IT’S GAME DAY! Excitement emanates from the stadium stands and is clearly felt within the walls of 34-year-old Jon Fichter’s ultimate Fan Zone. A life-long passion for football lead to Jon’s extensive collection of original Jacksonville Jaguar memorabilia, a compilation that even the legends themselves could envy. His 800 sq. ft space, turned Jaguar Legend Museum, gained national recognition after his home was featured on the UCF Jaguar’s Youtube channel. Subsequently, he has conducted dozens of features about his Ultimate Fan Cave including interviews for CBS and Channel 4 News.

Each Man Cave/Fan Cave is a unique representation of your passion. When looking to perfect your own space, here are a few suggestions to bear in mind.

"KNOW YOUR SPACE."

Don’t over clutter! Assemble your displays in a way that the room stays comfortable. You want your collections to be impressive and not exhausting so organization is key. Large TV’s are a must to ensure that you and your guests feel part of the game. Multiple tv’s are great for hosting as several games can be viewed at once, if aired simultaneously. Create a comfortable place to lounge and relax that includes a perfect view of the game.

"CHOOSE YOUR THEME."

Everything should match from jerseys to frames to displays. Choose your theme based on what you love and consider the colors. Matching is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Visual unity prevents your man cave from appearing disjointed.

"LITTLE TOUCHES MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE AND WON’T COST MUCH."

Create your own gridiron coffee table by adding turf to the top and consider adding some to the bottoms of your display cases too. Use shadow boxes or mannequins to display and protect your favorite autographed jerseys. Bold lighting within your display case attracts the eye and can spotlight your favorite collectibles or relics. Atmospheric lighting has a dramatic effect on the appearance of your space but be sure to use caution when positioning lamps and lights to safeguard against frustrating reflections in your TV.
