and the pastor’s wife has now become the church mother and the spiritual mother of her congregation. Some say this two roles are not the same and the ‘First Lady’ cannot be the church mother. In a recent discussion with a former church mother, we went over some of the reasons why there are no longer many churches that have this role in place. The main reason discussed, was the backlash from today’s generation. In the spirit of offense, the children have become disrespectful and sometimes the church mother may have to deal with verbal repercussions from the child’s parent. It has come down to church mothers simply not saying anything anymore. Another reason was that the pastor simply does not allow them to address certain issues anymore. Those issues are now handled under new protocol within the church. Although church mothers were needed and the women of the church felt that they could go to the church mother in confidence about things they couldn’t share with the First Lady or Pastor, the truth of the matter is, church mothering starts at home.

ABUNDANT LIVING Church Mothers: Where Are They? - Continued Parents have to be accountable with how their children come to church and should make sure they come to church appropriate. Parents as well, especially mothers; be mindful of spandex, see through clothing and some styles and trends are cute, but not for church. 1 Timothy 2:8-10 KJV In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety, not with broided hair, or gold, or peals, or costly array. But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. Now without taking on a religious undertone, ladies you know what is appropriate, enticing, flashy and clothing that makes you ‘feel yourself’. Those are the items you don’t wear at church. There is a dress code attire at work, so there should be one in the church as well. Your daughters are watching the way that you carry yourself. Legs out, cleavage, super short, large splits and some things are just not modest apparel for a woman. Parents also must be accountable for the way their child conduct\s themselves in the house of God. ‘Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” Proverbs 22:6. We would love for the church mother to take her stance again in the church, but we must begin to teach, train and nurture our children and home. One day our children ill become parents and we want them to instill good virtues and morals in their children.

Mirror Me is a book that every parent should have in their home libraries and a book to invite your children to have an open discussion about. WOMEN OF VISION WHAT DO YOU SEE?

F.L.O.W. FREEDOM

Contributed by ShaDonna McPhaul

A

s a mom, retired Air Force Veteran, best-selling author, radio talk show host, and CEO/Founder of Mo’s Heroes Incorporated, it has become more imperative than ever to keep my vision of the future I want to live crystal clear not only for my sanity, but for the lives of the community partners I hope to impact with positive change. I have a popular saying that I use often on social media before I start a post “If you know me in real life...” I say this to remind myself and the rest of my social media friends that one of my goals in life is to be as impactful to the world as “Oprah (Winfrey, Steve (Harvey) Ellen (DeGeneres) just to name a few of my talk show heroes and legends. My vision is to help bring public awareness to all the help and support that’s available to our Veterans, Service Members, their families, and the communities we live. Every day I try to connect with a community leader, a media outlet, a marketing company, and post a positive, informative message on a social media outlet in hopes the messages “spread like wildfire” and the communities rally together to support their neighbors and start conversations that will result in action. I believe that every individual has goals and a vision for a better life, I could be wrong but I believe it. When we get stuck on “what’s not working”, we often lose the vision. Let’s not lose the vision because everything we are striving for is obtaining if we stay focus, break down the goals and simply put in the work. I know you may be reading this and saying “that’s easier said than done, Mo”. I never said it would be easy, but like the

16

BE the FLOW! | SUMMER 2017

old saying goes “if it was easy everyone would be doing it”. Having a “Vision” and believing in yourself is half battle. Your vision serves as your “road map” for the “Trip of a lifetime” There may be some bumps in the road or detours, but do the research and know “where you can get the gas”, “how much it’s going to be” and “when is the best time to get”. I always like to share tips from my own personal experiences because I don’t want anyone to fall in hole when you don’t have to fall.

- Funding is available, but your credit has to be intact. If you have to get a part-time job or sell some items you are no longer using to pay some outstanding debt, prioritize and figure out what do you want more. The old stuff or the new stuff! - Step out of your comfort zone. It’s ok to work with people who look different than you and think different than you. You will find hidden opportunities by just sparking a simple conversation.

- Don’t be afraid to start small, but dream big.

- Success come with a cost. You may lose some friends, some relationships, some sleep, family time, and a lot of money. Are you ready for that?

