Happy June, BuckHaven!
JUNE 2015
M
en, men, men. Brothers, fathers, uncles, grandfathers, husbands, boyfriends, friends who are boys. Sons. I love them all. I have four brothers. Three now. We lost one to AIDS in the 90s, when so many families lost men. My brothers teased me, coddled me and ignored me. They pushed me out of their rooms when their friends came over. Then, they pulled me onto their laps and wrapped their arms around me at the end of the day. When they went away to college, I would sit on the porch steps waiting for them to pull into the driveway, running to them for a homecoming hug. During this past year, my mother’s Parkinson’s enveloped her and consumed her. My brothers, sister and I became caregivers, her tight team of guardians. We were a board of directors, working together to guide her (and each other) through months of doctor appointments, a maze of medication changes, and storms of emotions that could have easily ripped us apart. Instead, her life’s challenges brought us together. I began to see my brothers as intelligent, thoughtful, thorough and assertive men. They each filled an important role on our care team. One excelled at organizing finances and corresponding with lawyers and banks, reassuring mom that everything was taken care of. He was an absolute champion. One was a guardian angel, pulling mom out of despair and pain with the sound of his voice and confident (but never condescending) bedside visits and late-night phone conversations. One brought sweets and thoughtful photos of family, keeping her grounded with stories of grandchildren, northern Michigan and music. These men were a finely tuned trio that kept our mom humming with quiet efficiency, hard work and ever-present warmth. I now know these men will always be my team. They more than just brothers. They are men of action. And, luckily, still the best huggers on God’s green earth. This month, hug your brother, father, son, partner, champion every day.

FATHERS AND SONS In March, The Lovett School hosted the second annual Father/Son Dinner for Upper School boys and their fathers/guests. The purpose of the event was to celebrate the distinctive importance of the father/son relationship and the importance of cross generational relationships while focusing on the values of Lovett’s character pledge, including: honesty, respect, responsibility, compassion, courage and integrity. Five seniors shared personal testimony about their relationship with their fathers and the guest speaker was former NFL quarterback Archie
Manning. Manning spoke to the boys and their guests about the importance of leadership and lessons learned over a lifetime in football and as a father to three boys. His tone was conversational and welcoming. One guest described the exchange this way, “It felt as though we were sitting around the Manning dinner table swapping stories.” Manning engaged the audience, challenged the boys to lead in all aspects of their lives, and even confirmed that his son Peyton hopes to play another year in the NFL.
FORBES RANKS NORTHSIDE HOSPITAL #23
CLEAN WINNER Lifestyle Publications partnered with Presstine Cleaners to offer one lucky read-
Forbes has named Northside Hospital to its list of America’s Best Employers in a survey that polled U.S. employees across all industries. Northside Hospital ranks number 23 in the magazine’s list of 500 employers and is one of 14 Georgia employers included in the overall rankings. No other Georgia hos-
pitals were ranked, and only one in the U.S. – the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics – ranked higher than Northside. Forbes selected employers based on independent survey data from Statista.com. More than 20,000 American workers, across all industry sectors employing more than 2,500 workers, were anonymously polled. For more information, visit Careers.Northside.com.
NORTHSIDE HOSPITAL’S BREAST CANCER SCREENING AND TREATMENT With the generous support from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate and It’s The Journey, producer of the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer, Northside Hospital is able to continue to provide funding for screening mammograms and other breast diagnostic procedures such as ultrasounds, biopsies and more for women who cannot afford them. In 2014, 1,703 underinsured women received breast cancer screening and diagnostic services through the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute. Fifteen breast cancers were detected. Early detection of breast cancer saves the lives of thousands of women each year. For more information, visit Northside. com/breastcancersceening.

LEMONADE FOR KIDS WITH CANCER Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for all kids with cancer, invites volunteers across the country to take a stand against childhood cancer when Alex’s Lemonade Days returns, June 12-14. ALSF’s National Lemonade Days began in 2004 when Alex Scott set her sights on raising $1 million to fight childhood cancer, including hers. Alex invited volunteers to join her in hosting lemonade stands to help achieve her goal one dollar and one lemonade stand at a time. Through the help of these volunteers, Alex would reach her goal before losing her life to cancer in August of that year. Each June, the weekend before Father’s Day, supporters everywhere contribute to a cure. The Foundation was built upon the principle that you are never too young to make a difference in the lives of others. For more information and to sign up to host a lemonade stand, visit AlexsLemonade.org/LemonadeDays.

