Investing In Time
In a world that moves at an ever-accelerating pace, true luxury isn’t found in things but in time. Time with family, time invested in ourselves, and time spent in places that enrich our lives. The saying goes, "The days are long, but the years are short." What we choose to do with those days defines our present and the legacy we leave behind.
Investment is often thought of in financial terms—stocks, dividends, heirloom jewelry, or real estate that appreciates over generations. However, the most significant investments cannot be measured in numbers: the wisdom we acquire, the knowledge we pass down, and the health that sustains us. Canton, Georgia, offers an unparalleled blend of heritage and modern luxury, where time slows just enough to savor the things that truly matter. Whether gathering around the table with loved ones, prioritizing wellness, or curating a lifestyle that reflects personal success, the ultimate luxury is how we spend our time.
Yet, in an age of constant digital distraction, time often slips through our fingers with just a swipe. Hours spent scrolling social media or binging the latest series can seem harmless, but over time, they take a toll—on productivity, relationships, and mental well-being. Imagine if those hours were reinvested in meaningful conversations, personal growth, or quiet reflection. What would our lives look like if we became more intentional about where we place our attention?
True luxury is not found in excess but in the richness of experience. It’s in investing time with loved ones, pursuing wisdom and creativity, and the small rituals that bring joy—whether it’s an evening walk, a beautifully set dinner table, or a book that expands the mind. Just as we invest in financial wealth, investing in time well spent pays dividends in ways money never can. It strengthens relationships, fuels passion, and creates a sense of fulfillment that no endless scrolling ever will.
This issue celebrates those choices—the intentional moments, the spaces that inspire connection, and the investments that matter. Whether you’re dedicating time to family, prioritizing health, or building a legacy through knowledge and experience, we invite you to reclaim your time. Because, at the end of the day, it’s not about how much time we have—it’s about how we choose to use it.
May this issue inspire you to invest wisely—not just in wealth, but in well-being, wisdom, and the moments that make life truly extraordinary.

MESMERIZING PARADISE
The Galápagos Islands: Investing In Memories
Traveling is more than just visiting new places—it’s an investment in memories that last a lifetime. Each journey enriches our lives with experiences, cultures, and connections that shape us. Unlike material possessions, these moments don’t break or fade but grow in value over time, bringing joy and wisdom to every traveler.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I received the invitation to explore The Galápagos Islands on Ecoventura’s luxury expedition private yacht, Theory. One of the world’s most remote and exclusive travel destinations, the archipelago, located 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, has captivated explorers for centuries, inspiring Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. Home to countless species of endemic flora and fauna, this voyage was to be the adventure of a lifetime, offering a world-class Relais & Châteaux experience while investing in the rich ecological history of our planet.
Perfect for the luxury traveler, Ecoventura’s environmentally sound and socially responsible approach to ecotourism is a hallmark of the adventure, focusing on sustainable travel and conservation. Ecotourism is an investment in both personal growth and our planet’s future. By choosing sustainable travel, we support conservation efforts, protect natural habitats, and empower local communities.
The world-class, bespoke service onboard is nothing short of amazing. Theory is truly a floating hotel, with every imaginable amenity. Investing in a luxury yacht trip to the Galápagos offers an unparalleled experience, combining exquisite comfort with breathtaking scenery.
Guests onboard Theory can explore remote islands, encounter unique wildlife, and enjoy fine dining while sailing from one destination to another. Walls of windows, impeccably appointed staterooms, welcoming guest lounges, a rooftop sundeck, library, and gourmet dining elevate the experience beyond expectation. The gracious staff enhances the guest experience at every turn. From gourmet meals and fine service to hot chocolate after a snorkeling adventure, Theory excels at creating forever memories. It is the seamless blend of hospitality and adventure that makes Ecoventura exceptional. Their itineraries allow guests to explore the unique wildlife and stunning landscapes of the Galápagos while preserving the islands for future generations.
Kicker Rock, Galapagos
Floreana’s Post Office, established in 1793 by Captain James Colnett, is a unique mail system where visitors leave letters in a wooden barrel for travelers to hand-deliver, sometimes taking years to reach their destination. This centuries old tradition embodies
the spirit of hope and adventure fostering camaraderie among visitors and future travelers, making it a charming stop on any Galapagos itinerary.
Each day of this journey is filled with thoughtfully curated expeditions, guided by skilled naturalists, offering opportunities to interact with creatures that seem to defy imagination. Daily zodiac rides reveal some of the best snorkeling and ocean kayaking in the world while providing access to otherworldly island landscapes. Whether walking across barren volcanic hills, hiking seaside cliffs, or strolling vibrant, pristine beaches, each sojourn brings travelers face-to-face with spectacular wildlife.