- Collaborate with people you genuinely like and don’t mind spending long hours with because there will be a lot of long hours.

I say all this to say anything you can envision is attainable if you are willing to do the work, connect with your community, and never give up!

- Get to know the family members of your collaborations partner, they will play a role in the business relationship directly or indirectly. - Just because you would do it for free, don’t! I’m not just talking about the money, ensure you are getting something out of the deal that moves you closer to your dreams. - Break down your goals. It’s easier to eat a whole pie one piece at a time over a course of a few days than at the same sitting right? - Don’t get discouraged when the people closest to you don’t support you in the way you feel they should support you. Everyone has their own way of showing support. They are probably your biggest “Behind the scene” supporter.

You Don’’t Know My Story Someone You Should Know

ROS HARRISON

O

n Saturday, May 20, 2017 Life in the Overflow Enterprise, LLC. attended ‘You Don’t Know My Story 3’, hosted by Ros Harrison at the beautiful Double Tree by Hilton hotel in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. “This was my first time attending this event and I was very blessed by the wonderful testimonies of all the speakers that attended the event,” says Life in the Overflow Magazine’s Editor in retrospect. “I was happy to finally meet Ros Harrison and I pray God’s continued favor over her life.” She continues, “There were so many women there who shared their hard, shameful, some heartbreaking stories. But God. Many of us were liberated, healed and delivered by their testimonies and I believe that they even gained a dose of empowerment in the midst of us. We cried together, prayed for one another and cheered each other on. It was a true sisterhood; whether you were there as a servant to the Woman of God, a speaker, or a vendor (like me); God had his way in that place. What a pure move of God. The openness and masks removed from us all, as we related parts of our own testimonials to what we heard from other women, it gave no room for judgment or scrutiny. We were blessed beyond measure.” Life in the Overflow Magazine had some time to chat with Ros Harrison about the event and the commission on her life to carry out the vision and the God appointed assignment. COVER STORY In the F.L.O.W. LIVE Radio Interview Holy Ground Music Group LLC, introduces New Christian Artist and Worship Leader of New Destiny Family Worship Center in New Brunswick, Tracy Neal. Tracy joins Life in the Overflow Magazine’s publisher, Shanica Bell on In the F.L.O.W. Live Radio broadcast and talks about her worship and restoration. With such a sweet spirit and bubbly personality; she starts off in a triumphant spirit, saying that she is excited to see what God is going to do next because He’s constantly amazing us if we pay attention. LITO MAG: Tell us about yourself and your musical background. TRACY NEAL: Well, musically I grew up as a preacher’s kid, it was a small southern church; and of course we were in the choir and I am the youngest of 6. You know we’d go around to different churches and sing in the family. Music has always been a part of who I am, it’s just always been there. My mother was actually going to tour with Conway Twitty when she was younger. So music has always been who we are. And then you add the music and who we are to scripture and it just becomes the essence of your soul. It becomes who you are as a person. But that’s basically the musical background. From church music, I studied Jazz in school. LITO MAG: I read in your bio that you knew early on what your purpose in life. I thought that was amazing. Most people don’t know what their purpose is. TRACY NEAL: Most people don’t know their purpose. They don’t pay attention to doors that are opening for them. The word says, Your gift will bring you before good men, not the other way around. If you want to know what your purpose is, look at the doors that are opening in your life. LITO MAG: What inspires you? TRACY NEAL: Oh my goodness, it would have to be the flow of worship. Musically - the music is a byproduct. Most people think that when you’re singing you’re worshiping; but you’re worshiping by singing, so music is the tool that is created from the worship. So what inspires me is the worship. When someone is so dedicated and determined and so full of faith, that no matter what they are going through, it doesn’t matter what it looks like they can still say thanks be to God and still say I thank you, I trust you. God trust you. You’re my provider and my shelter - when you have absolutely no proof, but when someone’s faith is so strong that they are determined to make through with worship that what