Years of visioning and planning between the North Buckhead neighborhood and Park Pride culminated with the Groundbreaking Ceremony held at Mountain Way Common. After hundreds of volunteer hours and clean up efforts, smiles could be seen on the faces of elected officials, neighborhood volunteers, and the generous contributors who eagerly await construction of the pedestrian bridge providing access to the park’s interior. Livable Buckhead, Inc. and the Georgia Department of Transportation reached agreements allowing the site, almost entirely on GA400 right-of-way, to become a neighborhood park and eventual trailhead for the PATH400 trail. With the acquisition of a key one-acre privately held parcel, the City’s Parks and Recreation Department along with Councilmember Howard Shook extended Mountain Way Common on both sides of Little Nancy Creek to North Ivy Road, resulting in a 9-plus acre green space. The contract to construct a pedestrian bridge over Little Nancy Creek and to its connecting boardwalks was signed last month with site work slated to begin in within days. The bridge’s installation is scheduled for completion in mid-July.From left to right: Denise Starling (Executive Director, Livable Buckhead, Inc.), Howard Shook (Atlanta City Council, District 7), Gordon Certain (President, North Buckhead Civic Association), and Allison Barnett (Associate Director, Park Pride).

Hang It Up A MAN’S GUIDE TO CLOSETS AND CARING FOR CLOTHES ARTICLE RUKSANA HUSSAIN | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

ove over fashionistas! Men are taking over this issue and one space where they shouldn’t cut corners is their closet. Men who care about what they wear and how they wear it (no wrinkles, please!), can treat themselves to a closet where there’s a place for everything, and put everything in its place. “One popular request from my male clients is for belt and tie storage,” says Stephanie Parmer who owns Closets By Design of Atlanta with her husband Steve. “We offer many solutions for such storage need’s to include a drawer with a plexi-glass divider which provides great storage and a visual display.” In business since 2000, the company specializes in organization solutions for every space of the home including closets, home office, pantry, garage, craft rooms and entertainment units. “The latest in masculine closet design is a new line called the Brio Collection featuring a high quality “textured” product. It is a sleek modern look that is becoming a must- have in Atlanta.” In her experience, Stephanie points out shoe storage is a necessity in the closet space. “Some gentlemen like simple functional storage and others display their shoes. Another great idea is storage for watches and we have what we call a valet, which is a space for watches, wallet and pens in the top drawer. Our systems are custom designed specifically for their clothing. He can have sports coats in a longer section, belts in
18

racks that are displayed well, pants on pull out racks and the list is endless.” According to Stephanie, the industry standard material to build closets is an engineered wood product called Melamine. “It is dimensionally stable so when the product is cut and assembled it all fits correctly,” she adds. Closets can be custom designed to the man’s needs and space, after an inventory and discussion with the homeowner. “We do very little cutting on the client site, everything is pre-cut and assembled on location,” says Stephanie. Her client Tony Sostillio had his closet redone recently. “Tony’s new closet has drawers and doors for personal items, single and double hanging sections, and storage for shoes. His taste is more transitional so he asked for flat faced drawer fronts, modern trim package and the textured melamine.” Irrespective of how clothes are stored though, seasonal care is another top consideration for men who like to look good. “After winter, it is important to take care of sweaters, cashmere and wool as they may develop moisture holes,” says Young Lim, owner of Presstine Cleaners in Buckhead. “Use mothballs in your closet especially in in the summer. Ask your cleaners for the blue moisture bags that can be sealed and protect the garment from moisture.