On Floreana and San Cristóbal islands, we walked in the footprints left by Darwin’s expedition in 1835. Marine and land iguanas, giant tortoises, green sea turtles, flamingos, and the famously curious Galápagos sea lions greeted us at every turn.
Each hike during the seven-day voyage not only showcased the unique island environments but also provided insight into life on the islands.
The waters surrounding the Galápagos teem with color and an endless array of marine life. Yellowtail surgeonfish, King Angelfish, Black-nosed Butterflyfish, and even the occasional shark joined us on snorkeling adventures. Sea turtles, luminescent starfish, dolphins, whales, octopuses, and sea lions filled the ocean currents. Near Pinnacle Rock on Bartolomé, we were lucky to spot the rarest penguin species in the world.
Above us, the skies hosted a flurry of activity. The Waved albatross, Galápagos hawks, Magnificent frigatebirds, Lava gulls, and the iconic Blue-footed Boobies embraced us wherever we went. The Galápagos Islands are a birdwatcher’s paradise. Observing these fascinating birds in their natural habitat was unforgettable.
A luxury yacht trip to the Galápagos offers an unparalleled experience, combining exquisite comfort with breathtaking scenery. Exploring these remote islands fosters a greater appreciation for conservation, as the Galápagos serve as a living laboratory of evolution and ecological balance.
Solo adventure, a family trip, or an exploration of history and ecological riches; travel broadens perspectives and deepens appreciation for the world. A journey to the Galápagos is truly an investment in knowledge, nature, and the wonder of exploration.

HOW GEORGIA IMPACT AND CHEROKEE YOUTH FOUNDATION INVEST IN LIVES
A Legacy of Community
ARTICLE BY ALLIE HAMILTON | PHOTOGRAPHY BY IVAN FELIPE
“The coaches & staff continue to support and invest in my journey.” – Gabriella Etienne.
On any evening, the Harmon Park mini-pitch echoes with young athletes chasing their dreams—cleats scuffing the turf, the rhythmic thump of a soccer ball, and the cheers of coaches who believe in more than just the game. For Georgia Impact, soccer isn’t just a sport; it’s a catalyst for change, a force that shapes young leaders and strengthens the entire Canton & Cherokee County community.
With a history spanning over 50 years, Georgia Impact—formerly known as the Cherokee Soccer Association—has grown into more than a competitive club. Today, the organization serves over 4,200 players and is supported by 147 dedicated staff members, including referees and coaches, all focused on shaping young lives on and off the field.
However, Georgia Impact and its nonprofit arm, Cherokee Youth Foundation, recognize that investing in youth is much more than teaching soccer skills. Partnering in programs like Strive for 23 ensures that high school students stay on track to graduate, integrating soccer into their academic success. Scholarships ensure no child is left behind due to financial constraints, while mentorship initiatives cultivate responsibility, teamwork, and leadership skills that last a lifetime.
BEYOND THE GAME: BUILDING A STRONGER CHEROKEE COUNTY
For Georgia Impact, legacy isn’t just measured in wins—it’s measured in lives changed. As facilitators of the Cherokee Collective Gathering, held every third Thursday in Canton, local nonprofits unite to mobilize support for families in need quickly. Whether it’s educational resources, mentorship programs, or emergency financial aid, the goal is simple: ensure that the community and its young athletes thrive together.
The club’s commitment to community partnerships extends beyond soccer. One of its most significant collaborations has been with Atlanta United and the Arthur Blank Foundation, leading to the development of a $4.3 million revitalization project at Harmon Park.
Originally planned as a small mini-pitch, this project transformed into a state-of-the-art facility where hundreds of kids gather weekly to learn, grow, and develop their love for the game.
"We’ve always believed that our mission extends beyond soccer," says Executive Director of Georgia Impact, Shane Moore. “We invest in young people, families, and a stronger, more connected community.”
INVESTING IN THE FUTURE THROUGH SOCCER
Georgia Impact is committed to creating pathways for young athletes, ensuring that their journey in soccer translates into opportunities beyond the field. The club's investment in development programs and college networking has led to players receiving fullride scholarships, with many moving on to Division I and Division II programs.
“Our job is to provide as many opportunities as possible,” says Robert Roddie, Director of Operations. “If we can help a kid graduate, get into college, or even play professionally, then we’ve done our job. But it’s not just about soccer—it’s about creating good people prepared for life beyond the sport.”
One example is Gabriella Etienne, a former Impact player who transitioned into coaching, refereeing, and mentoring. “Since joining the club, I have encountered so many people who continue to support and invest in my journey, whether as a player, referee, coach, or intern,” she shares.
The character-building element of Georgia Impact's coaching philosophy is crucial. Coaches undergo pre-season and post-season evaluations, not just on soccer techniques but also on their ability to mentor and develop life skills in their players. This approach ensures that Georgia Impact players grow into wellrounded individuals equipped for success.