inspires me, inspires the worship. The music comes out of the worship. My music inspiration comes from moments when it’s just me and God. LITO MAG: What’s one of your favorite tracks from your project (old or new) and why? TRACY NEAL: That’s a difficult question, because I love both singles! But my favorite has to be ‘Jesus’, because everything is in the name of Jesus. Everything answer you need is in the name of Jesus. Every healing so many people want the benefits of Jesus. And Paul said, Oh that I may know him in the suffering and in the fellowship of his death, not just in the highs; so many people want the deliverance but they don’t want to be delivered from anything. They want don’t want to be sick but want the healing. They don’t want to go through the valley to get to the mountain. But you can’t get delivered if you’re not bound at some point. There is everything you need in that name. The song defines me, HE is everything. LITO MAG: You have overcome many things, battling domestic, low self esteem - things that many of us go through every day. What some words of wisdom that you would give to someone that may be in the same situation; perhaps battling addiction, going through a divorce or a physical illness? TRACY NEAL: You’re stronger than you think you are. You are able to conquer anything with the help of God. He is able to restore every single thing that the enemy has stolen from you or the things that you gave up to the enemy. Sometimes the enemy doesn’t steal it take anything, we give it to him. God is able to restore every single thing that has been taken from you…and if you just hold on and keep going. If you try to break the addiction and you fall, try again! Every single time, get back up. There is nothing that can be withheld from those who are called after God. If you speak that name Jesus he will step in. The trouble doesn’t last always; there will come a time when you will rejoice and God will use you to help someone else in the exact same thing that you’re in. But first you have to get back up. First, you cant give up keep moving up. First you have to get up every day and keep saying I am worth it and I will conquer whatever it is. Whatever it is you’re able to - do it.

Someone You Should Know: Interview with Ros Harrison- Continued from page 18

LITO MAG: Tell us about yourself and your ministry. ROS HARRISON: Oh wow, this will take book (Lol). My name is Rosaland Harrison (Ros). I was born in Great Lakes, IL but raised and lived in Waukegan, IL almost my entire life up until the last 6 months. I am the second oldest of five children. I have 3 children and four grandchildren. I attended and graduated from Waukegan West High School (Raiders)!!!! I attended The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Kendall College in Chicago, IL I work for Waukegan Public Schools District 60 as an Executive Team Assistant for the Division of Strategy and Accountability.

I also own Agape Graphics and am the founder of Beauty For Ashes Ministry where our mission is to “ Empower Women, one heart at a time”. I got saved at the age of 21. I didn’t grow up in church, but my family is Catholic. I attended church with my grandmother as a child. At first I would attend just to go to the candy store with her afterwards but it all changed at the age of 8, when God visited me while in the church. I didn’t understand but told my grandmother I wanted more. My grandmother moved away, so I was unable to attend church again. God visited me again at the age of 13. The hunger was there but I had no one to cultivate it. I asked questions but no one had answers or direction for me, so I pushed ‘it’ aside but God kept dealing with me. Didn’t know what it was. I was so thirsty to know more about Him that I searched various religions, but didn’t find what I was looking for until November 1992, when I found and gave my life and heart to Christ. From that time until now, I have been a member of 3 different churches, serving faithfully in two. I served on various auxiliaries and was a part of Leadership. I knew there was something “different” about me but never knew what it was. I knew when I prayed for others, God moved and things happened. I knew I could speak to people and the Holy Spirit would take over, I had no idea what that was. My paternal grandmother was a prophet, my father and aunts walked in the prophetic as well, but it wasn’t as prominent as it is now, so there wasn’t a label for it. It was when I joined another ministry that the Prophetic gift was stirred up. I attended Prophetic training at Crusaders Ministry in Chicago, IL, John Veal Ministries in Gurnee and Chicago, IL Fast forward to today. Beauty for Ashes Ministry is truly the heart and guiding of the Holy Spirit. Who would have thought after going through all of the hurt, rejection, despair and grief a ministry would be birthed? Certainly not me. God gave me You Don’t Know MY story first and I thought it was a one-time event, until He gave me Beauty for Ashes. He has commissioned me to bring healing and empowerment to His women. Lil ole me. From the Duplex. God grabbed me when I was struggling in my walk with Him. Church hurt, disappointment, divorce, death of a child, daughter’s pregnancy, left me defeated. The devil came in when my guards and defenses were totally down and I found myself in something I had no business being in , then He called me, in the midst of my sin. You can say I had a Damascus Road experience. Beauty for Ashes Ministry is about unity not only amongst women but the body of Christ. Our purpose is to uplift and empower you. To let you know that we ALL have a past. We all have fallen short. We’re not here to judge and condemn, it’s enough of that going on in the church and through social media, we are here to encourage women. To let them know that God is able, and that they are not alone. We are here to spread the love of Christ by any means necessary LITO MAG: What does Beauty for Ashes mean to you personally? ROS HARRISON: Beauty for Ashes is me. When God gave me that name, I never asked Him why that name. I automatically knew. The word of God says in Isaiah 61:3 , that he will give a crown of beauty for ashes for those who mourn. A crown signifies authority. Beauty for Ashes represents a transformation. Transforming Rejection for Acceptance. Low Self Esteem for Confidence. Hurt and Pain for Joy. Sorrow for Unspeakable Joy. Your days of mourning are over. God said He will give it to us. Not only will He give it to us, but He is also giving us the Authority to walk in this transformation. The ashes represents everything I have endured, gone through, but the beauty, the beauty the crown of beauty is what God had for me all along. What He has for all of us. He wants to give it to us. Once God began to Heal me. I wanted to not only see others experience the same healing, but do my best to ensure that if I could prevent just one person from going and enduring the same type of pain, I would and I am.