Also, suede and leather are difficult materials to work with and must always be sent out to a specialist.” Suits with special features like additional embroidery or trim must be rinsed by hand and given special care. Garments must be turned inside out and have all buttons and other details covered before they are serviced. Originally from South Korea, Lim manages this family business among several others he owns in the city. Though he has lots of competition in the area, he is the oldest dry cleaner around, calling his current location home for the past 15 years, having served Buckhead for more than 50 years. On average, he sees 150-200 customers daily and his staff visits 80 houses for the free pick up and delivery services. When it comes to caring for the city’s finest, he has many pointers to share. “Mustard stains are the hardest to remove so take them straight to the dry cleaners, don’t try removing on your own,” he cautions. “Another problem is the stain ring around the collar, which is from oil produced in the neck area causing discoloration. For every 3-4 times you have that shirt laundered, make sure there is one visit to the dry cleaners,” he adds. Presstine offers free pick up and set delivery, custom hangers, two levels of care for laundered shirts, and monthly billing. They use the latest in barcode technology so you will not see that annoying safety-pinned paper coupon on your clean clothing. Keep it simple, clean and organized and your clothes will last longer.

What the Roof is Going On? HOW TO HIRE THE TOP ROOFER FOR YOUR JOB ARTICLE SUE G. COLLINS
A
tlanta is home to a wide range of weather conditions. The city sees its share of regular thunderstorms in the spring and summer. In addition, Atlanta is not immune to freezing rain and ice storms seen by the Midwest and northeastern states during winter months. The weather shifts may result in damaged or detached shingles which can cause moisture to infiltrate your roof. Other factors play a role in roof damage as well. “These issues can include the natural process of long term deterioration of materials, vents, and seals,” the experts at KTM Roofing tell us. “Most general house-builders aren’t detail oriented like a professional roofer may be because builders have so many other elements they’re dealing with while building a house,” says Tim McLoughlin of KTM Roofing. Here’s why that’s a problem: improper installation of roof components like shingles, flashing, gutters, and gutter guards can actually cause immediate damage. Combine constant exposure to the elements, natural disintegration of materials over time with sloppy installation techniques, and you’ll have problems. Here, Tim dispels a few misconceptions of hiring a good roofer and offers up advice on getting the job done right. PNL: Is it true that if the Better Business Bureau does not have any complaints against the contractor, he must be qualified? TM: Checking with the BBB is a great place to start, but ask for customer testimonials, referrals from friends and neighbors and check Kudzu and other social media reviews. Be sure the references the roofer provides are for jobs completed within the past six months. Ask what percentage of business comes from referrals. PNL: Choosing the contractor who offers the lowest price saves you money. Is this true? TM: Not always! What’s being left out or what shortcuts have been made? Get the contractor to itemize the initial bid, so you’re not stuck with change orders. Be sure the quote includes ALL materials. It will help for you to develop a basic idea of what you want and need. When considering the scope of your project, create a prioritized list divided into three “wish/need” categories: Category 1 items must be part of the project at all costs, if the project is going to meet your needs. “Category 2” items should be included if the final design and/or budget permits. “Category 3” items would be extras, wishes, but not items necessary to complete the project. By making this list and sharing it with your contractor, you can give him a crystal clear idea of the scope of your project, so you’ll both be on the same page. PNL: If a person claims to have many years experience, they must to quality work. Is this the best testimonial to consider? TM: Take experience with a grain of salt, because 20 years can create a lot of bad habits. It’s more important to check the compa-

ny’s credentials. Are they registered with the Georgia Secretary of State and for how long have they been in business? Look for stable roofing companies that have been around since before 2008 (when the market turned and many construction companies turned into “roofing” companies). In this state, there is no specific industry license for roofers. So, also do a corporation search on the web at SOS.Georgia.Gov. Be sure the contractor carries current comprehensive liability insurance specifically for roofing installation as well as coverage for workers’ compensation. You can call the roofer’s insurance company and check the company name on the insurance certificate is exactly the name shown on the roofer’s proposal and make sure it covers the company for roofers (not just the less expensive insurance issued for general contracting or other construction services). DO be honest with the contractor when discussing the price of the project. Your budget is very important piece of the entire project. Provide a realistic budget. DO confirm the contractor will pull all the required building permits. Many homeowners’ insurance policies require pulling a permit on any major home remodeling work to keep the home properly covered. Don’t let the contractor tell you that he needs YOU to get permits. This may be a warning sign they are not licensed (or worse, LAZY!). DO ask for a printed, transferrable certificate of warranty, explaining the workmanship after the project is completed. A typical warranty is for five years or longer. DO confirm the roofer is easy to reach. Get his cell number and check that it’s not an endless answering machine or unmanned office. DO think twice about companies who ask you to make a down payment. Generally payment is due upon invoice or completion of the project. Don’t pay for work that hasn’t been done. That’s a contractor who is confident in his work!