A NEW ERA: BRINGING PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S SOCCER TO GEORGIA
Georgia Impact’s next bold move is launching a professional women’s soccer team, which will
The larger we grow, the more opportunities we can provide for the community.
– Robert Roddie “ ”
provide a critical pathway for female athletes beyond college. Competing in a Tier 3 national league, the team will travel nationwide, bringing elite-level competition to Georgia and offering new opportunities for young women to pursue professional careers in soccer.
This expansion is a dream realized for players who have grown up in Georgia Impact’s system, whether UPSL, WPSL, or college placement. “The fact that we can bring professional women’s soccer to Georgia is huge,” says Moore. “It’s about showing young athletes that they have a future in this sport and giving them the platform to pursue their dreams.”
The league, with 15 teams spanning the country, is set to bring higher competition to Georgia’s soccer scene.
With plans to expand to 16 teams soon, Georgia Impact plays a key role in growing opportunities for female athletes.
“This investment ensures that players who start in recreational leagues can progress through the ranks—from elite club teams to college scholarships, and now, to professional soccer,” says Roddie. “The larger we grow, the more opportunities we can provide for the community.”
The women’s professional team will play nationally, competing against teams from Texas to California, bringing high-caliber soccer closer to home. While the club is still finalizing a permanent home field, the goal remains: to create a professional environment that nurtures talent and provides a stepping stone for future generations.
EXPANDING IMPACT: MORE THAN JUST SOCCER
Beyond soccer, Georgia Impact and Cherokee Youth Foundation are dedicated to supporting the broader Cherokee County community. Through initiatives like the Cherokee Collective Gathering, the club has provided critical aid to families, addressing educational gaps, emergency financial needs, and community mentorship.
“We started the Cherokee Youth Foundation because we saw needs that extended far beyond soccer,” explains Kim Bishop, Director of Community Outreach. “We were already involved in helping families, supporting schools, and building character. The Foundation allowed us to expand that reach.”
Through partnerships with local schools, Strive for 23, and after-school programs, Georgia Impact provides a structured, supportive environment for young people who need it most. Many of these programs do not cost parents anything, ensuring accessibility for all families regardless of financial background.
LEAVING A LASTING LEGACY
The club’s influence stretches far beyond the field. Every year, dozens of players secure college scholarships, and hundreds more benefit from mentorship programs, character-building initiatives, and community outreach supported and sponsored by
community partners like Buffalo's Cafe and Northside Hospital Cherokee.
One of the most impactful programs, Strive for 23, was developed in collaboration with Cherokee High School. The initiative encourages students to earn the 23 credits required to graduate by integrating soccer as a motivational tool. The program has been a remarkable success, helping students stay in school, develop discipline, and achieve their academic goals.
“Strive for 23 is more than a program—it’s a lifeline for many students,” says Roddie. “It provides accountability, structure, and encouragement to kids who need that extra push.”
From players who rise through the ranks of Georgia Impact to those who transition into coaching, refereeing, or community leadership, the club's commitment to developing well-rounded individuals is evident.
As Georgia Impact continues to grow, it remains rooted in one simple truth:
Investing in youth is investing in the future.

Investing in Timeless Luxury
ARTICLE BY CHARLOTTE ROBBIE
PHOTOGRAPHY BY JIM HUGHES
Luxury is more than just aesthetics— it’s about legacy, craftsmanship, and lasting value. Few understand this better than Cherokee County’s Jim Hughes, co-founder of Heise & Hughes Fine Jewelry. Jim partners with Berlinbased Ronnie Heise, whose decades of experience in fine jewelry and luxury watches bring unparalleled expertise to H&H Fine Jewelry. With exclusive North American rights to Askania watches and direct access to master jewelers and diamond dealers, H&H Fine Jewelry stands out through quality, exclusivity, and heritage. In this exclusive Q&A, Jim shares his expertise on fine jewelry as an investment, shifting luxury trends, and how craftsmanship ensures high-end purchases become lasting assets—more than just luxury, but timeless heirlooms.
LUXURY WATCHES, FINE JEWELRY AND CRAFTSMANSHIP AT HEISE & HUGHES
“TRUE LUXURY IS MORE THAN STYLE—IT’S AN INVESTMENT IN HISTORY, CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND TIMELESS VALUE.”
– JIM HUGHES
Q: HOW DID YOU BECOME INSPIRED TO CREATE H&H FINE JEWELRY?
A: Ronnie and I first met in 1993 while I served in the US Army in the Berlin Brigade. We lost touch for 27 years. When we reconnected, Ronnie had a credible diamond and jewelry business foundation from first-hand mining in Sierra Leone, sourcing some of the world's finest gemstones. He had extensive experience, from cutting and polishing rough stones to designing exquisite, high-end pieces. Seeing his expertise, I encouraged him to expand into the North American market, leveraging his full capabilities. That started H&H Fine Jewelry, a brand rooted in craftsmanship, precision, and luxury. Our mission is to create timeless pieces with sentimental and financial value.