LITO MAG: Why is it important for you to share ministry outside of the usual church forum? ROS HARRISON: First of all let me be honest, it wasn’t my choice, it was a directive given from the throne of heaven. I was riding in the car on my way to a ministry trip with one of my friends when I shared with her that God had told me to host a Women’s Event. But He told me not to have it in the church because so many had been hurt by the church and He wanted to heal His women. At that time I was still in the stage of questioning whether or not I was hearing from God, I was not walking completely in His will, so I doubted it. True to how amazing my God is, during the meeting, the host, who was also a Pastor and Prophetess, prophesied those exact words to me. I actually recorded it. She told me that not only would I host a Women’s Event, but that it would be a place of refuge. Mind you, I had not told anyone but my friend and we were sitting next to each other at this meeting, so I know she said absolutely nothing to this Prophet. She told me that God said not to have it in a church building because so many had been hurt and wounded by the church. My mouth was left wide open, even through the tears I just could not believe that 1. I heard from him 2. He had chosen me for this assignment. He also told me that it would not be named a “conference” but summit, because many associated the word conference with religion. Disclaimer: Nothing against anyone hosting conferences, I am just repeating what God gave to me. I will say this, after the first You Don’t Know My Story, my inbox was inundated with testimonies from those who had left the church due to hurt, abuse, etc. Some even told me that had the event been held in the church, they would not have attended. I don’t encourage people not to attend church, totally the opposite, I redirect them to churches and/or pastors, but there are a lot of hurting women and men out there. People who have left the church, not because they’re disobedient, can’t submit, or backslidden, but they have been truly hurt. Some have moved on to other ministries, but there are many sitting at home. I will be honest, I tried to stay at home but God would not let me. I had gone through so much in my life that I felt like I was drowning over and over again. I tried the safety of the church but it backfired. I tried to visit other local churches but wanted to go to a place where no one knew me or where I came fro. I needed to just sit. That wasn’t possible, so I just stayed home. During that short period,I spent so much time in the presence of God. I had no choice. But the “word” around the religious town was that I had backslidden. It was so far from the truth. I experienced so much religion that I knew that You Don’t Know My Story would be the total opposite. Not because it’s what I wanted, but the people God has called me to. There is so much ministry in the marketplace-outside of the four church walls, and that is where God has assigned me. I’m just being obedient. I can’t explain it, I just have to trust, believe and follow. LITO MAG: Tell us about YDKMS, the vision and what’s God says about it in the future. ROS HARRISON: You Don’t Know My Story is the title God gave me in 2015. Our mission is to Empower Women one heart at a time. I pray what I’m stating does not offend anyone, but it’s my truth and story. I was a leader in the church. I was married to a leader in the church. We married about 6 months after dating. I began having second thoughts during the engagement period but ignored all of the warning signs. We married and at the beginning it was good. Not perfect but good. We sat on the front row. People loved him. He was faithful to the house and God. That was the surface. At home, it was a totally different life. However, I never told anyone about what was going on because I didn’t want them to think of him in a negative light. Well one day, things flipped. He allowed the wrong people into his ear, and his behavior towards me changed. It became emotionally, mentally and spiritually abusive to the point where I became so sick from stress, I broke out in hives all over my entire body, and it lasted for two years. I was taking at least 10 prescription pills of various kinds daily. Anyhow, during this period we sought spiritual counseling. Unbeknownst to me, he was going behind my back meeting and talking with our counselors feeding his side of the story. So they believed him. He was horrible to me but the counselors didn’t believe me. It got so bad that I attempted suicide. I didn’t want to die, just escape the pain. I felt hopeless and helpless. I came home from church one day and he was gone. No warning. I actually found out from my children. He pulled them out of church to tell the he had left me. Now, this was after we sat next to each other in church and worked the altar-he said nothing to me. I had absolutely no clue. He had moved out, got his own apartment, etc. During this time, we were still attending the same church. We were forced to sit next to each other. No one could know about us being separated. He was mean to me in church when no one was looking, but when they did put on a front. He had everyone in leadership believing that I was the problem. Rumors were being spread. Gossip and lies told, and you know what God said to me in prayer. “Don’t say one word’ Don’t answer my accusers, don’t respond to the gossip, keep my mouth closed. Even when my husband called all of my friend’s husbands to caution them about me. He instructed them to keep their wives away from me because I had a Jezebel spirit. I would not have known of this, had one of my good friends not called to tell me. I still had to keep silent. Through the rumors about my children, everything, I had to sit in church, with my head held high and keep quiet. So fast forward about 5 years later, You Don’t Know My Story was God telling me, now you can respond. But you know what, God is so all-knowing, He knew that five years later, the pain and anger would no longer be there, So I could tell my story without tearing anyone down. God stated that this platform will be used for others who were silenced to share their story. Those who have been prejudged.