ARTICLE LINDSAY CORLEY | PHOTOGRAPHY SCOTT AREMAN AND COURTESY OF VAN MICHAEL SALON
I
n 1984, two brothers from Cartersville, Georgia, accepted a $30,000 loan from their parents to open a hair salon in Atlanta. The brothers, Van and Michael Council, picked an 800-square-foot “fixer-upper” in the growing Buckhead area to open their doors and thus Van Michael Salon was born. A little over three decades later, the flagship location is now a mammoth fixture in the heart of Buckhead, and is joined by six additional salons spread throughout the Atlanta area. During their 30th anniversary celebration last year, Van Michael Salon also celebrated the opening of two new locations in Midtown Atlanta and at Avalon, Alpharetta’s newly opened, high-end retail destination. In addition to the seven Atlanta salons, Van Michael also has a corporate headquarters based in Sandy Springs and more than 36 Tokyo franchises. With no formal business education, it is hard to imagine how the pair would build Van Michael Salon into one of the most successful salons in the country, but that is why their story of humble beginnings and sheer talent is truly inspiring. Van Michael Salon’s story really began the first time that Van, who was mowing lawns and shoveling asphalt for money at the time, sat down to watch the 1975 film, “Shampoo.” In the movie, Warren Beatty’s character worked inside an air-conditioned salon, cutting the hair of beautiful women all day, which gave Van an idea. A decade later, Van and his younger brother Michael had immersed themselves in cosmetology coursework, training under some of the greats like Vidal Sassoon, and were armed with extensive experience to launch their own salon. It is the importance placed on this type of core education and training that has allowed Van Michael Salon to continue to grow in the Atlanta community and within the industry. Since opening, the salon has grown from just five stylists to a team of more than 370 Atlanta-based employees. To keep up their high standards of service, Van and Michael developed the now trademarked New Talents division that requires up to two years of classes and continuing education to earn a coveted chair as a Van Michael Salon stylist. The Councils believe this commitment to continued education is why their skills and services are well known worldwide, and note that the salon leadership does not exempt themselves from on-going training. Though his current role only allows him to see a small number of clients, Van is at the helm of the day-to-day direction of the salon and is a celebrated educator in the industry. Recently, Van was tapped by the prestigious industry organization Intercoiffure America/Canada (ICA) as their new fashion director. In this role, he will lead a team of his peers in determining upcoming hair and beauty trends that will be provided to CONTINUED >

THE BROTHERS BEHIND (CONTINUED)
“We are so proud of the roots we came from and Atlanta community we’ve called our home for more than 30 years. From the beginning it was our goal to create a world-class salon and it is the support and loyalty of this community that has allowed us to do just that.” fashion editors and salon teams each season. His many accolades over the years include 4-time recognition from the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), often referred to as the ‘Oscars of the hair industry,’ and prestigious membership in Aveda Global Masters Team. In the Sandy Springs salon, Michael keeps his skills sharp working with clients two days a week on the salon floor. He is also a well-respected figure in the industry, receiving a Lifetime Achievement

n the spirit of our magazine’s continuous pursuit of generosity, we asked Van and Michael about their community. Where they give: Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (for conservation of the primary drinking water source for more than 4 million Georgians), the Pink Heals Foundation (to help young cancer survivors regain confidence through programming after the completion of treatment), The Drake House (providing short-term crisis housing, support, education and empowerment to homeless mothers and their children). Van is a sponsor with Southern Off-road Bicycle Association, the Georgia
Award from the Art & Fashion Group and a spot on Modern Salon’s esteemed list of the Top Educators of the Century. Led by Van, the salon’s all-star educators and service providers pulled from all seven salons form the salon’s Creative Team. Together they teach and hone, and in many cases develop, the newest techniques, products and trends on the salon floor and at industry events. The creative team won NAHA’s “Best Salon Team” Award in 2014 and is called upon multiple times a year to High School Mountain Bike League and Cycle Youth. Michael supports a variety of other community organizations including St. Jude’s and Susan G Komen. Why they give: Van and Michael have long recognized the importance of philanthropy and community engagement. The missions of their annual partnerships align with the goals of the salon, which include Earth conservation and empowering women. Van is an avid mountain biker and believes in what exercise and discipline can do for a person and more specifically, young people.