Q: WHAT SETS YOUR JEWELRY AND WATCHES APART AS INVESTMENTS RATHER THAN JUST LUXURY PURCHASES?
A: Gold and diamonds have always been assets that retain and grow in value. Gold, a rare earth mineral, has seen consistent price appreciation, making it a safe long-term investment. Similarly, high-quality diamonds appreciate over time due to their rarity and demand. Unlike mass-produced jewelry that may depreciate, our pieces are crafted with the finest materials and attention to detail, ensuring lasting value. The exclusivity and craftsmanship of our watches and jewelry make them not just purchases, but investments that can be passed down for generations.
Q: WHAT TRENDS ARE YOU SEEING IN LUXURY JEWELRY AND WATCHES?
A: We are seeing a rise in demand for one-of-a-kind, highly crafted pieces. Consumers want unique designs that tell a story, rather than just a brand name. Our collections range from lifestyle and entertainment-inspired pieces to highend, athletic designs, ensuring that each item is meaningful and valuable. Additionally, heritage and craftsmanship drive purchasing decisions, making quality and exclusivity more critical than ever.
Luxury as an Investment:
KEY CONSIDERATIONS
Investing in fine jewelry and luxury watches goes beyond mere aesthetics—it’s about securing assets that grow in value. Whether you are looking to purchase a piece for its beauty or its financial potential, here are key factors to consider:
1. Material Matters: Opt for real gold and high-quality diamonds. These natural resources retain and often appreciate in value over time, making them a reliable investment. 2. Brand Prestige: Established brands with a legacy of craftsmanship tend to hold their value better than mass-produced alternatives. 3. Limited Availability: The rarer the piece, the more desirable it becomes in the resale market. Exclusive, one-of-a-kind designs tend to appreciate faster. 4. Handcrafted Excellence: Massproduced items lack the exclusivity and meticulous craftsmanship of hand-assembled, high-precision pieces. Attention to detail increases both longevity and market value. 5. Historical Relevance: Watches and jewelry tied to significant historical moments or crafted by renowned designers tend to see higher appreciation rates.
For those looking to invest wisely, fine jewelry and luxury watches offer not just status but a tangible, lasting financial asset that stands the test of time.
Q: WHAT MAKES ASKANIA WATCHES UNIQUE, AND WHY DID YOU SECURE EXCLUSIVE NORTH AMERICAN RIGHTS?
A: Askania has a deep history rooted in German precision and innovation. Founded in 1871, the brand has been a leader in precision instruments, aviation, and maritime technology. Our watches are hand-assembled in Berlin, featuring Swiss automatic movements, sapphire crystals, and premium leather. Each model carries a story—from the Bremen, named after the first aircraft to make a transatlantic flight, to the Templehof, inspired by Berlin’s first major airport. Unlike mass-produced watches, Askania timepieces are crafted in small batches, maintaining their exclusivity and value as collector’s items.
Q: ARE YOU PLANNING TO OPEN A STOREFRONT, OR WILL YOUR BRAND REMAIN EXCLUSIVE?
A: For now, H&H Fine Jewelry operates through private and public events, ensuring exclusivity. We focus on curated, high-end experiences where clients can see and feel the craftsmanship of our pieces in a personalized setting. This model allows us to maintain a direct relationship with collectors and investors, ensuring they understand the legacy and quality behind each purchase. Rather than mass-market sales, we are committed to limiting our offerings, enhancing their long-term investment potential.
Q: WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE LOOKING TO INVEST IN FINE JEWELRY OR WATCHES?
A: Always consider the material and craftsmanship. Gold and high-quality diamonds are the safest bets for appreciation, as their value remains steady. Avoid synthetic stones, as they hold no resale value. Investing in brands with a proven history, like Askania, which carries legacy and exclusivity, is also essential. Additionally, rare, limited-edition pieces from reputable brands often see the highest appreciation in value, making them a smart choice for collectors.
Q: HOW DOES STORYTELLING ENHANCE THE VALUE OF YOUR WATCHES AND JEWELRY?
A: A timepiece or a piece of fine jewelry is more than just an accessory—it’s a story waiting to be told. Each Askania watch is inspired by history, from aviation pioneers to historic events. Similarly, our fine jewelry collections reflect craftsmanship, personal expression, and timeless elegance. Owning a piece with a rich narrative and heritage makes it even more desirable in the luxury market. Whether a custom-designed pendant or a limited-edition Askania pilot watch, the story behind the piece adds sentimental and investment value, making it a true heirloom.