Someone You Should Know: Interview with Ros Harrison- Continued from page 24 Let me tell you this, I was at the library one day studying. A member of the church I was attending tracked me down. Asked me could I come outside to talk. I was shocked. This member always had issues with me, why I did not know, but I guess I would find out this day. Well, she pulled me outside to apologize. She wanted to let me know that she didn’t like me and her reasoning was that she was jealous of my kids. She saw my children serving in church, praying, ministering in dance. Coming to church on their own, and it made her jealous because her kids were all backslidden. I almost fell over. My children were all teenagers. She had no idea what was going on in my home. My husband had just walked out on us. He left us with noting. He sold the house while we were living in it. Had my car repossessed. We had to move, no method of transportation. My kids were going through, I was trying to stay strong for them and she was jealous!!! God reminded me of this when He gave me, You Don’t Know My Story. People just don’t know. Many don’t want to know. Many “religious” people, won’t allow you to outlive your past. You Don’t Know My Story is not only an opportunity for women to share their stories, but its an opportunity for those in attendance to be encouraged knowing they are not alone. If He can do it for them, he can do it for you. Hold your head up. We are here to empower you! To strengthen you! It’s also to let others know-stop judging people by what you see, hear or think. Extend the same grace, God extended unto you. It’s about sisterhood. In the future: God is going to take You Don’t Know My Story global. I am just repeating what He has stated to me, and through various prophets. I’m not bragging, at al. I don’t know how He’s going to do it, I just have to trust and believe. LITO MAG: Name 3 things that most people don’t know about you. 1. I am a huge fan of country singer Loretta Lynn, and have been since I was 13 years old. I have watched her biography “Coal Miner’s Daughter” at least 100 times and know all of the words to the movie and songs. I even visited her ranch in Tennessee.

2.

I am extremely shy. Do not like attention, nor being in the forefront. You Don’t Know My Story is ALL GOD!

3.

I am a loner. I have driven to and from Atlanta, GA and Tennessee by myself. I go to dinner and the movies by myself.