perform and teach at various summits for the global beauty brand, Aveda. Today, more than 100,000 Atlantans count on Van Michael Salons for their hair and beauty needs. The co-founders are the first to recognize that the success of the salon can be attributed to the loyal clientele and employees who have been there from the beginning. “We are so proud of the roots we came from and Atlanta community we’ve called our home for more than 30 years. From the beginning it was our goal to create a world-class salon and it is the support and loyalty of this community that has allowed us to do just that,” says co-founder Van Council. “Countless hairstyles and fashions have come and gone since 1984, but our clients have continued to trust us to be on the forefront of the industry and the best at what we do. To say that we continue to have their trust and loyalty to this day is certainly one of our greatest accomplishments.”

enoarchaeology is the study of vanished off world, science fiction cultures through the artifacts they leave behind. Rob Maxam is an authority. Maxam, the successful vice president of sales for Sub Zero and Wolf Luxury Appliances for the Southeast. For more than 20 years, Maxam has been equipping the homes of celebrities, athletes and the aff luent with what he terms the "Ferraris of kitchen appliances.” After hours however, Rob spends time with wife Donna and their kids Jake, Madisen and Mackenzie—and entertains his guiltless obsession collecting paraphernalia associated with the greatest science fiction series in film, Star Wars. During a tour of his “man cave” in his spacious home in Alpharetta, Rob provided humorous commentary on how his home office walls became adorned with hundreds of figures, statues, authentic helmets, posters, weapons and even clocks themed from George Lucas' ingenious cinematic creations. How Rob’s collection was launched: “It all started after a conversation I had with a friend and how we both agreed that Star Wars was the best movie ever created. The next day he gave me a box that had some brand new Star Wars figures inside. I couldn’t believe they still were making these toys even though the movie had ended a decade earlier. The next day I went to the local Wal-Mart and Toys-R-Us and discovered a whole section dedicated to the movie, so I bought a couple pieces, and then the next week, and so on.” Where Rob shops: “I went online and discovered that you could go to conventions all over the country like Comic-Con, Dragon Con, International Toy and the FX [Vintage Toy] Show. These shows are where serious collectors and fans go to meet the actual actors from the original movie and trade with other collectors from around the world. This is where I found the original figures still in mint condition; a whole new world of expense was introduced into my world. I travel to these shows periodically and add
Collector, Rob Maxam, and his kingdom
all types of figures and props to my collection. I also have bought display fixtures from stores that go out of business that can house the figures in a museum-like setting.” Rob on his favorite items from his collection: “My favorite pieces are the bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back. Boba Fett is the baddest bounty hunter in the galaxy and very sought after by collectors.” Rob on how much he has invested in his collection: “I basically know how much money I have spent but for the sake of keeping my marriage intact, I have declined to tell anyone. Some people have a 401K plan, I have plastic action figures.” Rob’s favorite Star Wars episode: “My favorite episode is the original movie from 1977, A New Hope. I was 13 at the time of the original release and the first time I saw Darth Vader walk into the scene, I was hooked. My younger brother was also hooked and we bought tremendous amounts of the toy figures as kids. We look back now and cry at how many of those figures we blew up with firecrackers or shot with our BB guns. Now I spend thousands for what I used to pay a couple dollars for. What Rob has planned for the future: “My future plans are to convert the rest of the basement into the ultimate Star Wars man cave. I am going to make a poker table that will have Han Solo in carbonite as the playing surface, convert the home theater area into the Death Star control room, and light all the areas with different colored light sabers. Once my wife reads this, I will be living in the basement anyways. “As for the collection, I plan to continue focusing on completing the original released figures from the first three movies and to continue purchasing artwork that can be displayed throughout the man cave.”

hen the all-new Nissan Juke hit the streets back in 2010, its rave reviews for both this 5-door hatchback’s sporty, street-terrorizing performance, and curvy, revolutionary exterior compared to other run-of-the-mill hatchbacks confirmed it was here to stay. Now coming in three different trims depending on the Clydesdales under the hood and physical enhancements—the Juke, Juke NISMO and Juke NISMO RS (excluding the steroidal GT-R–powered Juke-R)—we were blessed with the latter RS dressed in Brilliant Silver exterior to review. Thankfully, the aggressive 1.6 turbocharged engine spanking 216 horses; six-speed manual (Yes!); top speed of 135 mph; NISMO RS performance exhaust; sport-tuned suspension; Alcantara and leather-wrapped steering wheel; ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System); VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control); TCS (Traction Con-

trol System); EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution); and other performance-enhancing amenities justified its looks rivaling anything leaving skid marks in a Fast and Furious film. The eye-popping design complete with 18-inch alloy wheels; front grille; rear spoiler; chrome exhaust; LED daytime running lights; welcomed demonic red accenting the entire interior including the dash and slick, body hugging Recaro® driver front passenger seats; and overall physique that would make a bodybuilder jealous, made the RS a must for anyone demanding an adventurous drive many exotic cars deliver for a fraction of the price ($28,020). And don’t let its shell mimicking a two-door sports car fool you. The back doors’ handles are elevated and camouflaged into the frame, but our 6’-8” front passenger still fit comfortably, so the interior is still accommodating to virtually anyone.
Considering all of the power and racing features the Juke NISMO RS boasts, gas mileage still graciously remains a non-concern with numbers averaging 27 miles to the gallon (25 city/31 highway). While we favor the manual transmission for the true sports feel, automatic is also available so that all bases are covered. The standout features on the technology side include the Around View® Monitor with moving object detection; push button ignition; hands-free texting assistant; a 5.8inch color monitor; Bluetooth capabilities; a booming Rockford Fosgate® ecoPunch™ premium sound system; and the signature NissanConnect™ with navigation and mobile apps add to the RS’ value. Ultimately, this 2015 Juke NISMO RS effortless paddles against the mainstream with the impressive numbers in every category to prove it. For more information, visit NissanUSA.com

Parting Thoughts
Meet Dennis Milton Byron WORDS DENNIS MALCOLM BYRON
G
reetings everyone. My name is Dennis Malcolm Byron and have been fortunate to contribute to Lifestyle Publications for more than two years covering automobiles, travel, interesting people, shooting covers, and every so often disclosing the wonders of beer under my alias Ale Sharpton. When I happened to invite my father, Dennis Milton Byron, to one of our magazine’s celebratory functions, the staff really gravitated towards him—especially editor, Sue Collins and publisher, Jim Newman. For this June issue, they asked if I could share a few words about him. This was a no-brainer and I was happy to oblige. My father—a son of Jamaican descendants who set up shop literally in the Bronx, New York, (they had the Byron Catering Company)—was raised with the value of family, hard work, honesty and giving. Throughout the years, he applied these attributes to everything he did, resulting in attending four colleges including the University of Albuquerque, Syracuse, Ithaca College and Cornell University, taking courses that would prepare him for a successful career in philanthropy, consulting and fundraising (which he popularly terms “friendraising”). To flourish in this business, he had to make strong contacts, meet amazing people, travel extensively, and exude his vibrant personality, while most importantly providing his family the best experiences he could afford alongside his late wife and the best mother on earth, Brenda. Because of my parents, my three siblings Rashad, Lamont, Simone and I got to see so much of the world. I am the oldest of the quartet, so let’s just say, a handful early on. I received the most discipline and in many ways, the most attention. I even-
tually utilized these experiences in seeing the struggles my father endured, having lived in extremely modest accommodations to large homes in some of the finest Dennis Milton Byron neighborhoods. I also learned success comes from practicing the simple things in life, from always shaking hands with a tight grip to being yourself, learning to speak up, treating everyone as an equal, accepting adversity and dealing with it, and simply loving life. This led me to follow in his footsteps, attending Cornell University, networking, and hitting the ground running, developing the courage to explore what I am passionate about. I owe so much of my drive, charisma and business mind to my father. And I am proud to have the same name (although we can be “Menaces” when we want to). A trip to Thailand as a graduation present was our most bonding moment, and since then, I became more open to whatever came my way. Ultimately, I thank God for him. I want to thank the great people of BuckHaven and Perimeter North Lifestyle magazine, including Sue and Jim for providing me the opportunity to share this with you. I ask that if you have the chance, you give your father a hug for everything he has done for you. I will do the same, along with a firm grip that made me the man I am today.
